1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NAUT] Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund - Digishield on: June 17, 2016, 06:58:04 PM
I have some NAUT on Bittrex that I want to get onto Poloniex.  As I understand it I need to first withdraw it to a wallet, then deposit it to Poloniex from that wallet.

So I went to MyNXT and created a wallet but when I try to withdraw on Bittrex I get this message: "The address you submitted is not valid for the NAUT network. Cancel this withdrawal and resubmit it."

Bittrex told me it's because there are no transactions yet and they won't send coins blindly to a new wallet that has never shown up on the network.  I don't have any other coins - they're all on bittrex.

Can someone send 1 NAUT to NXT-R4UX-QFGM-QZ8H-H2RZP?  I will send it right back, I just need to initialize the wallet.

Or if there's any easier way please let me know.

BK, some friendly advice before your next developer debacle:

http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/business-contracts-kit-for-dummies-cheat-sheet.html

With one of them there fancy business contracts Weiner leaving is Blocktech's problem, not yours!  Say it with me "Breach: A claim by one party to a contract that the other party has failed to perform as required under the contract".  Don't forget to date and sign!

Flying Mongoose has to get approval to use the dumb spiral logo for his handjob site but you don't have an enforceable contract in place with Blocktech.  Great job focusing your legal team on the important things.

Signed,

Everyone who's been watching this slow motion train wreck

Naut has always been a joke and BK couldn't care less about $260,000 of people's money invested in his coin.  he probably spent that amount on blow and hookers last night.

C'mon be fair, NAUT's only been a joke since early to mid August.

Don't forget, NAUT is "Wall Street's coin".  Wall Street is gonna trade in their gold for NAUT and the price is gonna hit $1500.  You just wait, once the big money gets here it's smooth sailing.

In fact here's a transcript of BK selling NAUT to Wall Street:

BK: I have this hot cryptocurrency with a market cap of $260.
Wall Street: Hmm $260 million, sounds interesting, tell me more.
BK: That's $260 THOUSAND

Thinkin outside the box here...would it be too crazy to have people come to the site, see a "get your Naut-y now" button.  They click it and it takes them to a page where they purchase a Nautilus t-shirt.  With the Nautilus shirt purchase they get, say, 50 "free" NAUT coins.  Now, I know you techy guys are thinking I'm a G-D moron.  Patience.  Im new to this shite!
Wouldn't this eliminate the rule/law/infrastructure limiting people from buying NAUT direct with money?  If so, would a voucher for said "free" coins upon tshirt purchase make sense or be allowed?  Maybe, upon purchase of the tshirt the buyer has to register an account with MintPal, etc.  So the steps would be...
They buy their shirt and get a voucher.  Then, register an account at an exchange and type in their voucher (basically the voucher is a public wallet receive address) which "pings" Nautilus who then sends them the coins.
Too crazy?  Too complicated?  I like that it's scalable, provides additional exposure to the brand/product with t-shirt sales, and gets some "average-joes" (like my boy mjh712) easy access to the coin and alt-coin universe.
I like how you think! Smiley Maybe it will even be possible to set it up so that you can purchase the Nautiluscoin shirts either with Naut or with fiat. If you pay with fiat you will also get say 50 Naut sent to an address of your choice? That would be extremely easy to implement. I get that BK and his company can't sell Naut directly just yet as it has to be registered as an exchange and so on, but including a small amount of Naut in every purchase shouldn't pose any legal issues as far as I understand it.

Great idea!  I wonder if Jon Fitch has any gear he wants to sell this way too.  Not sure if there's licensing issues with MMA but could be a big opportunity.

This issue has been raised in the past few days, but not really addressed in detail.  There are two major events going right now, the POS and the fight.  One event is important to the altcoin enthusiasts who have a deep understanding of how these systems work, the other event is an attempt to introduce NAUT to a group of people who probably don't know the first thing about BTC, let alone altcoins.

For me, these events are completely unrelated and should be treated as such.  The POS will strengthen our hand with altcoin savvy people, and will hopefully lead to some buying of NAUT from within the altcoin community.

However, MMA fans who will be watching the fight have no interest in the technical aspects of NAUT, and we would be wasting our breath trying to explain why POS is a big deal.  The issues must remain separate.  The exposure we will get from the fight will be relatively useless unless we can develop a mechanism for bringing those people into the fold (i.e. having them purchase NAUT).  I would argue that the overwhelming majority of them would not be willing/able to take all the steps currently needed to purchase NAUT (I can only assume the police station idea was made in jest).  This needs to be a major focus.  If NAUT can be the coin that becomes readily available to the masses, it becomes a real winner.  It was brought up in a previous post - it needs to be a few clicks and a credit card away.

