It's in the background of this video starting at 14.40, Shazam doesn't work because of the guy speaking over it Sad

Thanks in advance!
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: comcast IP question on: June 21, 2015, 10:56:37 AM
Some companies assign the IP to a mac address, if you can figure out how to change the mac address of your modem that may be a method (yes buying a new one will work but this is costly), in some cases even your computer (one that's directly plugged into the modem/router).

Otherwise you just have to call them up unfortunately.

For the sake of been transparent I would like to reveal our current stats since launching 3 days ago.

4 Deposits, 1 withdrawal, 0 bets

From monitoring the website we see users logging on however finding nobody to challenge and then logging out/closing from boredom.

Not sure how to counter this as the incentive to get users on the website in the first place was the non existent advantage to any player.

What about adding an usual dice game alongside, so people can play against the house when there is no one around?

Primedice has PVP if I remember correctly.

It has been removed, but I have no idea if it is temporary or permanent. Check MICRO's post for reference.

PvP is removed from primedice for the time being .
Although this would be easy to create, I'm somewhat against the idea as it counters what we're trying to represent.

However users such as "keepinquiet" make a good point, gambling is supposed to be fun and it seems we have overlooked this and focused on the fairness of betting instead.

We have decided to keep PvPDice open for another week purely to monitor weekend activity and perhaps give some unaware users a shot, all deposits will automatically be refunded if this day comes so don't let that discourage you from trying the game.

We're currently re-planning the whole project however knowing what we now know it doesn't seem anything will work apart from implementing a traditional 'house vs player' feature. I'm personally against the notion so unless convinced otherwise this probably won't happen.

I appreciate all the comments and support, it's truly nice to see some people giving it a chance amongst the 500+ pages of other content advertised on this forum.

The  0.001% fee is very very low, It's hardly to continue to run a site.
The fee is not the issue at all, activity and serious bettors using the website was always the concern.

BET ID is a randomly generated number which is our 'variable' in the provably fair concept.
Are you sure? So this isn't the bet ID that increases just with 1? If so do we get a hash of this in advance? TBH the whole implementation seems strange, I would assume PvP just works like this:

- Player 1 makes random seed that is long enough to not be bruteforced (is made by default randomly in browser - not on server.) Sends hash to site (not the actual seed yet!) together with amount, Hi/Lo choice.
- Player 2 does the same.
- Both players see each others hash and have few seconds to note it down.
- Both players send the actual seeds to server (only now!) and result is calculated just based on these seeds together.

This way neither the players or site knows the outcome in advance, even if the site + one of the players collude together (eg house cheating by faking a player.)

0.01% of $1,000 is $10
Uhm no. You might be confused with the difference in showing fractional numbers with percentage vs decimals.

amount = fraction by using percentage = simple fraction (fraction by using decimals)
$1,000 = 100% = 1/1 (1)
$100 = 10% = 1/10 (0.1)
$10 = 1% = 1/100 (0.01)
$1 = 0.1% = 1/1000 (0.001)
$0.1 = 0.01% = 1/10000 (0.0001)
$0.01 = 0.001% = 1/100000 (0.00001)
$0.001 = 0.0001% = 1/1000000 (0.000001)
Yep, seems you're correct.

Funny, one of the devs said this originally during the concept planning and everyone else shut him down; he's feeling pretty big headed right now lmao.

Changing this now, thanks Nico.

To obtain the result, you need four things:

1) BetID: You can obtain this from your "My Bets" column.

2) No. of challenges: Number of challenges issued to opponent.

3) Total Bets: This is the total PVP games played by user, this can be obtained from the "Profile Settings" page on the top left corner of the page. Please note this must be your total bets at the time of the game; not to be confused with your current Total Bets.

4) SEED: This is automatically generated by the server, although you may change it whenever you like; found on the top left corner of the page next to the logout button.

Steps to obtain a user's roll number:

1) Combine (1#2#3#4) in sequence.

I don't understand your provably fair method at all. It seems the 4 variables to calculate the roll outcome are known to the player in advance. This would mean the player can generate their own results in advance and therefor cheat.
BET ID is a randomly generated number which is our 'variable' in the provably fair concept.

I would like to try your site, but it seems no one is online. Sad

Please note there is a 0.001% fee to all CashOuts by PvPDice.com, this is equivalent to $1 fee for a $1,000 deposit.

Is the fee 0.001% (you take $1 for a $100,000 deposit) or 0.1% (you take $1 for a $1,000 deposit)?

The fee for both is 0.001%

As noted the site says: $1 fee for a $1,000 deposit. That is 0.1% not 0.001%. So which one is it? Just a fee on wagered/profit amount would be better IMO.
0.01% of $1,000 is $10

The idea was to encourage more betting on a platform far more fair than others, a true game of chance if you will - we always knew the community wouldn't adopt it as quickly as other games such as SatoshiDice, JustDice or PrimeDice which is another reason the fees are so low.

