1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Macaw Casino SCAM on: January 03, 2023, 04:11:34 PM
We investigated a little deeper over the last few days and realized the issue was ultimately down to a bug in the software. We take back all accusations of fraud of the customer and we apologize for the bad handling of the situation.

We have settled with Juan in private. As part of the settlement, we will make a small donation to the make-a-wish foundation on the customers behalf.

Due to the poor software and low customer interest, Macaw will be closing its doors for the foreseeable future.

Happy 2023

That's a big gap in the history from 15875-15990 that's 115 spins

That's because they are not your transactions! Stop trying to use other customers games as your own!

Ill save everyone the time and bandwidth of making 144 screenshots. I took a screen recording of all the games played below. You can pause the videos at any time to see the transactions in detail including the amount won. There are no big wins here as the user claims. Scroll down to see all the videos.

https://imgur.com/a/Bb6fxZ2

The scammer has repeatedly tried to claim wins of other accounts with no evidence, has lied about his account being deleted, seemingly created a second account to make it look like his account was deleted. We've offered to refund his deposits but he has refused. There's not much more we can do now

Happy weekend all

why delete your account when there is an option to freeze so they are ready to pull up OP's history of betting

We never claimed this, this was lie put forward by the scammer.

I obviously had account history and interaction with their site.  I could understand if they were to freeze an account and deny access.  But it's obvious that my account was deleted and covered up.  They messed up though and made a typo in the username.

This(1122) is an empty account i assume you created, probably as part of your scam plan. We don't have any policy against multiple accounts, but i don't see the relevance. Your real account is 1089:

https://macaw.casino/users/1089/show

Your screenshots keep referring to jumbojet. This is not your account! Please stop trying to mix accounts and confuse everyone.

I think if they post your account history here as proof it's possible to get all this information, there doesn't seem to be any need to do anything other than proof.

Sure, this is possible.
6  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Macaw Casino SCAM on: December 29, 2022, 03:14:03 PM
Also if that is the case, could you show in YOUR running history an enormous jump in balance such as you are insinuating?

We ask you to prove and show the big wins that you claim you had. You tried in your screenshots to claim ownership of winning games from user account jumbojet. This is not your account!  So where are the big win games that you claim?
7  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Macaw Casino SCAM on: December 29, 2022, 02:36:02 PM

Hmmm. His screenshot contains unique transaction ID that only means he is actually winning on your casino. How come he can manipulate this info by just changing the html?

We realize this is an issue, and will try to fix this in the future, but that's how it is for now unfortunately. I've just posted below how I can reproduce what the player did, and make it seem like the balance is much higher than it really is. Perfectly happy to help any interested parties to verify how to do this.

This player was banned from our website for multiple attempts of fraud. He was also banned from our discord due to threatening and abusive messages.

Do you mind share additional information or proof?

Macaws withdrawals are done instantly, directly from the casino via the lightning network. There is no need to wait for manual approval, you can do it as soon as you win. This user tried to manipulate the html of the website to make it seem that he had more funds than he did and convince our support team that he needed the transactions processed manually.  He also tried to claim some wins of other players accounts as his own.

Thanks for an honest answer on what’s your future plans and goal for the casino. Your last update about no account to play is interesting and somehow erased the concern about the license. I agree to you about your stand about the License and KYC being connected, Actually it’s already the growing problem of crypto gambler since many licensed casino already asking there players to do KYC while there balance is in the casino wallet.

So this means the casino is only focusing on developing house games alone and don’t have plan to add 3rd party games.

No problem ,very happy to answer any questions Smiley

Regarding third party games. We do have some suppliers, and we will look to add more games in the future. However the problem with 3rd party games is that they are not provably fair.

The overwhelming response from the community on launch was that provably fair games should be a top priority (see earlier posts from khaled0111, cryptomaniac_xxx, dothebeats, Bitinity,Loyce and others). This makes sense as there needs to be some way of ensuring trust between the user and casino. The traditional way for this was via a third party regulator, but as we are not going in that direction provably fair technology is the only way for us to ensure creditability.

Provably fair games have to be developed in house, hence why casinos only have a handful (stake has 14, owl.games has 3, duckdice has 2) or they don't have any at all. It does cost a lot of in-house resources and time to do it, but it is worth it in the long run, and for us it is vital so we can ensure the trust.

Once we have our first flagship provably fair game established, we will look to expand the choice of 3rd party games, and develop more provably fair games in house.

There have been a lot of recent questions regarding the license. Hopefully this post will clear up some of those queries. We will not be pursuing a license for the time being. The reason being is that it will contradict our "no-kyc" promise(one of our 3 core promises) , and we will not be able to execute our roadmap and signupless features if we did.

My advice to people who will only use a website with a license, is macaw may not be the casino for you and there are other casinos out there that will better suit your needs. However please note, these casinos will be taking down your details and will require KYC from you(even if they are advertised as "no-kyc"). They often do this during a payout, so you will have no choice but to give away your personal details and documents if you want to access your funds.

For players who value privacy and no-kyc over a license, we hope Macaw will be of interest to you. You will soon be able to play our games without even signing up, meaning you will be able to deposit, play and withdraw directly without giving away any of your personal details(even email). As for trust, we will have games utilizing provably fair technology, meaning you will be able to prove that the games are operating fairly yourself, independent of any third party.

As for our own policy, we will be blocking certain countries that have an outright ban on cryptocurrency gambling.

We hope this has cleared up any misconceptions and answered all your questions on this.