People seem very certain that the exposure from this fight will have a huge and immediate effect on the price of the coin.  While I own a bunch of NAUT and will be a long term holder, I do not necessarily buy this line of thinking.  We need to make it easy for some guy sitting on his couch to own NAUT - directing him to a website that focuses on technical issues like POS, Digishield, etc., and making him go through multiple steps over the course of 4-5 days makes it extremely unlikely that this person will ever own NAUT.

I would appreciate any feedback on this topic, as I am new to the altcoin community and am trying to approach this in a practical, business-centric sense.  The more people that pour money into NAUT, the more the currency appreciates, let's make it easier for this to happen!

BK - I would love to get your take on this issue

How about verified ebay sellers as an option for these people. It can be done quite easily with minimal extra cost if customers are directed to sellers.

The ebay idea is thinking about it on the right scale.  Bartering may be the easiest and fastest solution for some people, but it's not scalable.  We're trying to get NAUT to hundreds of thousands of people.  The new people that we need to attract to NAUT don't have friends they can barter with.  They aren't going to setup a craiglist deal in a parking lot.  IMO, we'd be better off telling people to give us their email and we'll let them know when NAUT is available to be purchased easily than turning them off completely by sending them on some 10 step journey.  If people get to the site with the intent to buy and leave thinking it's way too complicated, we're worse off than we started.

Has any one else read Moolah's due diligence section (https://v2.moolah.io/due-diligence)?

"We'll need to see the following in order to verify your account if you wish to use our currency exchange services, merchant conversion services or accept credit/debit cards on our storefronts.

 - Government issued photo ID (e.g. passport, drivers license, identity card, etc).
 - Proof of address (e.g. utility bill, bank statement, etc) dated within the last 6 months.

You can provide this information to us by opening a help desk ticket at the below URL and uploading your documents. Please include your username in any requests. Please do not send us documents via email."

I'm sure they're just trying to comply with the law, but buying BTC on coinbase, waiting 4 days then buying NAUT on MintPal seems easier to me.  Both are way too many steps.  I know we're in the early days here so if that's all we got, that's all we got.  Just wondering if there are any other options any one knew of.

We got a bunch of MMA fans that are going to be hitting NautilusCoin.com on July 5th and some are going to want to buy.  Is there an easy way?

I don't think it is so much law as risk. Selling crypto coins for payment methods that have chargebacks is very risky for the merchant.

Localbitcoins.com. Find someone local to buy bitcoins from. Meet then at a police office to exchange cash for coins. Once you have BTC you have several options available to buy NAUT with. Probably the fastest way.

The localbitcoins route sounds like a major hassle.  I was thinking more like 1) click on link 2) put in credit card info 3) get NAUT.  We're talking about people that are new to crypto.  "Go to your local police station and make the exchange" is a non-starter.  The easier we make it for people the more that buy.  Are we better off telling people to give us their email address and we'll let them know when they can purchase NAUT for USD?

What else can we do?

I'm as excited as everyone else about this sponsorship opportunity with Jon Fitch.  I don't see other coins with NAUT's market cap getting this kind of exposure.  What I'm trying to figure out is the best way to capitalize on it.  I'm imagining a venn diagram of altcoin enthusiasts and MMA fans and I'm not sure how big that overlap is.  If the opportunity is to get new people into NAUT, we need to grease the wheels.

Let's say I'm the average MMA fan and I know nothing about Bitcoin let alone altcoins.  I follow Jon Fitch on twitter and I see him post something about NautilusCoin so I decide to check it out.  A potential customer is heading to NautilusCoin.com, what's the goal?  Educating that person on mining, DigiShield and the Stability Fund are at the bottom of my list.  We want to hook them.

The home page should have a picture of Jon Fitch somewhere and mention the MMA fight above the fold.  That's why they went to the site, connect the dots for them and they'll click on.  Then a link "Why Jon Fitch loves NAUT" should take you to a new page that's designed for MMA fans.  No DigiShield, mining or NSF stuff.  Show me Jon Fitch quotes saying good things about NAUT.  Give them the Wall Street's Altcoin pitch.  Tell them how to buy NAUT.  Give them Jon Fitch's wallet address and tell them about tipping.  All with Jon's permission of course - don't want to piss off a guy like that.

In an ideal world, they'd be able to put in their credit card or bank account info and buy NAUT with a few clicks.  If Moolah is in place, are we sending them there?  If not, are we trying to get them to follow NautilusCoin on twitter or like us on Facebook?  What else can we do to get them involved in this split second we have their attention?

I'm not a web designer or marketing expert so I'll defer to others on the details, but we should use this publicity for more than just getting our name out there.
