61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QTL] Quatloo, A DarkWaveGravity Scrypt Coin LAUNCHED! 6/27/2014 on: July 28, 2014, 03:52:50 AM
Right now this is like the only coin out there that has potential that appeals to me.

- Original concept (not anon copycat crap)
- Good known dev that is mentally stable and creative as well. He also listens to recommendations with an open mind.
- Low market cap with tons of room to grow

It's been a bad weekend for other coins and summer has been slow.
Quatloo is a nice change of pace.

I have been buying since 3 days ago now. I think it can continue natural growth up to
several times it's current market cap ($100k) without "pump". Just real growth and demand.

 Good points, agreed.

Btw, Loooool @ "mentally stable" part - are you subtly referring to urocoin dev Bohan w/ that mention..? ;p;p;p

Low blow, guys, low blow. Bohan was woken up 3 hours into his sleep to come on to that hangout. With that logic continental truck drivers should be considered mentally unstable...

Hey dev(s),

why not switch the X11 slot for the FRESH algorithm?

Doesn't the only coin, Freshcoin, that uses that algorithm take up an ass-load of RAM just to run the wallet? I haven't messed with it personally, but this is what I've heard from others who have. X11 is fine with me.

Any coin that has CPU or RAM, or Disk Space intensive requirements can use a cloud blockchain service such as blockcypher. Instead of the blockchain being stored on the user's device it is hosted on a cloud network which stores/processes the blockhain allowing frontend apps to use a simple API to access wallet features while remaining secure.  URO is the first  altcoin to officially be using it; it just takes some investing (private individual and/or community) to get a coin to circumvent mine farming while keeping a lightweight frontend wallet that performs with speed on mobile devices.

Ask your dad to pay me back for my rig rentals....

Can't hold the dev responsible for your renting too early without insurance. However, you can still mine a plethora of other coins that are profitable and at least make your money back. Try URO (x11) or CLOAK (x11).

This is my first coin and I wish for a smooth launch. With recent tests I am not sure about that. This is why I am postponing  the launch once again. I am deeply sorry for doing that, but a postponed launch is far better then a crappy launch or relaunch when miners lose their hashes to mine coins that will never have any value

Are you working on this with a team or solo?

Without giving a reason for, and coincidentally at the sound of the final buzzer, bailing at the last moment is very sketchy behaviour indeed.

Until this dev explains what is going on we can reasonably assume it is unsafe to rent-to-mine this one right now....

No sense in feeding a RentalMiningScammer if that's the case...

Really, though, dev, what happened that both the original launch as well as the postponed launch are constantly pushed back? If this is your first time working with a software project, okay, I can understand terrible timing issues.......but really, I expect more from something being released to the public... something with stability.

I hope this is all just a big misunderstanding.....

hi , am i understanding this correctly ?
anyone with a virus will be able to take the account so i dont see how this is any safe??
this is like making an offline wallet online '-'
im sorry if im not correct here , but that's what i thought
you basically made the serial key which is 8 letters instead of the private key which is like 32 '-'

No. If anyone steal your wallet.dat he will be unable to access your wallet. Unless he knows your USB drive serial No. And he wont know it unless you tell.

A virus could be written to read the serial number and steal the wallet.dat with it... How does this coin prevent USB serial number from being read? ... seems like a major security flaw. If I can open up device manager to read the serial then an automated script can retrieve it just as easily.

custom dongle would have been more secure imho

I like the idea of this coin but without this issue being addressed I can't safely jump into it.
Maybe for fun just to see it work

Custom dongle with custom firmware is the next step. For now we want to make this and upgrade later.

That is the attitude I was hoping for Smiley
Now for sure I'm in to see this
