81  Other / Politics & Society / Re: IRS claims it has LOST two years' worth of emails from former official Lerne on: July 22, 2014, 03:59:58 AM
We are supposed to keep out tax documents for years and they recycle backup tapes every 6 months, makes sense  Huh
I agree, this is crazy. Someone really should go to jail over this.

I would vote for Pual Ryan. He is a solid conservative who is fiscally responsible.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS] DELL is now accepting Bitcoin !!! on: July 19, 2014, 05:50:52 AM
I don't get why everyone is freaking out over the fact that you can pay with Bitcoins to be spied on.
This is really not true.

Bitcoin has a greater level of anonymity then using credit cards and other remittance methods.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Promises Aside, There’s Still No Fix for Bitcoin’s Fatal Flaw on: July 19, 2014, 05:40:26 AM
Man this horse has been beaten to death. I am not going to take the time to lay out the reasons why a 51% attack is not only unlikely but not at all "fatal" for bit coin. Please can we find a new boogie man?
If successfully executed a 51% attack would damage bitcoin.

It would not be successfully executed because it would not be economical to do so and would be expensive to even try to attack the blockchain.

Just because one pool or entity has temporary control of 51% of the blockchain does not mean that the blockchain is being attacked.
85  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Regulation problem solved (one part) on: July 19, 2014, 05:29:09 AM
This does not actually solve anything.

If you personally own bitcoin and are a US citizen you must report all income regardless of where you earn it.

If you are a business based in the US then you must pay taxes on all income generated worldwide when you bring the income back to the US.

Either way, if you want to spend the money you made overseas in the US then you will need to pay taxes on it.
86  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why does Bitcoin not implement anon? on: July 19, 2014, 05:12:57 AM
Why does Bitcoin not implement anonymous transactions feature? It would definitely be huge if it is implemented!

Also, if such features are not implemented what does BTC have apart from being the first and accepted by a large number of merchants? So why not implement the newest features from altcoins?
There are plenty of ways to keep your identity secret and hide the source of the coins that you are spending.

The safest way to do this would be to use shared coin as this is a trustless way to "mix" your coins, however researchers have been able to track some transactions on the block chain that used this kind of "mixing"

You could also use a various number of mixing services (inputs.io, bitcoin fog) to mix your coins however you would need to trust the operators of these sites with your coins. The result would be a greater level of anonymity.
