I'm not sure if he meant it in a rude way. He did hope you bought back in at 150k I am nt buying back in until I see a working product. It is clear at this point the product is not working as intended.. take it or leave it. you hae the facts right here on this forum. Doesnt mean I have lost hope... just if you were a SMART investor you would realize you shouldnt invest in shit that isnt working, like a nice car, without wheels. The REV2 is in fact working, why do you say it isn't? Just because it's testnet doesn't mean it isn't working. Everyone must make their own decisions, but you've been a great asset to the community, and I hate to see you hop off the train when I feel it's getting ready to leave the station. Aren't all the fundamentals that made you invest in this coin still here, and about to be substantially added to in the next couple days? This isn't to try to make you change your mind, I respect your decisions, you're your own man and do what you need to do. You're more than welcome here though, so I hope you don't stay long gone, if at all. |

I respectfully disagree with you buddy. Yesterday's announcement was huge - Trustless Mixing!!! But yes, also looking forward to the new announcement. And just for clarity, Synechist never said this new announcement was supposed to be huge, he simply said that it was worthy of being excited about. we could probably agree that the "how" wsn't perfect yesterdy but the actual "what" was HUGE . Decentralized trustless Anon , All Wallets are xnodes , Staking and fee collection at same time. i mean what do you consider huge if that isn't? This is the next step. Bitcoin 2.0. Do people even understand the significance? I'm just chillin looking for a nice bonus in 2 hours. Exactly |

This wasn't even talked about in announcements, yet Dan was able to incorporate it into REV2 release for testnet. That's actually called overdelivering.
Yes, the release could have been smoother. Yes, we all want it on mainnet. But if they had a little hangup last minute would you want them to just release it anyhow?
Come on guys, the fundamentals are the same. XC is ahead of everyone else by miles, and we're going to have this TRUSTLESS MIXER too!
You all can think what you want, but I personally take this as great news. It shows real development.

I know everyone's a little anxious for the release, but while we're waiting, I just wanted to take a minute to say that we have a great community here. I've been involved with cryptocurrency for well over a year now, and I never had a reason to join the bitcointalk forum or to get too heavily involved with a project. I could do my research, make my decisions, tend to my regular life, etc. It wasn't until XC came out that I felt the need to actually take action and become a part of things.
I'm here because I see great potential. XC isn't like any of the other coins here, and trust me, I've mined and researched a majority of them. Anyone who's been here from the start knows this, that XCurrency is quite different from the rest. The opportunity to be involved with something like XC is rare. In short, I'm glad to be a part of this community with you all, and I'm looking forward to where it is we're going.

Is it me or did they forgot to mention that nothing beats fiat for funding terrorism? Also xc doesn't endorse andy illegal behaviour, it's for people who care about privacy. Right?! Kind of my thoughts too... didn't know that caves have wifi |

Is anyone updating the links from the 1st page of this thread? Also the download links on the new site don't seem point to anything. If anyone has links to the linux binaries I'd appreciate it. I'd like to update some nodes. Where do people usually get the binaries from?
Downloads will be added when REV2 is officially released later tonight, I would imagine. |

I'm sorry, but no other coin does it like XCurrency.
XC is by far, the most professional digital currency in the altcoin scene. Dan Metcalf was CEO of a tech security firm -- and it shows. He knows exactly what he's doing, and exactly what he needs to do to make XC competitive not simply with altcoins, but with Bitcoin itself.
Look out world, XC is coming... and fast!

4) XC is already anonymous, and working I can't stress this enough. It's working! It doesn't mysteriously fork. It was released on time. There have been no setbacks. XC is only 5 weeks old, and we're already at this level. XC is not a completed design. It anonymity will compound. Its user-friendliness will become a 1-click thing. But for the sake of historical accuracy, here's where this rumour started: Rev. 1 was released to test whether anyone could prove that a link exists on the blockchain between sender and receiver. Chaeplin misconstrued the purpose of the release and harped on about the fact that because mixers forward coins, coins could be stolen. This is true, but it's besides the point. All we were testing was whether anyone could provide a link on the blockchain. The rest of the build, including vulnerable transaction-forwarding, was just scaffolding so that the tests could be carried out. But, alas, Chaeplin appeared not to be amenable to realising this fact. Perhaps if his intention was to contribute constructively he would have avoided this lapse of comprehension. As a traditional investment professional, as I have stated before, I am impressed with the underlying fundamentals. A good traditional stock has a good management team, good R & D to stays relevant and appealing to the masses, and if lucky enough a dividend. XC has a great management team, cutting edge technology that has been delivered or is being worked on that will have mass appeal, and it coins increase only 3.3% a year, which is similar to a dividend being paid to current holders. It also has a market cap of $4 to $5 million with plenty of room for growth.
Other coins that intrigued me at first have some flawed fundamentals. They over promise and under deliver. They do no have a set amount of coins (shares). This will lead to dilution. An example is a traditional stock who's price increased over the years and it becomes cumbersome to record keep so they do a stock split. A 2-1 split increases everyones shares by 2, but cuts the price in half. A few other coins have less than half of their final coin number in circulation. This will cause dilution of that coin over time... It simple economics. You look at these same coins and they will have resistance to growth. Say a coin has a $40 million market cap, or approx. 10x XC's, it will struggle to grow. It will take another $40 million to double the price, it will also take more if the number of coins continues to grow as mining continues and causes dilution. You are looking at a $60-$80 million of additional market capitalization to double the price. While doubling is not bad, I see XC with as much or more technology as these coins after only 6 weeks. I see the roadmap and the marketing that has been organized, the developer and his skill set, and the fact this coin can not be diluted as an opportunity that is very rare. A chance to earn many times your initial investment if you hold and trust the plan. As I said before, I bought more earlier this week when the price was low, and will continue to hold until I see a bad diversion from the plan. However, I don't expect this, because so far this team has under promised and over delivered and I expect this to continue.
so what do you think...do you see any reason why in the next few years XC cant have a marketcap equal to BTC..what do you think the future holds, if XC keeps delivering like it has? Potentially... I think it has one of the best chances to emerge. A couple of reasons why... If this coin continues with its advancement on a technical side as well as doing those things that make it easier for the general population to adopt, it will grow its base. It won't fight dilution, Its coins in circulation are set, except for 3.3% (which may not be as much as those lost). So if it would go to $1000k a coin, you would be able to add other forms of XC easier. This would be much like the US having pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, dollars, tens, twenties etc. If I have an easy payment system and can use an XC credit card on one of the networks (visa, mc, discover) to buy goods and services across the world, especially if physically traveling the sky is the limit. I went overseas this year and had to convert the US dollar to a foreign currency. I did this at a currency desk at a large bank. I paid a premium when exchanging before the trip and exchanged at a discount when I returned home, not to mention the foreign transaction fees on my VISA... Will this happen in 2 years, maybe. Will XC be the coin? In my mind it has the potential. Bitcoin is like a DOW JONES company. It is hard to turn those big ships and make big advancements. If XC can get it right early, they may be the Facebook replacing the myspace. I also always look at what I say is a conservative side to a company. The minimum I see for XC is a very functional alternate currency that is spent and used due to its anonymous features, easy and safe to use technology and continues to grow at a slower pace. This would still put the price $150 to $200 with a market cap around $1 billion. If they continue to deliver I see the range being $150 to $750 in the next 2 years. Thank you for this useful post.
