It looks like I may have deposited less than the minimum amount, which seems to be 0.001 BTC (though who can blame me).
ChipMixer works in multiples of 0.001 BTC. Anything you deposit will be rounded down to the nearest 0.001 BTC increment, with whatever is left over treated as a donation/fee, since you don't actually pay any fees on the mixing or withdrawal process. If you deposit <0.001 BTC, it will all be treated as a donation. If you were to deposit 0.00543 BTC, for example, you would be credited with 0.005 BTC, and 0.00043 BTC would be given as a donation. The smallest chip you can withdraw is 0.001 BTC. Chips then go up in size in powers of 2, so 0.002 BTC, 0.004 BTC, 0.008 BTC, and so on, up to 8.192 BTC. This is all explained on their FAQ page. It works normally for me via the Tor link I posted above. Thanks for explaining that so succinctly. I take it there are no differences in terms of security when using large or small amounts, including 0.001 BTC?

I see that channel deleted my comment, which is a really unscrupulous thing to do.

The onion site seems to work okay, which is a relief.

I was hopeful for the ChipMixer suggestion, but I just clicked their banner ad on this page and received a 504 error. Is this typical? I was using blender.io until they disappeared last week. I got scammed at Anonymix, (only lost $200) so I don't need any more surprises right now...
Bloody hell, that's a lot more than the $26 I lost in my first attempt! Please note my post above.

Okay, so chipmixer.com appears to be down, so I used the onion link ( http://chipmixorflykuxu56uxy7gf5o6ggig7xru7dnihc4fm4cxqsc63e6id.onion). I've made my deposit and had 6 confirmations. I've refreshed the page a few times and it appears not to be acknowledging the transaction. Is there a minimum amount they can process? I am reluctant to transfer large amounts for obvious reasons. I can't access the FAQs (may be a problem with Tor Browser).

Bitcoin MIxer (Tumbler) (mixertumbler.org) are scammers - they happily took my bitcoin, and I got bugger all back! Avoid them like the plague!
I think there may have been a previous domain name (mixertumbler.com), and I have no idea as to whether or not they were legit when using that domain.
I had never heard of mixertumbler(.)org nor seen them advertised here. How did you find out about them? There are many mixer services with a long history and reputation, so I see no reason for you to risk your money with some unknown service. Mixertumbler(.)com had an ANN here, but the site, as far as I can see, has been shut down for a long time. These two domains are not necessarily related despite their similar names. I heard of them through the video I posted above. Yes, in retrospect it was a silly thing to do. I've seriously learned my lesson.
He does warn that you should carry out research. Obviously, he just picked up a random list of mixers online and didn't test any. I can see there are some scam mixers in the list Next time, try to research and ask around before using a service you are not sure about. This thread can help guide you with some popular mixers - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2827109.0Yes, he is advertising for fraudsters, albeit unknowingly, which is clearly wrong. Yes, indeed. I've flagged that site as a scammer on various sites, including in the comments of the video, so hopefully others won't be scammed too. [moderator's note: consecutive posts merged]

A million thanks, I'll check that out.
It seems Blender.io is down (a bit suspicious), and CryptoMixer has an expired security certificate (a bit worrying).

Can you anyone recommend a Bitcoin mixing service that is legit, please? It seems there are a lot of scamming bastards around that purport to provide this service (I just had the misfortune of dealing with one).
Sincere thanks in advance.
