What's happening with the 5th anniversary silver coins we were expecting news by the end of February?
everyone who want his 200 DMD and have no time to wait can request a refund of his 200 DMD must be send from correct bitcointalk account for all who have the patience i try to make this a unique valueable set of goodies for the true DMD fan a very limited set of collector items (only 99 pieces will exist) i didnt manage to prepare a update until yet hope to be able handle the task in next 1-2 weeks Are there still plans to continue with the silvercoins for DMD's fifth anniversary? |

Interesting topics, I hope meeting timeframe won't be limited....Especially when it comes to services and usability, it is important to find a suitable usercase for Diamond. However, since the DMD community has several high ranked members, a warning about how to use smerit could be necessary. Already the META section is filled with people who has gotten red trust from DT members for having rewarded "wrong" posts or rewarded a post with "to many" smerits. There are also a lot of threads about why certain posts have gotten "that" many merits. I suppose smerits have to be used with extreme caution. Somehow, a duck pond comes to mind, but since ducks in general are not particularly power-seeking or greedy such a metaphor would only be insulting to the ducks. |

Or are plans shifted toward more expensive matters it will become a 5th anniversary coin i did absolute underestimate the time all this things need good part we will add a lot of goodies like a DMD book and some more DMD promo gimmicks in the end it will be a limited edition wonder box with many nice things new release goal is pre june 2018 we might replace the masternode lottery with a much more luxury material selection for the coin this way everyone is a winner Sad to hear that there will be no physical Diamond silvercoin under my Christmas tree. Santa Claus will have problems this Christmas.... However, time is a complex parameter and I do very well understand that you can not always do everything that is planned. I have now had some time to familiarize with the new DMDv3 wallet/network. There's a big difference between DMDv2 and DMDv3, POS rewards seems hard to acquire, but I assume that's good for network security. In the wallet, in coin control inputs there's a button to "Toggle Lock State" I'm not familiar with. What's the idea behind it and how is it supposed to be used?

How to split my 600 into 6 piles of 100 with utxo Instantly. I did setcoin split threshold 200. but i still have my 600 dmd block getting nothing after roughly 50 hours! i have just had 0.002 dmd since this release.
Before the dmd 3.0 release there was talk of people being able to use 2.0 wallet for a few years. is this stilll the case? can i got back to 2.0 with my native 3.0 wallet .dat.

To split your 600 DMD into 6 coin piles of 100 DMD each, you have to enter the value 6 in the UTXO field. Be sure to send them to yourself by copying your address from Receiving Addresses or by using the Coin Control Features. In the Coin Control Inputs you can also check that you have 6 equally sized coin piles after the split is done. Ok thank you for explanation. I did that, i now have 7 blocks, 6x 100 and some dust. Hopefully now i have better chance of getting something after 25 hours, Nice to hear that. Actually, your new coin piles will be able to compete for a POS block after 1 hour. But how long it will take before you finally find one, you just have to wait and see. Hopefully it will be soon. Don't forget to Unlock Wallet, and check the box "For anonymization and staking only" when you enter your passphrase. The Diamond Icon down to the right will turn blue when staking is active. @crowetic I'm no dev, but the confirmation time for a staked coin pile is 640 blocks (approx 24 hours) and maturity time is 1 hour. Then you can stake the pile again. can someone explain how coin priority works please.
see above, some piles are lower priority yet more confirms than those with higher ?
whats the formula here ?

To my understanding coin priotity doesn't have anything to do with staking, since coin age is removed in DMD v3. However, to explain coin priority or if it has some other function in the new DMD wallet is a topic for Christian |

Please note that danbi's pool will stop minning around 1st September 2017 and will stop operation at the time Diamond switches to version 3 (12-13 September 2017).
Make sure you withdraw your coins before the switch day.

With preinstalled daemon and chain - just supply your node key and transaction data. No coins there, you control that from your very own wallet. Will this affect the possibility to import old private keys from DMD v2?
Of course, we will have full compatibility of both wallet.dat files and private keys for import into a new wallet. This was initially one of the most important points in the upgrade. Just to be clear; you are saying that a future implementation of a more complex and secure address schema (to prevent brute force quantumcomputer attacks) still will correspond to the original private keys belonging to the original DMD v2 addresses? |

I have read the DMD White Paper and it's a nice piece of work and interesting reading. I have some questions though.
Quote: "Stage 1: from 2017-09-01 till 2018-02-01
From Block 0 till Block 115200 the reward will remain constant at 2.35DMD. Diamond's yearly monetary inflation will come down from the starting position of 23.7% and drop to 21.6% within 6 months time.
Stage 2: from 2017-03-01 till 2020-08-01
From Block 134400 till Block 691200 the reward emission will follow a curved line decreasing rewards slightly each month from 2.29DMD per block to 0.55DMD within 29 months. Also, a yearly monetary inflation rate will decrease substantially from 20.6% to 3.8% within that period.
Stage 3: from 2020-09-01 till 2027-07-01
From Block 710400 till block 2284800 the reduction in network rewards will slow down from 0.5 DMD to 0.157 DMD per block, while annual monetary inflation will fall from 3.5% to 0.96% within that period.
Stage 4: from 2027-08-01 - ongoing
From Block 2304000 onward the network rewards will remain at constant level of 0.1563 DMD per block. Yearly inflation will be reducing slowly from 0.95% to 0.87% in the space of 10 years."
It seems that some block intervals are missing between the stages. What will the block reward be for example between block 115200-134400? It also seems to be some discrepancies between the dates of the stages?
In the White paper there are no mentioning about PoS maturity time after successfully minting a block. Does that mean that the same coin pile can mint two blocks in a row if lucky? Or is there still some maturity time, corresponding to the nine days in DMD v2?

Does this mean the control wallet with the collateral must be online continuosly? If not, what does "delegates the work" mean?

Well, as you know Helmut, my wife is a devoted DMD supporter since the groestl time (early 2014). She uses the cake competition as an excuse to make a summer cake/party event....We invite some close friends, have a barbecue, have some wine/beer and coffee and cake. The cake is a perfect excuse to discuss cryptocurrency in general and DMD specifically. Unfortunately our friends don't appreciate the cryptocurrency possibilities fully. However, this year they were aware of the BTC price rise, but they think the value rise in cryptocurrency is madness. Actually, I understand them.... |

...I finally bought into some DMD and thought i'd point a rig at it till PoW ends, but I can't seem to find a decent pool and/or the definitive Groest nvidia miner.
Could someone point me in the right direction?
You can find different DMD pools on OP and also a link to different Mining Software. For Nvidia cards there is ccMiner. At the DMD pool Miningfield's homepage you can also find a link to ccMiner under "Help" - "Getting started". Thanks, a few of the links appeared dead or no longer to support DMD, but think i've found the one with majority hash. To clarify for the miner, is there a specific release or version that is Groest optimized? I've found alexis works better for some algos, and have a ccminer version that appears optimized for lbry, another for nist5, and still another for skein. Is it safe to assume using CC2.0 will yield optimal hash for publicly available software? Last time I mined, I used ccMiner version 1.2: https://github.com/cbuchner1/ccminer/releasesHowever that is an old version of ccMiner that supports Diamond Groestl and Nvidia cards with Compute version up to 5.0. If you have newer Nvidia cards, I don't know which miner to use. I´m sorry I can't be of much help, I haven't mined for a very long time. |
