Greetings my fellow Naija LB users, I brought this topic to seek for good advice from this forum so that I will not miss it in life because, I keep hearing this statement that opportunity come but once but I don't know if my opportunity has come through this plan on ground. I came out from a popular community in my state where we use to do memorial burial every 4 years to honor our late father and, to troll a big party that will make the childrens, youths, chiefs, Royal highness, government officials and politicians to be on ground on that memorial burial to join us to honor our super Hiro and, we use to entertain everyone in that burial with different foods and different drinks. We the children of my late father, we use to contributed #200,000 each in every 4 years to carry out the burial memorial activities and we are 5 in numbers that are alive which the total amount of money we used to spend for the burial is #1,000,000, and we have concluded to increase the money to #500,000 each since the price of commodities has increased higher in the country. And the burial memorial is coming up December 10th 2024 to make it 4 years and we have contributed #1,500,000 to finance the burial and they appointed me to hold the money till December 1st before the family will begin to use the money for the burial, and the money will be send to my account this month end. And I like BTC investment, I feel like investing the money in BTC since it will take like 9 months before they will demand for the money for the burial and, it look like my opportunity has come. Is it an opportunity for me to blow? Or my opportunity has not yet come? What is your advice to me on this.
This is a very serious temptation my dear. The recent momentum in Bitcoin is pointing to the fact that the next bull run will be massive and if you take this chance, that might earn you more than $2k if everything goes right. But if you ask me, I will say you should follow my first rule of investment... never invest what you cannot afford to loose because nothing is guaranteed. Even though we are optimistic that next year will be great for Bitcoin, we are not sure how things will pan out. The bull run can linger until 2025 thereby putting you at the risk of damaging your reputation. So, I will advise you to weigh the advantages and disadvantages. Unless perhaps you are credit worthy in the sense that you can source for the funds by the time it is needed should anything go south. Else, I will advise you to apply DCA to build your Bitcoin portfolio. You are very correct, this is not just a temptation but a very big one and again I won't call this is an opportunity. This saying that opportunity come but once is somehow not true or correct to me, I will like it to be put this way " a particular opportunity come but once" reason Because that particular opportunity you missed will or may never come again but opportunities will still come but in different dimension or way. Just like I said using the money to invest is not a bad idea but the question is, can you replace it back before then if the investment goes wrong Because no one knows if BTC will actually skyrocket before December, we only predict and keep hoping. |

Using the money to invest in BTC is not a bad idea but what is not funny about it is that, what if the money didn't yield profit and peraventure BTC depreciate what will you tell them when the time comes. However, if you have replacement or you are sure of replacement before then, using it wouldn't be a big deal, who knows if you will earn X2 of what you invested with before that December but if you don't have replacement I will suggest you forget about investment after all it's not your own money and again who knows if they are just testing you.

Indian is wiser, since everything relating to crypto exchange has been blocked for Nigeria to access through their website, but the app can still work in the country. Has there been any negative effect on the exchanges due to that? I will say no, but if they took the part that India did, by now those exchanges, as you have highlighted, would have come back looking for means to resolve and licence their platform to operate legally in the country.
Currently, what they did was just stop the web from working, but the app people have been trading on the exchanges without having any issues. Only those who are desktop users are the ones facing those issues, which they can still easily overcome by making use of VPN or by easily getting a mobile device just for the purpose of trading. Their is a speculating around X, a user who is also said to be a Nigerian trader lost over $1,000,000,000 on Binance future trading due to a lack of risk management.
Nigerians are still actively trading. The government is tackling this issue in the wrong direction; if they follow this with due legal process, they will enjoy and see what they are fighting for.
Yes as for me India is more wiser, in the check of everything Nigeria is not moving forward at all why didn't they just bound gambling bet, instead of crypto currency exchange, i speak because this is what is affecting most of our youth in this country, majority of them rely only on bet, some of them even sell there property because of gambling bet. |

Imagine where pesin go commot go look for work pesin wey dey in charge go tell you say no vacancy or chance for you mean while there is vacancy and you are qualified for the task but because you are not from same place with them, they will deprived you of the opportunity. Now, those vacancy, chance or slot they use to buy it and the people wey dey buy am na the big men, so times dey go buy slot keep for pesin wey no dey qualify for the job or dey go buy am keep for pesin wey never graduate from school. All these things dey very annoying, in fact e dey discouraging but I go advice everyone to keep pushing one day e go turn around for your good.

