some movement going on with shift via bittrex  Wink

I tried following the instructions to setup a node here:

https://github.com/shiftcurrency/shift

I can open the wallet and create a new wallet and it gives me a passphrase, but I can't login using it.
I kept pushing the confirm button in step 2/2 but nothing happens.

Can anyone help?

Please join us on Slack, if we're not around, there's a lot of community members that can help you out.

Responsive dev team is numero uno. Price is very low with only 8 million total coins...3k sats?! Setting up buy walls today

extremistan: They can't sit there and babysit everything, it's not reasonable to expect that. And technically the hack didn't happen on the thread, it happened outside their system. I understand you being upset but lay off the devs. Everyone in crypto knows YOU are responsible for your own coins (gains AND losses). Devs aren't out here supposed to be playing law enforcement. That's the blessing and curse of crypto, I'm afraid.

My fault if it came off as an attack at the devs. Once again ill say it again, i am completely aware of my lethargic self at the time of the hack. Just wanted an explanation. Even  a "youre a n3rd pleb faggit that doesnt know how to internet" response would be fine. Ill leave this thread because i wont get a response. Goodluck trading/holding folks. SDC market should be dope if it drops.

extremistan: I think the devs are busy doing something productive, like building the platform. I'm sorry to hear about your mistake but I promise you no explanation or "sorry that happened on our forum" will bring back those coins. If the devs had to take time out of their day to deal with every mishap, they'd never get anything done. So take the apology from our community as a whole and let's move forward. Smiley

55k SDC hack on their own moderated thread isnt an every day mishap. But ok. Appreciate it.

As far as I know this thread is not moderated.

It says it on the top of every page.

None of this makes sense. Yes i got hacked for being a high dumbass. Trusting a supposedly trustworthy forum thats not trustworthy as stated above was completely my fault. I am past that.

I just want an explanation to what i previously posted. No beating around the bush type bs. No sugar coated bs. Like i said before.

I just dont feel as if i was treated correctly after being one of the top SDC supporters since launch. I mined SDC.. BTC & SDC were the only coins I held. I stopped trading cause of all the scams. Then to get hacked on the forum of the coin i supported most , to get no support in return. Leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

still no response to the hack of my 55k sdc. lul

What response are you looking for?

Are you implying devs are responsible for you clicking on malware-infected link from quoted post? What do you think they can do? This is not ETH where devs could roll-back the chain as they please.

Btw I'm not flaming, I'm curiously asking what's your point.

ETH isnt the only coin to do a reroll.

Just a simple explanation as to why there were malware-infected links on a moderated forum & maybe a simple apology. lol. Seems sus to me. *cough*inside job*cough*

Never have i asked for a roll back. Just a response. I mean 55k  SDC is nothing, i forgot. Brush it under the rug & move along. Thats a good way to keep investors. A+ job

On 6 August 2010, a major vulnerability in the bitcoin protocol was spotted. Transactions weren't properly verified before they were included in the transaction log or "block chain" which let users bypass bitcoin's economic restrictions and create an indefinite number of bitcoins.[16][17] On 15 August, the vulnerability was exploited; over 184 billion bitcoins were generated in a transaction, and sent to two addresses on the network. Within hours, the transaction was spotted and erased from the transaction log after the bug was fixed and the network forked to an updated version of the bitcoin protocol.[18][19] This was the only major security flaw found and exploited in Bitcoin's history.[16][17] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Bitcoin

Bitcoin was re-rolled at its early stages as well. I was hacked when SDC merely launched. Possible to fix the 55k SDC hack? yes. Did they want to at the time when I was asking every dev / person in this thread for help? Nope.

As far as I know this thread is not moderated. At least I have never seen any posts altered, or removed (could be wrong, but as memory serves). Anyone is free to say, or post what they wish. I think that speaks highly for the SDC team, as they are not intimidated by those who have done their best to disrupt things. That being said, I think it sucks that you lost a lot of coins. It has happened to me too back in 2013, and it is an expensive lesson. The bottom line is NO ONE is responsible for what links you click on, or trojans you download. On a public forum like Bitcointalk, the risk is much higher. I've seen many examples here. Nothing has been brushed under the rug, and I would be the first in line to string the hacker up by the nuts if given the opportunity. But this has zero to do with keeping investors, and everything to do with personal responsibility. If they had re-rolled the blockchain you might be happy, but it would be unfair to everyone else. Then SDC would lose credibility.

