how I hate this small orders...

what a fucking freak doing it

All these small orders do nothing but make the order book look bad which is not the reality.

Everyone needs to remember that the order book is only comprised of the top 50 orders on each side. This means that if someone puts in a heap of these small buy orders it pushes everyone else off the bottom and makes the order book looked stacked on the sell side.

Don'y believe the FUD, we have massive buy support as can be seen by our volume.

Is this official Navajocoin's channel on Slack ? Some announcement by the Devteam would be helpful to know clearly about the Slack's forum. thanks

no was opened by me. I'm a supporter and if dev want to partecipate, i set them as a team owners

I'm more than happy to sign up for this. What do you need from me? My email address that I sign up with?
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] NAVAJO COIN - Anonymous Solution in Testing Phase ● CHAT ● Faucet! on: January 13, 2015, 12:59:59 AM
But on the other hand, I would had really liked to see something more than just hype, because I'm 99.99% positive that March will come and the devs will fail again to deliver. In fact, I'm not even sure that anyone here really knows how to CODE!

I'm not sure where you've been for the last few months? If you haven't been following this thread, the website or our github account, then here's where you can find a summary of all the projects we've completed:

http://www.navajocoin.org/projects

It's actually quite a long list for a small group of people who all do this without pay, after hours, pro bono publico.

So next time, please check your facts before making slanderous accusations.

Anon is definitely on the way people. It will be with you as soon as we're happy that we've made it fully secure, strong, anonymous and error free.

Cheers,
Pakage.

Guys, we are now 300 pages deep in this thread and we're still here and going strong.

We have consistently delivered updates, bug fixes, community requests and user support.

We are now on the verge of launching the Anon Beta network.

You can all be assured that this coin is not a pump and dump.  Any thoughts to the contrary are clearly irrational.

Markets fluctuate. Peaks occur. Higher peaks are on the way.

Hold the lines and Lets go to the moon!

Hi Guys, I've been away from the forum for a while but I am back now and working hard on this project again.

I would like to confirm what has been announced and let you all know that I successfully made my first anonymous transaction on the beta network yesterday!!!

Perhaps it was the worlds first truly anonymous crypto transaction!?!?!

I am very excited!!!

With this basic transaction working smoothly, I am going to implement some more obfuscation features to further scramble the transaction data and make it even more impossible to track.

I look forward to the coming weeks when we can release the beta client to you all and we can start to see how it performs under load and what needs adjusting.

All the best,

Pakage

I've just had a play from command line and it seems like the steps are the same as above, except for step 8 you can run the following command from the initial navajocoin directory:

8. qmake NavajoCoin-qt.pro -r -spec linux-g++-64 USE_UPNP=-

9. make -f Makefile USE_UPNP =-

I think you'll need to install QT creator to get the qmake command to work, as well as the QT default libraries. I can't quite remember, it's been ages since i setup a fresh environment.

Have a crack at it and if you can't get it working, we'll get Shahim on the case and write up some official guides for the website.

Cheers

That's a great idea to sign the zip files. I'll discuss it with the other guys and try work this into our next release cycle.

In terms of compiling for linux, there's no zip, you can clone the source from Soopy's github: https://github.com/sherlockcoin/navajocoin

Here's some compiling instructions Shahim wrote for Raspberry Pi, which should hopefully be similar to what you require:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=679791.msg9545993#msg9545993

The main guts of the instructions are:

Quote from: Shahim
1. apt-get update

2. apt-get install libdb++-dev

3. apt-get install build-essential libssl-dev libdb5.1-dev libdb5.1++-dev libboost-all-dev git

4. git clone http://www.Github.com/sherlockcoin/navajocoin

5. cd navajocoin/src

6. mkdir obj

7. chmod 755 leveldb/build_detect_platform

8. make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-

That should make the navajocoind daemon. Never tried on a arm but should work.
You should have now a file called "navajocoind" in src folder. That is your wallet.

You need to create a ".summercoinv2" folder in (I guess) /root/ and put the summercoinv2.conf there. You can also try to copy the blockchain data into that folder... could work out. Just try to start. If it works you can try with your wallet.

I'm not entirely sure what the steps are to compile the GUI wallet from command line like this. I use QT editor to compile the GUI on Ubuntu. If you use QT editor, make sure you go into the project build settings and in the build steps drop down, add the additional argument "USE_UPNP=-". I've also found it necessary on my setup to loosen the permissions of the whole navajocoin folder and its recursive directories so that when the project compiles it can make directories and over write files if necessary.

I'll talk to Shahim when he's online and see if he can write some steps to compile the linux GUI wallet from command line for you since he's our resident linux expert.

Hopefully this helps for now.

Cheers,
Pakage.

Total noob to cryptocurrencies here. I've skimmed through this thread a bit and couldn't find what I'm after. But it is a reeeeally big-ass thread. [For those of you not familiar with SRM (Standard Redneck Measurements) units "big-ass" is twice the size of "humongous".] I have spent hours with a search engine too. Is there a straight forward step-by-step set of instructions on how to get set up and running with this?

You know, something like:
   1-Get so-and-so's pgp public key at somewebsite.org
   2-Download the wallet blah, blah.
   3-Get the signed hash somewhere.
   4-Verify.
   5-Extract in this directory.
   6-Run these commands.
      . . . etc.

