Yellow (that 'third wire') is sense. You can use the ASUS fan safely as long as you don't botch the cablology. That cooler is not necessarily crap, be advised that heatpipe orientation can make one hell of a difference. Thanks! I didn't want to start cutting up wires without knowing what was what. Interesting link about the orientation. Mine are mounted vertically, but I'll fiddle with that. Even if orientation does help other coolers seem to work well regardless of orientation, which in my book is crap.

I have a couple of these Gigabyte 5850 OC cards (which I hate - the cooler is crap): Today one of the fans literally fell off. The other one is not in much better shape. I have two brand new fans of the exact same model (used in Asus DirectCU 5850's) I'm trying to figure out the wiring. It seems that the 4-wire PWM wiring is as follows: Pin Name Color 1 GND black 2 +12VDC yellow 3 Sense green 4 Control blue On the Asus fan, it has these four wires and a 4 pin connector. On the Gigabyte card there are two fans in a master/slave configuration. The slave appears to just have 12V DC (red not yellow) and a black ground wire. The master appears to have ground (black), 12V DC (red), and a third wire. Would that third wire be sense or control? I'm guessing it's sense, which would be green on the Asus' 4-wire configuration The other question is whether the Asus fan, which has all four wires, will work fine if that missing wire is not connected to the fan? The Gigabyte connector is only a three pin. I'm assuming it would work fine - similar to a 3 pin system fan on a 4 pin header.

each shipped? if so I am interested let me know please
Unfortunately not shipped. These are quite heavy. Normal UPS would be more than $40. I can offer $25 for East coast, $20 for midwest, and $15 for west coast shipping.

I've been mining here since the beta. It's been amazingly stable. btcx has been very responsive to suggestions to improve the pool. Plus, he's just a nice guy (which sadly can't be said about some other pool ops).
I give the pool 9 thumbs up!

I have quite a few of these (>20) HAF 932 cases. They have virtually no wear and come in their original box with all the accessories. They're awesome cases, but I don't need this many. Asking $89 each. Features:* Water cooling ready * Multiple fans (red LED's) * Tool-less design (e.g. drives go in sliding trays) * USB 3.0 front ports * Rated 5 eggs on NewEgg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160

Looking to buy a few Semprons, preferably with a heatsink.
PM me or reply to the thread if you have one (several) available.

I've had a bunch of lindens sitting in my Second Life account (which I've used like three times ever).
Planned to use VirWoX to exchange but SL API always rejects my transactions - probably because I never use my account.
Reply here or PM me if you are looking to buy Lindens.

I'm definitely interested. I'll shoot you a PM.
Also, can you post some pics?

Been watching this issue, but the thread is a bit tl;dr
If you mine without transactions, how much do you calculate someone is saving?
Another question that may have already been asked elsewhere is if it is possible to focus exclusively on transactions. If mining rewards are going to keep halving, and transactions become the focus should people be thinking (maybe not anytime soon) converting from mining to transaction processing as a way to make money?

So you have four of those drives but then have it dangling like that??

Tom's Hardware maintains a Hierarchy list that gets updated once a month: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-review-benchmark,3139-6.htmlSo if you were going for 120GB then in order of best to worst (although worst is relative here, compared to a HDD anyway ): 1. Intel SSD 510 120GB (Tier 5 ) 2. Crucial M4 128GB (Tier 5 ) 3. OCZ Vertex 3 120GB (Tier 6 ) 4. Patriot Pyro 120GB (Tier 8 ) If you see a OCZ Vertex 3 MAX IOPS EDITION 120GB that is a Tier 3 drive!! I'm not sure Tom's storage bench is the best gauge of measurement if I'm looking strictly at server IO, but it is definitely interesting. Seems that you really need a 240GB drive to get into the top tier for Tom's - particularly one with the more expensive Toggle NAND. Interesting to see that the Mushkin Chronos Deluxe is also in tier 3. Might be closing in on a decision here....

While Intel has the best reputation for reliability, I can highly recommend the Mushkin Chronos drives, and get the more expensive Deluxe version since they have unlocked max IOPS firmware. If you need a good price point, decent reliability, and great speed, go for the Crucial M4. For the ultimate in balls-to-the-wall performance in a standard 2.5" drive, get the Vertex 3 Max IOPS Edition.
If you really need more than the usual speed, you should also give consideration to a PCIe based SSD, or even a ramdisk if you don't need too much space.
I've been eyeing the Mushkin Chronos drive, so it's good to hear a recommendation for that. Many people seem to like the Crucial drive, and the OCZ Max IOPS version seems impressive too. I had totally forgotten about the PCIe-based SSDs. They are some screamers. Even though they can be pricey, it might be cheaper to get one of those instead of a RAID of several SATA SSDs (though you would give up some reliability).