Your best option is to learn from the experience, and move forward.

I agree fully. It is my responsiblity 100%. again you are missing my point.

Please explain how it would be unfair for everyone when a cryptocurrency that just launched for them to reroll their blockchain? How is that unfair, I am very curious, I dont understand? I asked them to do it the MOMENT it happened. Hardly if anyone wouldve been affected. A re roll right now, yes it would fuck SDC up badly. This hack happened over a year ago when SDC was 15k-30k sats.....................

And yes, posts have been removed, i have screenshots this thread is moderated. The post with the malware infected link soon happened to disappear right after it happened. Dont talk to me about deleted posts on this thread. lul

To everyone new to SDC (or any cryptocurrency for that matter ) , Please I urge you to not click ANY links posted by ANYONE rather than the developers. Do not even click a re-quoted link of a developer as this is how I was hacked for 55,000+ SDC.

Do not trust anyone on these forums. They are toxic , full of greedy people , social engineering you out of your crypto. Be smart.

ps. the Devs of SDC did nothing when I was blatantly hacked from someone in this thread. still after a year , nada. Brushed  it under the rug. Funny how I was in the top 10 richlist at the time , & for some reason they couldn't immediately re-roll the blockchain when this occurred.

not pointing fingers

stating facts

This is crypto. YOU are responsible for the safety of your funds. Not a bank, not a third party, not the Developers, YOU. Just stating facts.  It's unfortunate that you were hacked and I do believe everyone should heed your warnings and download from official links only.  Devs aren't going to rollback the blockchain every time someone gets hacked, sends to a bad address, or has a corrupted wallet.  Being in the rich list is irrelevant, it just means you need to be that much more careful with your funds.

You having to deal with the consequences of your actions does not mean your issue was "swept under the rug".

Lol I didn't know I was responsible for phishing links on a moderated forum. Yes it is my fault for trusting a forum like this. An official forum loaded with DClogs injected into exact replica shadowcash wallet-qts. You are 100% correct. That is why I am giving a warning to everyone. This coin has much potential. I have yet to bash SDC since I was hacked.  Just letting everyone know , the wallet-qt that was injected launched perfectly fine & had no idea I was infected until I woke up with 2 transactions totaling 55k+ SDC gone. I asked for an immediate re-roll as I had been a SDC supporter since its launch , mined SDC , but nothing. Then someone in the forum told me to go to my roaming folder/SDC & DClogs was found. There was another Trojan but I cannot recall it off my head aka my computer was 100% ass raped. So I returned it to Costco. LOL .. Buy a brand new XPS to get hacked within 2 hours. Someones computer is now apart of a botnet I suppose. Hopefully Costco knows how to dban.

Remember to check not only links but ur apps data/roaming shadowcash for them DClogs. Not trying to FUD. Its awesome that my 15k investment is now worth 80k. Feels awesome. Lesson learned.

ps. they got access to my password once I started staking my coins. start copying & pasting your password when entering it to stake to ensure a little more safety.

Did they steal only sdc coins from your pc or also other coins?

Nope. had over 50+ BTC on a cold wallet as well. Only 55k SDC. Only Crypto I have been hacked using. It was my favorite cryptocurrency aside from bitcoin. I only use Bitcoin now. I hold a small amount of Ripple because my buddy is friends with the CEO of Ripple. Im not much of a fan though. SDC still looks very good. I just dont think I can invest anymore BTC to a crypto that I felt I didnt get the right support for such a large amount of funds lost. It was 100% my fault though. No one to blame in the SDC team. Just wish they would monitor this forum for shit like that. But hey maybe shit has changed. I may change my mind =D

Please do not take this as FUD. I hope SDC "moons" xD to be honest. I truly do not understand why every DNM for one wouldnt integrate SDC....but Etherum? I must be missing something. Like i said its been almost over a year since Ive logged into this account, Ive been out the loop.

could this blockchain data size problem potentially happen to SDC if everyone were to adopt this currency, say right now?