The planning of this project has gone into immense depth and believe it or not this whole launch is more of a proof of concept than a claim to profit, if it fails the plan was to always scrap it and move on to other ventures (Bitcoin related) however if it succeeds then we will take it to the next level (involving a much larger level of commitment from the team and financial investment).
8  Economy / Gambling / Re: ***LAUNCHING*** www.PvPDice.com - Bitcoin Player Vs Player Dice & Poker betting on: June 02, 2015, 01:12:47 PM
Adding faucet will be a good idea to test out the site
For background theme is too colorful. Anyway good luck with the site then
Unfortunately the profit margin is incredibly small so introducing a faucet is not feasible.

if you dont have a house edge as its a pvp game and you dont have ads how you will make profit out of it then?

i think they will take some fee from winning bets like 1% or maybe 2% OP can tell us better about this how much fee they will charge from winning bet, is there option to put bet against the house edge or not?
Fees are deducted ONLY from deposits and withdrawals, you can bet as much as you want without a fee.

The fee for both is 0.001%

Introducing....

https://www.PvPDice.com

A lot of you may remember us from our pre-launch competition advertised in the games & rounds section (otherwise found here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1066210.0)

Well it brings us great pleasure (and many sleepless nights) to officially launch PvPDice to the public.

How do we make money?
We charge a 0.01% fee (AKA $1 for every $1,000) for Deposits & Withdraws, We DO NOT charge any fees for the actual bets themselves, this means you can bet an unlimited amount of times and only be charged for what you withdraw at the end.

How do I play?
Please take a moment to watch this quick video on how to deposit & play.

_______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________

We understand that there will be many questions (as there has been in the past) so please take a moment to read through the FAQs and if anything needs clarification or you require assistance then by all means do not hesitate to ask.

FAQ:
What is PvPDice?
PvPDice is a Player Vs Player Bitcoin betting game, we are consisted of 2 games at the moment with a third in development; they are 'Dicing' and 'Poker'

How do I know I'm not being cheated?
PvPDice has implemented a popular concept among Bitcoin betting games called 'Provably Fair', probably fair allows a player to validate the fairness of their bet. Your bets are always completely unpredictable as there are several parameters which are used to reach the result of your game result which are all impossible for us to predict which by contrast makes it impossible for us or anyone else to cheat.

You can find out more about the 'Probably Fair' concept by scrolling to the bottom of PvPdice.com and clicking 'Probably Fair', here we will show you how our provably fair system works and also display an example of how you can use it yourself.

How do I deposit?
You may deposit by clicking the "Deposit" button on the right hand side of the screen next to "Invite User", this button is only available on the 'DICE' & 'POKER' page. Once you click the button a wallet address will appear; simply deposit your funds to the selected address and your account will be credited automatically. Please note there is a 0.001% fee to all deposits by PvPDice.com, this is equivalent to $1 fee for a $1,000 deposit.

How do I withdraw?
You may withdraw by clicking the "CashOut" button located directly under the 'Deposit' button. To CashOut you must provide a valid wallet address & amount of BTC you wish to Withdraw. Please note there is a 0.001% fee to all CashOuts by PvPDice.com, this is equivalent to $1 fee for a $1,000 deposit.

What currencies do you currently accept?
For the time being we are only accepting Bitcoin, we do not have any future plans to integrate other virtual currencies.

Why did you create PvPDice?
PvPDice.com was created as a proof of concept for a much larger business model, we are interested in seeing how the market responds to a 0% house edge casino. PvPDice.com is about playing a game of chance; we define this by one player having an equal chance of beating another player. This eliminates the misconstrued concept that a 1% house edge is unlikely to hit them and therefore a false sense of security is felt by the bettor enabling them to continue placing bets with the hope of winning on the long run.

What is the maximum bet?
Although technically we are not taking bets as a house; we have implemented a maximum bet of 10BTC between players.

What if I don't trust PvPDice with my money?
We have monitored the market for a while and have unfortunately witnessed many scams by seemingly trustworthy people in the Bitcoin gambling community; it's for this reason we completely understand how some players may be sceptical about depositing their funds directly with PvPDice.com. To address this issue we are giving players the opportunity to nominate their own 'Private Banker'.

The private banker will be a third party individual deemed trustworthy by two players wishing to bet against each other; this player will have complete control of your funds and be tasked with the responsibility of paying the victor their spoils. Players who choose to take the route of a private banker will not be allowed to make bets against the public & will not be available in the global directory, only against one other individual who is also using the same banker.

Enjoy!