If you're launching exclusivity and you're adding a lot of new features you should launch a signature campaign I've checked the service section and you don't have one, you're missing a lot from the absence of a campaign, your team seems to be serious to be here in a long term so launching one even for a short period of time as a test will give you a good result and establish your reputation here.

Thanks for the suggestion. We may launch a campaign later on in the year, but for now we are focused on delivering the new features that we promised and making sure that our customers are happy with the product.

You have a concept that draws a lot of attention, you just have to focus on everything that is genius, taking into account LN as one of the things that people want to achieve, also privacy and anonymity is one of the things that people like the players, if they want to take into account that some of us want to see a coin like Monero, it is also an option that they can handle, they would be pioneers in doing it, or for me this would be something new, and not only for me, it would attract the attention of all kinds of Players, whether they are whales or not, would like to be part of this casino, if they improve their whitepaper I think they will have very good results.

Thanks for your feedback. We are keeping an eye on monero, but for now we are focused on the lightning network. Instant deposits/payouts are important standards for us. Anonymity is of course another important core principal (we will never ask for KYC). Soon we will have live our signupless feature that will allows players to play without registering an account. This will give players the ability to instantly deposit, play and withdraw without having to share any details, even emails or usernames. However we will keep monero in mind, possibly as an alternative payment option in the future.

Did i miss something or they had just said that they arent fair at all? This is my first time encountering about a new casino tending to make out some adjustments or fixes and talk about fairness.

I think there is some confusion here between the terms 'fair' and 'provably fair'. 'Provably fair' is an industry standard that is popular with bitcoin casinos. It uses hashed values that allows the player to check the results of each roll/play of a game. This article will probably explain it better than i can, but its really more about trust then fairness.

Most online casinos out there(especially fiat casinos) operate games that do not adhere to the 'provably fair' standard. They simply use a random number generator to create the result. We are no different to them in this case. The games can still be fair, but it does mean you have to trust the third party/casino(trust that they are not manipulating the results). Provably fair games need to be programmed specifically to adhere to the standard, and means you do not need to put your trust in the third party/casino.

So just to be clear our games are indeed fair and just as fair as any other casino, but at this moment they do not adhere to the 'provably fair' standard. This is something
we are going to look into as it is clear this is important to the community here.

Also, i think this is the first time I have heard a casino declaring they are not 'provably fair'.
The vast majority of casinos and casino games are not provably fair. To take your signature casino Stake for example, they only have 14 provably fair games and they are one of the leading provably fair casinos. 95% of the games that stake operate are not provably fair.

This is the first time I read that requirement for withdrawal should be joining their discord group, it's questionable, very unusual and something new, if they want to increase the members of their discord group, this should not be the way if the one requesting withdrawal has an issue they should have a dedicated site for their support like a subdomain it's unprofessional if they use a third party chat group to address the concern, it's not really a sign that your casino is not good but do it like all the other big casinos, a dedicated domain for support to address all concerns.

We aim to get improved support functionality in the future. For now discord is indeed our focal point for support, although I understand your point. However please bear in mind, the user who voiced his concern over their account restrictions "jack64" fematron is a known fraudster, and we have him blocked for a reason.
17  Economy / Gambling / Re: Macaw.casino ⚡ Powered by the lightning network ⚡ Instant withdrawals ⚡ No KYC on: July 23, 2022, 01:34:32 PM

Does it mean that your support exist in discord only, that's why the system ask him to join your discord channel to get in touch with your support system? If it is true, I think it should be better if you can have your own support chat in your own site. No need to be a live chat but can be something like support ticket where players can contact you directly through the website. @fematron, basically it is simple to create discord account. You can create bitcointalk account to post about your issue so I dont think it is a big problem to create a discord account. It is however I have to say that it is not that good if the main support system is in discord as not all people uses discord.

Yes this is correct. Our support is only discord at this moment.

no, when i try to withdrawal i see this msg

We have just noticed your username in the picture attached "jack64". I looked it up. Yes your account has been blocked due to suspicious activity. Only one post here on this forum too...

Q4 2022: Signup-less feature: We plan to make macaw a complete streamlined lightning experience, meaning all our games will be playable and fundable without the need to sign up to a user account.

This is actually what many Bitcoin casinos/gambling sites should pursue as an eventual objective as a Bitcoin service. Think of a quasi-censorship-resistant gambling service that doesn't need a gambling license because it's powered by a censorship-resistant cryptocurrency.

Macaw.casino, let me suggest something, have a TOR mirror site. Cool

I like your thinking  Cool Having our games act as lightning based services is how we view it long term as well. Watch this space.

Provable fairness should be one vital feature of any casino, so I do agree that they should focus on this part. It is already coming from the team that the games are not currently provably fair, this will put some players not to deposit good amount of money. But I like the fact that they are patronizing the LN, which hopefully more people are getting acquainted on the use of this network because it is really cheap than the native network.

We are going to have a meeting about this this week. The community here has made it very clear that this should be the top priority, so we may have to rework our roadmap, and shelve some of the other features we had planned until a later date so we can focus on this.

Personally, I consider this a con not a pro especially for privacy-oriented casino such as Macaw.casino which do not request kyc and planning to allow users to play without registration. No question that CloudFlare is good when it comes to DDos protection and such but it's definitely not good for users' privacy.

Thanks for bringing this up. We of course take privacy extremely seriously and we will look into whether it is worth moving away from cloudflare. Just a note, isn't this forum using cloudflare?

⚡ ⚡ ⚡ Just a quick update, we will be making a new commitment to the 'provably fair' standard for our games in the coming weeks, and will be making this our highest priority for the rest of 2022. Stay tuned for some exciting announcements! ⚡ ⚡ ⚡
