24  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which method can I use to effectively convert fiat to Bitcoin in my scenario ? on: June 02, 2014, 01:28:04 PM
I'm currently in Dubai and have been trying to convince some of my friends to buy BTC.

I've gotten some attention but most of them are asking me for Bitcoin for physical fiat (the currency is AED)
I can decline and tell them to just try to buy it online , but I'd rather help them.
How can I do this ? How exactly can I purchase Bitcoins in Dubai , with fiat ?

Any suggestions ? There are no great offers on localbitcoin either , most have really high fees as compared to current USD cost.

I understand that you are in an odd situation but I can't help on this.
Please if anyone can help.

Thanks

Once it's loaded to your Paypal account you should be fine. However when I tried loading a bunch of MP to my Paypal after a couple thousand paypal locked my account requiring all sorts of difficult to provide ID verification. Took me a few weeks to get it unlocked.

The idea is to swap whenever need to a more beneficial mode. But mind the charges first and obviously long term investments give more benefits.

35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: what bitcoin client to use for website? on: May 31, 2014, 04:38:51 PM
When you create a new account, you would just assign that to a specific user. You'd then check for updates and update each user's account accordingly. This could be done with a simple array like:

"User" => "Address"

You say "When you create a new account, you would just assign that to a specific user"

What are you referring to when you say "assign that to a specific user"?

1) Generatenewaddress
2) Take that new address and throw it in a database attached to a user
3) Monitor addresses for changes. If one gets a deposit, alter the user's row

You'd run something like this:

UID | UserID | Address

UID = AI, U, int
UserID = U, int
Address = varchar

How user account will be updated and sync.

37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How many transactions per second can bitcoin handle? on: May 30, 2014, 08:50:38 AM
I've heard that bitcoin can only handle about 7 transactions per second. Is this true? Seems to me that would be a limiting factor in worldwide adoption of bitcoin. Has this been addressed by developers?

What if bitcoin were adopted by every nation, every person. The only currency. Can this be done?

I don't think so, 7 transactions is a very low level for a even simple server.

Thanks
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Lost Bitcoin on: May 30, 2014, 08:16:40 AM
Help to deal with the problem: I'd like to understand what happened - theft BTC or system error.
On the purse was the amount 12,89 BTC. When opening the wallet has failed, in which the wallet started synchronizing with the first block. After synchronization is complete, the balance of the purse 0,0009 BTC, there are two transactions, which I did not commit, to unknown address 1MbDKqngwKQ49TowToHGc9nZBRt99CqK8т on the amount 12.8 BTC and 0,098 BTC.
How to determine: whether this address is the address of my wallet and not visible due to a system error, or the theft occurred, and this address belongs to a thief?
If this is a bug, what can I do to return BTC?

Find a way to see the location of address and transaction done by, that may help to find that person who theft coins.

Thanks

40  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the real reason? on: May 30, 2014, 05:40:42 AM
What is the real reason behind the price going WAY up?

Bitcoin was undervalued after the GOX meltdown. This was a correction of that.

Agree, investors were basically unaware of the facts, and misleading news fired up, now it is cool down and jump in value.

Thanks
