Hey guys, just curious where our friends from hashevolved have gone? I agree, the pool was hit or miss from time to time (and I still enjoy hitting some launches myself to maximize profits for more XC), but they were doing a pretty good job towards the end. At current prices, the multipool would come in very handy.. cheap XC are to be had!
From what I understand, the beta testing is done, and now they're working on both the front and backend before they take it fully operational again. I'm also looking forward to them returning  |

Hey guys, I would like to add something. A lot of times its been said that current price doesn't matter. I can tell you that statement is completely faulse. Current price and an upward trending price matter a lot. Any "investor" wants to see a continued return on investment. If they don't, they walk away. If they walk away, they don't usually come back. It becomes too risky because history says its a bad bet. Also, even though day traders and whales have a tendency to dictate the market, in the end without bitcoin we might as well be trading vegtables. If we want XC to overtake bitcoin one day, investors are key. They want to see innovation and development. They won't mind donating a few XC to a marketing campaign or what have you if it in turn helps put money in their pocket. I work for an investment firm, so I know what I'm talking about. You can't pitch something to an investor without showing them evidence that their investment will payoff. So...... Get out there and spread the word about XC. Anyone that has privileged information that is allowed to share should. If you let these forums go stale without any updates to intise people to jump on board, then you can kiss your investment goodbye!
Current price doesn't matter. Fullstop. I'm not going to go personal on this, but I very much doubt you understand this space in comparison to actual institutional investing. As you are someone who works for an investment fund, you must realise this space is completely different from traditional markets. This whole idea of a pump and dump philosophy can easily be paraphrased to cover short term investment decisions, something which this space I'd argue is 90% full of. While in comparison real world markets are completely the opposite. This completely changes the market dynamics to a point where actual price isn't reflective at all of actual value. The current price is more reflective of a lack of short term opportunity, rather than a reflection of actual innovation and value. The thing is, the innovation is what will set the long term price. The issue is that the innovation one isn't fully complete, and two hasn't been advertised. When Rev 3 comes out, and the system is fully functional, expect a huge amount of long term investors to get involved as the true value is realised. This will stabilise the price allot higher than it is now. Honestly, as an ex institutional investor myself, and working alongside institutional investors, we won't even consider setting a sell point until the price breaks 0.01, and until the long term investment arrives and the price is stabilised. We believe with near 100% confidence this rise will be extremely sharp, it just needs a catalyst. See DRKs rise for a prime example. As at now, even just based on Rev 2, XC outperforms DRK as an anonymous technology, it also, in our eyes, where extensive due diligence has been conducted, has a considerably more capable team. The fact XC built a better system in six weeks compared to DRKs six months is testament to this. On top of this, you have major innovations planned such as staking wallets, VISA cards and a revolutionary collaboration with PoBC. While we have very little understanding of what this entails, if it is what we think it is, it will change the entire alt coin space in a more significant way than PoS did. And these are just the innovations we understand, Web 3.0 and Blockchain 2.0 sound just as groundbreaking. Anyways, to all this dying crap. I can outright tell you this coin won't die. While all the short term investors might sell, long term investors like myself and the investors I am in contact with believe in this project far over any other as an investment decision. We know exacly where its going and exactly what sort of return we will get. To summarise, if we have to spend $3 million and outright buy the majority of the coins in circulation we will. We believe in this project 100%, and most importantly, we believe in the team 100%. Heres a warning for all the short term investors, I'm heading back to London in two weeks and ill be allot more active then. Ill also be sitting down with some very important people once i settle to discuss alternative investment strategies for their personal funds. All im going to say is be very careful. Buy while the price is low. Don't miss the boat. We don't want to build a monopoly on the coins in circulation but unless other people want to bite, we will. These are big fish. And we are most likely not the only big fish examining this space and watching the situation very closely. Ill end on this, how long do you think the competition can stay ahead of us when we innovate faster and better? There will be a day of reckoning, I gaurentee it. Ok I know you're not happy with the way we've done announcements, and you think that this is (partly) why the price is where it is. You might even be right, for all anyone knows. But can you not be reactionary about this? It's a solid PR strategy and it simply doesn't matter what people do today, or tomorrow, or whenever they buy/don't buy. It's about a narrative. It's about how the world comes to know about XC as the industry leading project. And this aspect of things is going very well, really. Agreed. If people are so concerned about short term price and minor details with how things are handled, they are always welcome to sell and move on. The very reason that most people are here is because this is not a short-term project. It's a long term project with major goals and the people on board to achieve those goals. Not everyone is going to agree about every little nuance on how things are executed along the path to further success. |