If you have the passion and zeal on that you are into, you will be focus which will lead to growth because you will use your whole mind with joy and happiness to do it, and bring out the best in you, which will lead to success. Lack of courage and motivation is also a factor. There are some people who needs to look up to others before they can become serious in whatever they are doing. Having a role model, or someone that motivates you in what your are doing is very important. Almost all the things you mentioned is correct and they are suppose to be put into consideration or dealt with before going for any investment. You said something about altcoin without potential and ones with potential, if I may ask how will one know the alt that has great potential because if this you said is possible or true I don't think people will be making loss. However, this diversifying of portfolio, like I said in my previous post I don't think is something we should do everytime because sometimes it bring about regret and sometimes it bring joy. Making research about a particular alt is good before investing but investing after researching is just like prediction you are not sure because anything can happen and NOTE thorough research doesn't guarantee that one must make profit rather it will help you not to be inside loss. |

Though your writing isn't bad, but when I saw this post, I initially thought of something more robust, something more easier to understand to a newbie or a total novice, but like this, it will be quite difficult for a novice to understand perfectly well what you are trying to say, because most novice and newbies don't even know what is mining, so to me, the information you are trying to send out is not that clear.
So too me, if am advicing anyone on this your topic here, which is three things to know before investing in Bitcoin. it would;
* Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme: you can't just invest in Bitcoin and expect to be a millionaire overnight just as most newbies think.
* Bitcoin investment is not a risk free investment: most people think that once they invest in Bitcoin they are sure of a return, no, it's actually risky just as every investment out there, due to it volatility.
* We should always store it in a self custodian wallet: this is one of the most important thing to know before investing in Bitcoin, so you wouldn't lose your asset.
I agree with you mate but I will like to add small thing, most people just enter into investment in bitcoin regardless and it's not good. One of the thing to note before investing in bitcoin is that: 1. AltCoins are like the media being hijacked by the by the government.
They acts like the politicians with their unfulfill able promises during campaigns. They just go about spreading what the people needed to hear because they knows the truth would always be bittered and discouraging.
A lot of Investors has fallen in the pit of dump coins due to greeds and desperacies of chasing all that contents being hyped about somany Alt and Meme Coins which has been dumped and nowhere to be found in the market trends anymore and more investors are still falling victim as much as the hyping of these coins stays active.
When would people find reputation in uniqueness that keeps an integrity without having those campaign structures of hyping like the AltCoins and the bitcoin?
While bitcoin being the first crypto currency which has never fluctuated from its fundamental potentials right from the origin of development, it has seems so great, resourceful with reputabilities and yet some investors tends to hover over in investing on the other coins that likely to emulate their potentials from the king of the crypto currencies known to be BITCOIN.
AltCoins are conic cryptocurrencies while bitcoin is a reputable Cryptocurrency but the desperacies and those with the ignorance of knowledge would never get it right untill they gets to the bottom of regrets.
I like this illustration you use about altcoin behaving like politicians and of a truth that's how they are. Most politicians will come in sheep clothing mean while they are agent of darkness and destruction and that is how most altcoin is, they will appear in a way that they will give this positive impression about them mean while it's just a prank, though most politicians use to deliver I mean fulfill some of their promises likewise to altcoin most of them also use to do well to an extent. Talking about falling victim of alt and meme, for me I don't think it's actually greed or desperation though most people do it out of desperation and greed while some people fall victim because of wrong analysis and emotion. This has always been the center of interest ( how to earn merit) of many newbie but I actually do not blame most of them sha because I was once like them and I once ask this question. However, there are several advantages of merit and they include: 1. It help one enter another position 2. It gives one access to some task ( joining of projects ) etc. You earning merit means you understand or you are beginning to understand the forum. I think what will encourage newbie to post is because of activity. Your activity counts as you are making posts and if you don't get the number of activity require for a member even if your merit is enough to take you to that membership level you won't be given that position or title unless you get the number of activity required. But I always advise newbie not to post with the intention to earn merit because it doesn't work that way, merit will come when you least expect it, that is how funny it can be sometimes. In summary make sure you go through posts thoroughly and carefully so as to understand the forum very well because the moment you understand the forum every other thing becomes easy for you. |