This is your buy/sell history?

And you are proud of it?

14 wallets with more than that on the richlist, many of which are cold storage. Lol @ "biggest investor".

skip60 is doin his job, great FUDDing tactic. I played right against it and came out happy

skip60 toss all your coins .. please. i wouldnt want someone like you holding any SDC.

why i appear on this forum only in a great while. same old toxic bullshit thread to thread. BTCtalk is poison

The price is being manipulated by a group of people. I know this for a fact.

Dont count on the price launching to its "true value" until the Market drops. IF and when the market is released you will see the true value of this coin given the Market is running fine. Dont be fooled, alot of you noobs cant see past more than a week in cryptospace cause you fools are so damn impatient and gullible always jumping ship finding the next best crypto to make a quick buck. Well, SDC is going to be the future in crypto if all goes as planned ( which is highly likely with this dev team ) AND SMART traders know this. You dont even have to be a trader, but a smart bag holder. If you have invested in SDC, tuck it away and let it sit there....LIKE OLskool Bitcoin. You will be soon scrambling to find your encryption keys and wallet.dat when the true value of SDC is reached....which IMO should be a couple times more valuable that this one coin i heard of called DASH or something..maybe Darkcoin? IDK its one of those, but all i know is SDC will easily surpass any ANON coin, and perhaps Bitcoin since one of the main purposes of Bitcoin was its anonymity which isnt too anonymous anymore.

Point being....50k Sats for SDC is a steal...even 100k Sats is stupid cheap. The price is being held down simple as that. It might even tank more cause these whales want more SDC and all you sheep just follow the crowd.

If it were me, Id be holding down the price until the market gets released, ( if it ever does ) , maybe make a simple goof with the market that causes the price of SDC to DROP aka bad news, accumulation period cause you sheep like to panic sell, then somehow the market is fixed aka good news and all you noobs coming running back to hold SDC once the price has already tripled.

Thats the way I see it.

Stop trading other cryptos. Let them die out. They are pointless.

Do the numbers. If everyone would stop trying to get rich off their own crypto and started just using one universal crypto....the price of each coin would be outrageous. But no, all you fucks like iBits, Dibbits, and all this other bullshit.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] ShadowCash | POSV2 | Untraceable E-Cash | NIZKP | HD+BIP32 | ShadowMarket* on: August 06, 2015, 11:00:37 PM
i just met up with one of my buddies that works for https://getmagicnow.com/ and they started accepting Bitcoin for their service. We should get them familiar with ShadowCash!!! They are a fairly new service. Lets start waking them up now. Giving them a call today. !!!!!

That's awesome! SDC would definitely be a cool crypto for them to accept too, especially for people that want total privacy with their orders.

There won't be total privacy because someone has to place and fill the order. So it might not have much appeal, unless Magic also procures escorts which are technically legal.

Any service that will bring a whore to your door will be the big breakthrough for SDC. This is why I think the Android/iPhone wallets are as important as the marketplace. Hookers use phones not computers.

I know, but using a burner phone and a hotel address + SDC is exactly what some people can do.  It's very easy to get around this type of stuff, but paying with CC or PayPal is absolutely the worst for anonymity, BTC is better but it sure isn't SDC Smiley -- that's why I think it could be really cool for this group to offer it.

Don't even need a burner phone. To prove prostitution you have to prove that money changed hands. As long as the phone wallets are properly lockable and/or have the ability to delete stealth addresses and transactions from the history in case the phone is physically seized you're golden. Without that financial transaction the story is this sexy 18-year old girl knocked on my hotel room door and asked if she could come in and have sex with me, and nobody can prove otherwise!  Grin

hahaha just talked to my buddy again and someone paid for a money counter using Bitcoin. When  you purchase with Bitcoin they do not ID you, at all. That is coming from a current employee.
