I installed Version 3.0.1 on Windows 8.1 machine and it is taking forever to synchronize (>2 hours). It reached up to 11 hours behind and then it hung up (not responding). Should I kill the process or wait for it to sync?

SunStruck and fleer: Ok, I will reconsider using a local wallet; however, can you please tell me how much space the LUX wallet takes on your machine? And which specific wallet do you use? Because my experience from other coins is that not all wallets support staking.

Here is my experience from staking NXS (Nexus coin), the oracle wallet takes around 5-6 GB of space (it started with >10GB and then I deleted some unwanted data). So far, I have mined >200 NXS in 45 days period and only received <0.05 NXS in stake rewards, that is ~0.025% in stake rewards. So I will be more than happy to not stake and have 6 GB of free space on my SSD  

Can you please tell me what is the stake rewards you have received so far by mining LUX? If it is more generous than NXS, then I will definitely re-consider my position. Hope it helps! Thank you

I haven't found an answer yet. A lot of my friends have been using Cryptopia wallet address to deposit their mining proceeds and it worked just fine, until yesterday when the LUX wallet was disabled at Cryptopia for a while and when it was enabled, they haven't received any payments.

I am not going to install a LUX wallet on my machine, which takes multiple GB of hard disk space. So if a exchange wallet support is unavailable, then screw this coin!

Guys...maybe this question was already answered before; however, I started mining yesterday (about 16 hours ago) through Altminer.net LUX pool and the pool usually makes a payout  every 2 hours and I am yet to see a single deposit to my Cryptopia wallet. Can you please advice, as to if there is a problem? Thanks!

Just deleted my post. Still having issues with using this tool though, as it asks me to install dot NET 3.5 and I am unable to install it. See my other post for details. Did you have similar issues?

However, I am still not able to use this tool, as it asks me to install .NET framework 3.5 and the install fails giving me an error code  0x800f081f. Please see the screenshots (http://imgur.com/a/D4oQu). Can you please advise how to fix these errors and use this tool.

I like this tool! However, it randomly switches from English to Russian, even though I didn't make that choice. And whenever I ask for help by typing "?", it outputs message in Russian, which I cannot comprehend.

The calculation part is nice, however, my actual earnings were lower by ~10% (calculated Dual ETH+SIA), not sure why is that so.

Hello Akaash: I wouldn't waste time on non-BTC specific Motherboards. I have built 4 rigs so far with 4 different MB's and from that experience, I highly recommend getting either ASRock H81 PRO BTC R2.0 or Biostar - TB250-BTC .

I haven't yet installed it at home. Will do that over the weekend and let you know. Per my IT friends, it is a standard PDU used by Corporations and similar PDUs have an ability to monitor current remotely and offer ability to switch on/off any outlets or restart them, kind of like TPLink HS110 Smart Wifi plug.

I am not sure about the features of that PDU, but I am planning to use this APC's AP 7841 PDU (http://www.ebay.com/itm/APC-AP7841-Metered-Rack-PDU-24-Outlet-Power-Distribution-Strip-200-208VAC-/302364837712) and it has network management features. So maybe you can consider that for future use with your set-up.

Btw...are you using the 240V Dryer outlet at home to connect this PDU?

What kind of PDU are you using? Many PDUs have network management features, where you can track current for individual outlets and able to disable them if you exceed max amperage.

Therefore, you don't even need a energy meter like kill-a-watt, as most professional grade PDUs will have inbuilt feature, which are more advanced than consumer grade energy meters.

One more question, for 4 GB RX 470/480/570/580 cards, I should copy 1500 timing and for 8 GB cards, it should be 1750 timings. Is that correct? I noticed that you mentioned for Hynix cards, copy 1500 timing instead, were you referring to 4 GB cards or that also applies for 8 GB cards with Hynix memory?

Thanks. Will try it @ home later today. Btw, while doing the BIOS mod, do you apply them one card at a time, i.e. disconnect all other cards in your rig? Or all other cards can be connected, but only make changes to one card at a time and then restart after applying the mod and patching it and then move to the next card.

OP not everybody has multiple rigs running 1070s. In my case, I only have 2x 1070s and 1x 1080 and 0.85 ETH is too steep a price to pay. You should devise a better method to charge for your BIOS, where it is fair for small miners as well.

That's a real good hashrate! Have you modded your BIOS, etc. to achieve such hash rate? For my RX 580 and RX 570, I get hash rate of 22 Mh/s and 18 Mh/s.

Man...so much negative energy on this post! OP...how soon will you be able to get your rig up and running? If you are fine with not getting immediate returns, then I will highly recommend building your rig and start mining and hold on to mined coins.

Let me share my experience from 2014, I mined Monero (XMR) for about 5 months in summer (using 1x R9 290X+ 2x R9 280X) and finally quit around Thanksgiving because the XMR price was shit. However, I held on to those coins and finally sold them last September, when we had a big XMR spike and recovered the money I paid for my gaming PC (~$2k)! Had I kept on mining during 2015 - early 2017, I would have made much more, as many of my friends did mining ETH. But hindsight is 20-20. Anyways, what I have learned from that experience is that always think about the long game and price of cryptocurrency (if it is any good) will rise eventually and you need to be patient.

I assume you are offering this program as a freeware, so do you intend to charge for it future? Find it hard to believe this service is for pure altruistic purposes.
