1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Antminer s19k_pro - no sd card slot? on: October 13, 2023, 08:21:15 AM
Hi everyone,

I just took delivery of my new s19kpro and wanted to run it with braiins OS
...however, contrary to the official bitmain manual and pics, the sd-card slot is not there. Instead, there is a microSD connection.
Any ideas on how to overcome this? I tried using an SD card reader with micro-sd connection, but it doesnt appear to work

Any and all help very much appreciated!

2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Need help troubleshooting bad S5 on: August 08, 2017, 04:55:53 AM
HI all,

I have 2x S5s.
One of them works fine, the other is set up identically, can connect to the netwrok, can see the mining pool (slush, but I have tried others), has lots of "GetWork", but everything is "Discarded".

Here's the kernel Log which I think is telling me the problem:
<<<>>>
[  658.255756] chain exist: 3, g_TOTAL_FPGA_FIFO 0x800,g_FPGA_RESERVE_FIFO_SPACE{4}
[  658.265061] g_FPGA_FIFO_SPACE 4, fifo_space{606}
[  658.269886] ret_nonce_num = 0, snd_to_fpga_work{387442}
[  658.275360] total ret nonce num = 0, diff1_nonce num = 0
[  658.280920] gDiff_nonce_num{0}gNonce_Err{0}
[  658.285311] gSubmit_nonce_num{0}
[  658.288695] chain0 asic01 ret nonce_num{0}
[  658.292977] dev->net_diff_sh_bit{40}dev->get_blk_num{0}
[  658.298440] dev->temp_out_ctrl{1}
<<<>>>

And here is the same info from the Kernel log of the machine that is working fine:
<<<>>>
[ 2394.187181] chain exist: 3, g_TOTAL_FPGA_FIFO 0x800,g_FPGA_RESERVE_FIFO_SPACE{4}

Any ideas.....? It looks like the "nonce" is wrong....

Any and all comments much appreciated.

3  Bitcoin / Hardware / s5 miner hashing but not getting accepted shares on: July 31, 2017, 01:06:45 AM
Hi all,

I got given a couple of Bitmain S5 miners to play with (running on solar).

One works fine, but the other is giving me grief.

It powers on, the GUI works fine (antminer), and it connects to the network no worries. However on the miner status page, it shows lots of "GetWork"s but all of them get "Discarded" (see image).

Any ideas what to do?

Products are excellent. I have 3x SP30s. Whatever they say or you hear, assume any pre-order will be shipped on the last day of the month, at 11:55pm lol (my last 2 were hosted at SPTech facility and were STILL online 2 days after the deadline... but meh what do you do?).
Cust service could be a little less condescending at times, but its there and you get supported.
I recommend SPTech

thanks for your feed back, do they run within the projected hash/power rates? power consumption is very important in the datacenter lol.

They are hosted in the SPTech facility, and thats one thing i didnt mention, they now have a new "security" policy which means you cant login to your own machine, you have to ask them to do any maintenance/pool setup etc. So I cant actually see the miner-side averages, but at my pool 2 of them seem to be hashing at the right level, one is ~10% down. But I cant be sure. So I would definitely take that into consideration when thinking of hosting options.

Power draw I have NFi but ive heard they are bang-on.

I wanted to take a moment to thank the spondooliestech team for all their hard work and efforts!!!

I received a couple of Spondoolies SP30's today. I racked them up, cabled, plugged them in the wall, and I was off to mining within ten minutes.  AWESOME UNITS!!!  They are spot on for specs and a few a hours after running the new firmware popped up and I performed the updates with perfect precision one unit at a time.  Spondoolies puts a ton of effort into that hardware and engineering. The UI is streamlined and extremely straight forward and easy to navigate.  Spondoolies SP30 - Superbly manufactured and the best in the business!!

Thanks spondooliestech!!!!

Wow BTC diff ~ +20% in ~3 days. I thought Guy and RoadStress said it was leveling off ?

BTC @ 392 ? Insane ! WTF ? Is this the end of the world as we know it ?

I'm hoping for $100 or less & lasting at least a month or two,weed out the Corp miners & faint of heart  Grin
+1 !

Can someone else who is having the SP30 hosted at Spond tell me if they have remote access to their machine?
I was always under the impression I would be able to make my own changes to pool info etc, but alas it appears that I have to use email and ask Spond techies to do it (when they can/have time/feel like it). Not the most ideal situation IMHO.

If the customer insists, we're giving VPN and VLAN access to his/her machines. We don't monitor the machines afterwards.
Configuring remote access is an hassle for us and we try to avoid it. We don't simply do NAT forwarding, to protect other customers machines in case of unknown security breach in the firmware (eg heartbleed which we had and solved)

It's not an ideal solution.
We lack the resources to solve it in a better way (for example, cloud mirroring of the machines UI)

Guy

Fair enough, thanks for explaining it a bit more Guy.
I have to say im impressed with how quickly ive had responses to my couple of issues in the last 24hrs.

Thanks for the quick, straight-up response.

So far I have not noticed anyone on any bitcoin thread pointing out the importance of this mining factor.

I know!
I got stung AU$211 for 3x miners coming in, thats about a 15% markup.
I had no dramas with the S1s when they came in from the same location.
Anyhoo, the s3 units have arrived, and they are hashing away happily. Only issue so far is it seems the temp probe on one of the boards is a bit off, it shows ~26 degrees after operating for 30 mins. All the others, including the other on the same unit, show ~38 degrees.

Ouch!
So it looks like some of us who also bought in at the same price for B1, are still waiting for shipping to occur. I understand they are being sent out on a first-come-first-served basis, but the advertised date for shipping was the 10th-18th if im not mistaken (I note the original advert is gone, and the details are left off the order), and B3 is supposed to start shipping by mid next week at the latest... im new to this game so excuse me if im missing something, but it does seem a little unfair.

I look forward to being put in my place for my naivety Wink