7% that kind of high fee, what about from Bitcoin to cash? how much is the fee?
Agreed, transaction and purchase fees such as this discourage the use of BTC and ruin the point to some degree.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brain Wallet hacked, suspect bitcoin talk hackers. on: May 29, 2015, 11:48:23 AM
Perfect example why everyone should change their passwords on all platforms if they were the same as their bitcointalk one.

Congratulations again.

Launch will be on 1st June.

Congrats, its nice site but few players. Hope you can add some bot which we can play if there were no one online.
Thanks for your feedback Meren, Unfortunately implementing a bot goes against the original concept of the game which was to allow players to make bets at complete 50/50 odds.

A bot taking bets at 50/50 odds is not feasible, it's basically gambling on our end without the actual fun of gambling.

15  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: **2-8BTC GIVEAWAY** Announcing the launch of PvPDice - Player Vs Player betting on: May 28, 2015, 03:53:59 PM
I am proud to announce that the competition has now ended.

I would like to thank each and every one of you who participated and stayed active, we have received a lot of feedback and bug reports which we are currently working on getting resolved prior to official launch.

Now for the winners (and non-winners)....

In reverse order (with balance included):
10. iamiri - 0.08000000
9. izanami - 0.08000000
8. michael - 0.10610000
7. kalem - 0.11500000
6. yangitu687 - 0.19800000
5. south - 0.21750000
4. Bitcoin.ProGambler - 0.25000000
3. abiw - 0.72960000
2. jajahbule - 0.78610000
1. hyipex - 0.89490000

Congratulations to hyipex for his fantastic win!

Now I realize in one of my updates (when extending the user limit from 50 to 200 & total potential win value to 8BTC) I announced the winner will receive whatever balance he/she has left from the competition, this was due to me considering that someone may win more than 2 BTC and I was willing to pay that extra price; however as we can see the winner didn't even get close to the minimum 2 BTC reward. Seeing as I advertised this in the topic title I have changed the rewarding process in a last minute decision so we can deliver the promise that was made.

Previously hyipex would have won whatever his balance was at the end of the competition (0.89490000 BTC), this has now been changed to a 1.2BTC reward.
Previously jajahbule would not have received a reward as the rules strictly stated there would be one winner, this has now been changed to a 0.5BTC reward.
Previously abiw would not have received a reward as the rules strictly stated there would be one winner, this has now been changed to a 0.3BTC reward.

Congratulations to all, I have sent all three of you an e-mail requesting your deposit address; payments will be processed within 24 hours of your reply. Please remember to check your junk mail box.

I have placed PvPDice offline as we are implementing all of our bug fixes and doing some last minute testing prior to officially launching, please keep a lookout for us in the gambling section in the next few days.

Thanks everyone!

Regards,
Jamie

Yeah the overwhelming response is that people are inactive and don't accept challenges, we're hoping an activity monitor & sound notification upon challenges resolves this for the live version....

Sorry for the inactivity guys.

Update:
Please note that we are still investigating this to be 100% sure, I'm personally very big on security so I won't make a decision until every stone has been unturned.

However gathering the information we have so far it's looking like this was a fault on our end and not anything malicious by "hyipex"

I'd like to retract my statement and apologize to "hyipex" for claiming he has abused a bug on www.pvpdice.com or acted vindictive in any way.

It appears the developer responsible for this game designed a feature that automatically diverted funds to the winner upon the ending of the promotion and made this their real balance hence the user "gordonhill" statement that he was able to withdraw funds however returned it straight afterwards.

This in combination with an incorrectly communicated end date caused this to all unfold.

I apologize for the confusion, as stated the original goal of  this giveaway was to find out what works and what doesn't within this game as well as finding bugs, happy to report we have only found 1 actual bug which has been resolved.

Looking into rolling this back to the closest moment I can find before all funds were diverted to hyipex, the new end date will most likely be 28th May however I will confirm this in my next post.

For those who weren't aware hyipex was actually winning before this happened, I posted the top 5 on our Facebook & Twitter page on the 22nd May(https://www.facebook.com/pages/PvPdice/1654458921436336), obviously I couldn't post them here as the forums were down.

Thanks for your patience, will update soon.

EDIT:
After reading some comments I'd like to make one thing clear, there is one winner, funds will not be distributed to the top 10 or equally between 200.
20  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: **2-8BTC GIVEAWAY** Announcing the launch of PvPDice - Player Vs Player betting on: May 25, 2015, 08:48:39 PM
Seems someone has found a bug and was able to divert everyone else's balance to themselves.

The person in question hasn't exactly been forthright about it so I'll post his username here in hopes that someone can give me some more information on how he achieved this bug.
Currently taking a snapshot of the server before rolling back so we can look into this further, will update! sorry for the inconvenience.

Will update here when everything is back to normal.
