1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 11, 2024, 03:31:36 PM
Watching Spurs in this first half they are not playing at all like a team that is competing for Champions league football. Burnley playing to stay in the league look far more motivated and most likely to win the match. Does not look at all like a team that can stop City during the week.
They have been the same for the second half as well.

Crystal Palace again putting on a show. Oliver Glasner has done a brilliant job with the crop of players and I am excited for how they perform next season.

2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When did you realize you need to be a responsible gambler so you can continue ? on: May 11, 2024, 03:30:00 PM
I would have chose the "I am a responsible person" option, but that may not be entirely true. Almost everyone has a vice they get hooked on, could be soda drinks, junk food, gambling and so on. I never got hooked to the concept of gambling, I find it appealing cause of my love for sports and desire to get predictions correct, but I have never imagined getting rich from gambling.

3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Non custodial wallet is not for the weak on: May 11, 2024, 03:04:48 PM
You are right, non-custodial wallets for storing crypto are a type of wallet that is usually meant for more advanced users...
It does not take any technical knowledge to write down a seedphrase and store that securely in a location. Having a diary is as easy to do as writing down your backup phrase. The general misconception around it is what scares many users away and the fact that they are not used to actually having the full responsibility of securing their funds.

Or they choose the partial non-custodial way which requires them to enter their email address, and using the finger print scanner on their phone, their wallet seed phrase or private key is automatically kept and stored for the user in the cloud, which they can only gain access to with the help of the wallet company's customer care support.
There is nothing like partial non custodian wallet, the alternative here is a custodian wallet.

I think it is a wallet designed for specific kind of people that are willing to take responsibilities.
Bitcoin is designed for people who are willing to take responsibility, non custodian wallets are just tools to achieve that. If you're not interested in being your own bank, then stick to a regular bank.

5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dips are temporary but Bitcoin is forever. on: May 09, 2024, 05:46:09 PM
Dips are not temporary, it is an integral part of market economics. Every market which is motivated by traders' sentiment will always experience volatility, and volatility means price pumps and dips.

Bitcoin will always go into periods of dips and pumps, but as time goes by the dips will be to much higher prices than the previous ones and a investor will be only able to buy less and less fractions of it.

6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 09, 2024, 05:34:53 PM
Who caught the proposed new rule that was voted on "in principle" by no less than 16 clubs to take effect from the 2025/26 season? Here's a recap for those that may have missed it, https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13125832/premier-league-spending-cap-rules-explained-what-might-clubs-be-allowed-to-spend-from-the-2025-26-season

It looks like premier league is trying to hard to make the competition more competitive and closing the gap between all the clubs in the league. I am afraid this approach will limit how competitive the EPL will be in Europe, squaring up against clubs that are placed on the pedestal in their leagues.

I'm in agreement was th mk4 on this. Microstrategy is only relevant to bitcoiners cause they bought up a bunch of coins and their CEO talks about crypto a lot on Twitter. They did this for profit and they have already gotten a lot of that, you can get profit for your own investments by buying Bitcoin directly.

I wouldn't hold anything Coinbase so my answer will be to simply buy Bitcoin.

Tuchel can complain all he wants but he made terrible substitutions. To start switching to a full on defensive play with 15 minutes to go is forgivable, but making those changes and taking off your most dangerous front men who can relieve pressure and hit on the break behind the spaces Madrid would have left was a terrible call. That decision left him stranded for the first goal, cause they were playing with 10 men and he couldn't take off Pavlovic who was the last creative hub in the team.

Madrid took the lead in stoppage time and did not make close to the defensive switches Bayern made with quarter of an hour to play. That being said the referee definitely made a wrong call there and in letting the match go on for so long.

Proof of stake will not be implemented on Bitcoin. It's not even being remotely considered. PoW is a superior technology.

We already have lightening networks and wallets that now make it easier to open a channel, this already offers some scalability.