Over the last few weeks I have had to liquidate all of my XC and during that time have been negotiating with the owner of xcurrency.com, who has owned the domain since 2001. I used my xc profit to acquire the domain; I don't want to say what I paid for it as I may look like a fool, it wasn't cheap. I hope this says something about how serious I take XC. I have been accumulating many other XC related domain names as well.
I believe in the team’s long-term vision and want to help the community in some way. I am not a programmer and my skills are limited when it comes to tech so I have something else in mind. Eventually I will use the domain to launch an XCurrency related startup, but for now I think we should make it as simple as possible for people to access XCurrency related info, the XCurrency.com domain name can assist in a large way. This will be temporary but I would like to gift the domain name to the community by directing it at the xc-official page some time over the next week.
It took a huge leap of faith for me to make this purchase and I am aware the domain could be worthless in several months, however I think we have a huge opportunity sitting in our hands right now and I will help in any way I can.
If the community has any constructive ideas about other ways the domain could possibly be used in the meantime please let me know. Also if anyone has ideas about future apps, wallets, exchanges, etc., please private message me as I am open to and looking for people to collaborate with.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but here's what I see: 1) you bought xcurrency.com 2) you'll give the team TEMPORARY use of the domain until you decide to use it for something else So are you just loaning the domain to the XC team until you decide to use it for something else, or are you gifting it to the team for perpetuity? If it's just temporary, I think it's a bad idea for the team to use it, because people will just be confused when you decide to switch it over for your other purposes. Eventually I will use the domain to launch an XCurrency related startup, but for now I think we should make it as simple as possible for people to access XCurrency related info, the XCurrency.com domain name can assist in a large way. This will be temporary but I would like to gift the domain name to the community by directing it at the xc-official page some time over the next week. XCurrency.
XC is fully anonymous and avoids many of the problems associated with traditional anon coins. Each wallet is a node and it's a fully trustless design. It was designed ground up, and avoids blockchain bloat and trust issues that other coins must deal with.
The biggest positive for XC to me is that the team is working to make the coin available to larger audiences outside of crypto. They're taking an approach that won't turn off ordinary people, while still offering cutting edge anon tech.

Just caught up on reading the thread after a busy weekend. I gain further confidence with each passing week with this one, it really is an awesome thing to be a part of.
I'm going to keep staking and watching the progress as the team continues to deliver time and again. Also, definitely excited about the interchains post REV3 if that comes to fruition. I think this is going to get fun.

Crap haven't seen volume this low is some time. At least its heading in the right direction. Likely calm before the storm. Looking forward to the new roadmap this weekend. Exciting times coming boys!
I've been giving this a fair amount of thought lately, and I would say that one of the biggest reasons for the decrease in volume recently is that there are very few people willing to sell at these "accumulation" prices. The biggest 3 exchanges right now hold less than 20% of total supply from what someone posted earlier. That means that over 80% of the coins are held by people believing XC will have some sort of long term value. If I'm right with this thought process, then once the volume dries up due to the overwhelming majority of people being unwilling to sell, there's only one way for this ship to go. Exciting times ahead I think. |

Well said powdermonkey. It's inevitable xc will be used for those activities. However I see our end game as being privXC for medical expenses, alcohol, medication, tobacco, legal marijuana and anything else we don't want the public to know about. That's our target audience.
Ex. Person x invests in digital currencies and buys crypto related domain names. Person x also works for BoA or Wells Fargo. Those activities could be considered a conflict of interest. Person x could lose their job.
Or maybe I just dont want my wife to know I ate a pint of ben and jerrys. Ya get ma drift.
Or maybe SHE doesn't want you to know that SHE ate a pint of Ben and Jerry's! Haha just kidding  I'm thinking also along the lines of donations to political campaigns, payments between businesses, and those types of things. Sometimes you don't want the whole world knowing where your money is going. |

Noob question.
Can someone let me know how to update the wallet from a previous version. I just installed 2.45 and it's synched but I don't see my balance or previous transactions.
I was using 0.9.1.50 before the update. I have my wallet.dat backed up too.
Not saying this is the right way, or the best way, but I rename the wallet.dat in the new download to something different, then paste in the old wallet.dat. This will make the address in your new updated wallet match your old one. Someone else may have a better method, that's just what I do. I NEVER delete a wallet.dat, whether new or old - ensures I don't make a clumsy mistake  |

Just a thought.. Thanks pookie. I for one do have half a brain, which I'm about to kill with all the crack, LSD, and MDMA I just bought when I followed your link. Don't think that's the market we want to tackle, if it was I would exit xc immediately...just a thought. Yup personally, I'm against it too. My opinion on this, is that if they want to use XC, that is fine, and is bound to happen (just like they use dollars, bitcoin, other mediums etc). To actively market to this group is a different story. We don't want to be associated with such things with trying to reach a broader base of consumers. |

If you call this high volume then you must be new. A month ago we were seeing 1500+ BTC trading. Im indeed new here (one of the losers who bought at 300k). but can you tell me what the meaning is of a "high" volume? what does it mean for the price for example? You're not a loser for buying at 300k, you only lose if you sell. Hang in there and let the team work their magic, the price will follow in due time. Volume is simply how many Bitcoins change hands for a given coin in a 24 hour period. Higher volume means that a lot of coins are changing hands, lower volume means that not much trading is going on. The price x quantity = volume. im in xc for the long run. but it hurts to see my money half haha. I can sympathize! And by all means, everyone should do with their money what they see fit, but when it comes to sure bets in crypto, this is as close as it gets. I've dealt with a lot of "junk" in cryptoland, but this one's different. That's why I advise holding on for dear life |
