Whether the story is true or not, accidentally discovering some of investor's coin in forgotten wallet is normal occurence in cryptocurrency community. Exodus is good and myetherwallet is absolutely excellent. Exodus does not support most of the altcoin you are holding and my etherwallet only store token that is created on ethereum platform. Jaxx seem to be your best shot though!