The referee was having a oercet match up until the final minutes of the game. Should have undoubtedly not blown the whistle for that last Bayern chance until the sequence of play was over. The call was very tight and deserved the benefit of the doubt if any chance did. But then again he probably was making up for letting the game play on for so long, we went well past what should have been the added time for the VAR check and goal celebrations, so that sort of makes it fair.

Real and Dortmund for the first time ever in a Champions league final. Madrid are very heavy favorites for this one, similar to last year when City were the favorites to win Milan. Everyone loves a underdog story and we can't wait to see what plays out.

With the current standings in the competition, the extra slots for qualification for next session n champions league looks to be going to Germany and Spain. If it happens that way, both leagues will present 5 clubs for next season's competition in the new UCL format.

This will mean Athletic Bilbao and Dortmund will be qualifying whether or not Dortmund eventually wins the title.

All focus now shifts to the Bernebeu. Real Madrid are in a very good position but are not ahread yet. The game is still levels and both clubs have the ability to hurt each other. We may very well go to penalties.

13  Economy / Gambling / Re: Help me find sites or telegrams to track fixed matches on: May 08, 2024, 04:29:47 PM
This is a quick fire way to get scammed. Almost all groups and websites that promise fixed odds are scams that will predict games same way as you would. Groups that fixed matches are kept tightly private, you won't just stumble on them while scrolling through social media or ask in a thread and get pointed to one.

Gamble for fun and and stake responsibly.

What currency do you want to mine?
Cloud mining is highly discouraged due to the risk it poses, you're better of joining a mining pool and earning based on the percentage of computing power you offer.

There are good wallets like electrum and Bitcoin core that gives you ownership of your wallet and requests no personal information.

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Individual efforts and the progress of BTC on: May 08, 2024, 04:21:03 PM
BTC can act as a hedge in favor of a country's development which can contribute to controlling inflation in that country. Citizens of every country can use BTC to protect their wealth in times of financial distress and inflation.
The economy of a country will not be saved from inflation simply because the country adopted Bitcoin as a legal tender. If the nation adds bitcoins to its reserves it will gain from the appreciation of the asset, but if the country does not export goods or services or attract investors and tourists, the economy will be disposed to inflation.

Even if businesses choose to pay workers in Bitcoin, it will be adjusted with changes in inflation.

Dortmund are now through to the final. Great defensive and attacking play from them over both halves today and both legs during the course of 6 days. PSG out the pressure on as expected, throwing the kitchen sink at Dortmund and hitting the post and bar on many occasions over both halves.

What next for PSG? Mbappe moves on at the end of the season, do they replace him with a world class player or stick to their desire to build with young players building the team around the team.

Great first half from Dortmund. They limited PSG to shooting from outside the box, closed down the spaces and held the possession well when they got the ball. They also countered really well with Adeyemi almost giving them a two goal lead.

PSG will try to raise the tempe early in the second half but they will always be wary of how quick Dortmund can be on the break and will take care not to leave too much spaces behind. If it's still goallles at the 70th minute, then they can throw everything ta the Germans without bothering about the defence.

19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Introducing the Bitcoin Scoring Tool: Seeking Your Valuable Feedback! on: May 07, 2024, 07:35:54 PM
"taint" and "clean" are not words that are associated with Bitcoin. 1BTC is equal to 1BTC.

Exchanges can filter as they wish, but that doesn't determine how Bitcoin operates and should not shape the attitude of Bitcoin holders. If miners start filtering coins on a high scale, then we will have a major problem.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Browsing Old Bitcoin Forums Blows My Mind on: May 07, 2024, 07:07:14 PM
A lot of people from the early days actually expected Bitcoin to blow up but couldn't predict how much it would. You don't stay any talk about a weird digital system which has no value and no history of you do not trust the technology behind it. Some of those users are still hanging around today, some of the wallets you checked may be permanently dormant due to lost keys, but a few are bidding their time to move their funds.
