To celebrate, /u/rentodev and I are running a contest to see who can most accurately guess when the block halving will occur. The entry fee will be 10,000 MYR. The winnings will be split as follows: 1st place wins 40% of the pot, 2nd place wins 20%, 3rd place wins 10%, and the final 30% of the pot goes to the dev fund. The winner will be whoever can most accurately predict the time of the halving and on the particular algorythm the halving occurs. So let's have some fun and get the guesses rolling. hey guys. I've been trying to download the blockchain for a few days now following the guide on http://monero.cc/getting-started/ and I'm stuck on block 56058 (38 days behind) no matter if i download the blockchain manually or let it sync itself, and I'm running out of ideas. Is there an upgrade I'm missing and the guide is outdated? Thanks Are you running the latest version of the daemon? |

Good Morning - First, let me apologize for not posting in a few days. The sell-off in the global financial markets has kept me a little busy. A few things - PoS - Blocktech working on it, I can't/won't give a time-frame because I have learned my lesson about deadlines and crypto-coding Road-map - Yes...it will be released with PoS release; part of the road-map includes the dynamic PoS that we are working on and I dont want to release that until its done. Finally, an interesting article on how the Euro and SEPA is the precursor to Bitcoin - http://ftalphaville.ft.com/2014/08/05/1916382/the-euro-as-a-precursor-to-bitcoin/To my mind, if Bitcoin has a chance of becoming a global alternative to fiat, then NAUT will be a better option than BTC because it will pay 'interest' and be more stable.<---This is a teaser to the road-map for NAUT. -BK Good morning, BK. hey guys my order filled few more nauts at 11k on bittrex , i wonder who does this when he could have dumped at almost twice price on cryptsy or mp , most likely some limited fund guy trying to chase via's hype Edit: few of us got lucky, my order was for 1000 but few more got filled, someone will wake up to 2k cheap nauts Edit:2 i never learn to keep my mouth shut Whoa that's awesome! I bought all of my NAUT at 40k a couple weeks ago.  I should have paced out my buying,but I'm still learning. |

PoS Update
Hi all, its late on Thursday and I thought that we would have the final PoS product by now. Actually, I was told we would have it by Tuesday, but I gave us a few more days since there have been issues already.
Since I set a (loose) date of today, I wanted to make sure I posted so that you all knew I was here.
We do not have the final product and I am extremely frustrated. Integrity is the most valuable asset we have, especially in crypto - I do not like having to write that we are delayed...again...but this is the case.
I apologize for continually missing self imposed deadlines. I will continue to update on the progress.

What is the best way to keep up with the PoS news? For example, I would like to download the new wallet (assuming there will be one) as soon as PoS is instituted. Where will it first be released? Just check this thread every now and then, and follow BK and Nautiluscoin on Twitter If you need any help with updating your wallet there's a lot of people in this thread that can help you out. Thanks. EDIT: Also, I would like to add that I'm relatively new. I bought in at when the price was much higher! doh! But I'm very impressed with how professionally this coin is handled/run. Even with the small hiccups, you guys are doing a great job. Don't rush PoS, I think there's a loud minority of people want PoS and want it now!! Anyone who has dumped this coin will be sorry! I almost feel bad for them. . . |

Thanks for the update.
I have been mining qubit with my R9 270 using the old sph-sgminer. For some reason the MyrSwitcher package, with comes with sgminer I think, would just crash/relaunch sgminer over and over again when I tried mining qubit with my card.
Downloading sph-sgminer and using it without the Switcher GUI solved my problem, and I'm now able to mine qubit at about 3.1 MHs (anybody out there getting a higher hashrate out of this card?).
However, I would love to use the Switcher GUI for all of my mining! It's way too cool. Is there a way to have MyrSwitcher launch sph-sgminer instead of sgminer for qubit, and the the new grs-sgminer for groestl? Also, do we know if there are any plans to update the MyrSwitcher package to include these changes (for noobs like me)?

Total crypto noob here. Seaman got me interested in nautilus, so I bought my first coins last night. Unfortunately looks like I bought at a peak. Oh well. Figured 60 bucks or so is a small price to pay to see what happens and start learning.
Hey, I'm new here too. David Seaman also brought me here. I bought in at ~33,000 today. I wouldn't worry too much, man. Don't even think about selling it for several weeks AT LEAST, but I would say that buying in anywhere below 40,000 is a steal if your planning on holding your NAUT long-term like I am. That is my layman's assessment of the price and future value, so take it with a grain of salt. |