I haven't found a wiki or anything like that. I want to support this as more for moral/ideological/political reasons than any other. Thanks if you can point me in the right direction.

Hi Sam, we're more than happy to help. And yes this thread is really 2*humongous  Grin

Installation is pretty straight forward. What operating system are you using? Mac OSX, Windows (XP,7,8) or a Linux distribution?

You can download the wallet for your particular operating system from our website: http://www.navajocoin.org/wallets

If you're on Windows, all you should need to do is to extract the downloaded file to whichever file location you choose on your local machine and then run the navajocoin-qt.exe file.

If you're on Mac, just open the Navajocoin-Qt.dmg file and drag the NavajoCoin-Qt application from the dmg to whichever file location you choose on your local machine then double click the application to run it.

The wallet may instantly crash when it is first run on a new system if it can't find the navajocoin database file. This will be created on first run, so if it crashes, just open it a second time and it should work.

Once the wallet is running, it will take some time (probably hours) to fully synchronise with the Navajo network. It has to download and verify every transaction in the block chain till it is up to date which does take a while.

If you're on Linux, there is a lot more work to do as you have to compile the wallet for your particular system. I wouldn't recommend this option for new users.

Perhaps it would be a good idea if we were to write up some basic instructions on this page of the website for new users like yourself.

I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any problems.

Cheers,
Pakage

Just as a side note, I will actually be changing the hashing method from MD5 to something stronger like SHA256 before we release this feature to further protect your wallet addresses.

I've been doing some reading and it seems that due to the efficiency of the MD5 hashing algorithm it is possible to brute force decrypt hashed values if you have a decent amount of hardware and a large amount of time.

SHA256 is more complicated and takes longer to execute which makes the time involved in generating the number of outputs required for a brute force attack much longer and virtually unachievable by most systems.

I'm not sure if anyone know's what I'm talking about, or much cares, but I thought i would point this out.

Cheers!

Hi Everyone,

I just want to keep you up to date with what I've been working on for the wallet in case you haven't been following my github account.

The biggest issue identified from the beta testing of the chat client was that any user could login with any username. Meaning, that if someone logged on with the username "pakage" they could pretend to be me, and I wouldn't be able to login until they logged out. This is obviously not ideal.

So I have devised a system where you can register your username to one of your wallet addresses to reserve your username so no one else can log in with it.

When your wallet address gets stored against your username, the wallet address is MD5 encrypted with some secret methods, making it impossible to decrypt. This is known as one way encryption and is a very safe form of data storage. From the stored data, no one will be able to say which wallet is owned by which user, so you won't lose your anonymity by using this new feature.

You will have the option to attach an email address to your username, for recovery purposes but it is optional. If you lose or accidentally delete the wallet address that the username was linked to, you can recover your username to a new wallet address by receiving a recovery email to the registered address. The email address is NOT one way encrypted because I need to be able to read it so i can send email to it. Using this recovery feature will lose you some anonymity depending on how traceable your email address is i suppose. That's why its optional.

There's also an option to transfer your username to a new address provided you are the verified owner of the username. So if you want to register a new address and delete the old one, you don't have to pick a new username.

Alternatively, if you want to use the chat without registering, there's also an "anonymous login" option. For anonymous login you can just type any username that isn't already reserved and join the chat immediately. This option is great if you don't care about reserving your name, or you want to troll box the chat lol.

Additionally, I have encrypted all communication running through the chat server. Meaning that if someone attempted to look at the data travelling to the chat server, it is no longer in plain text and would need to be decrypted to be read. This further protects your anonymity and privacy.

As well as these new features, I have also fixed all the other outstanding bugs to do with the chat system.

Hopefully we will have this and a couple other cool updates finished and ready for you guys very soon.

I just thought you guys might appreciate a progress report.

Trust me, its cooler than it sounds when you see it all in action Smiley

Cheers,
Pakage.

@dev

Thanks for all the hard work & the new wallet.

I'm getting an error with new wallet, please advise.

version:2.0.4 (latest from above link)
OS: Win7/64
update procedure: deleted all in roaming folder/DL wallet/synced from scratch/replaced wallet.dat with backup copy/relaunch wallet & receive error

Thanks

If you've deleted your roaming folder, the database has been deleted. The database should be created the first time you run the program though. So if you just close the wallet and re-open it, that should hopefully fix the problem.

Let me know if re-opening doesn't fix it.

Did you backup your wallet.dat file?

Hey Everyone Smiley

Just to re-iterate a very important point here. It will take some time for the exchanges to update their wallets. Please do not send any coins to or from your exchange accounts until the exchange has confirmed they have updated to the new wallet. If you ignore this warning, you may end up with lost coins that we can not recover.

Hopefully they act quickly and the exchanges are unfrozen very soon.

Massive thank you to Soopy and the rest of the team for their tireless work on this coin. Remy_5, you're a star, thanks for all your help figuring out the root of the staking problem.

I hope you all see that we continue to improve and work on this coin all the time.

Stay tuned for the next update!

Cheers,
Pakage

Hi guys,

I just want to re-assure you that we are serious about fixing this staking issue. We have been discussing it at length and we have come up with a very robust plan for fixing this at a fundamental level. We should be able to announce the specifics of the fix and an expected release date soon.

I have personally donated 25,000 NAV to the faucet to make up for any staking that you may have missed out on.

So please, sign up to the faucet and stay tuned for further updates.
