2901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: October 28, 2014, 04:12:17 AM
Interesting. What if Monero eventually became partly PoS, similar to Peercoin or partly DPoS like Bitshares? It would have annual % increase, so even after the entire supply is mined out, you still get a certain % of coins every year proportional the # of coins you hold?

Interesting suggestions! How are the Techies about the working parts, someone want to explain?

I heard PoS is not exactly included in Ringsignatures. Just PoS would tackle that 75-percentage Botnet Pool issue, hitting two birds with one stone.
Wagering a bet ... a new CN coin, new emission curve and mining algorithm will popup. As mentioned Monero is a running story where you cannot really change it's direction or destination in between. Observed myself beeing bummed over the TX-fees change. The lesser you change afterwards, the better for reputation.
2902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: October 26, 2014, 11:02:16 AM
Is there enough content to fill a movie story on Monero?
So far not enough. I do not want to XMR to be dramatic.
We could film miners, devs, bitcoin castle and crypto kingdom, wealthy bitcoiners who are involved with monero, the monero team, first monero pizza footage.. anything else? not much of a story yet. crypto kingdom might make a nice story though and risto's 'castle'.

Make that Sushi! Honestly you cannot just press on "replay" must be some new dream.
2903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In your opinion what are the most fair coins. on: October 26, 2014, 02:30:00 AM
I see the biggest address belongs to bittrex and they have not staked it. That's very fair of bittrex.

Always woundering why they do not stake and sell that to account holders. That would be very fair, and securer for the whole network.

Bitcoin
Litecoin
Monero
Doge

Clean launch, no premine, honest devs.

The first on this list has been abandoned by Developer and premined.

Why did nobody mentioned Peercoin ?
2904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: █████ ***** THE ZEROCOIN / ZEROCASH SOURCE - Truly anonymous coin ***** █████ on: October 25, 2014, 06:16:19 PM
Maybe I am naive, but I think they will find a way to setup Zerocash that people will be able to trust.
It still goes against the whole idea of cryptocurrencies being trustless...

Unless it is setup like not 20 people, but Everybody? Some arcane distributed calculation process that can be done like mining, running for some prolonged timespan. I'm not the expert on that, merely curious.

What I cannot believe is the single genius releasing his invention as a closed source download hosted on Mega, seriously.

I thought cryptsy had some ethics  Roll Eyes not sure why I thought that   Huh
I should have known better when you listed CAPS of course Cheesy

Cryptsy has a lawsuit pending, that is more serious. Still using it as an altcoin storage for the more hopeless coins.

On toppic, since we are brainstorming on a hypothetical coin: The dreams are getting smaller and smaller.

Bitcoin was once 1000 dollars and for a moment people believed it beeing valueable just like that.
URO is considered to be worth 300 dollars but nobody believes. About 0.49 % of daily trades happen related on URO, figure that.
CANN aims for 10 dollars and I had blown out 50% of my mine at all time high. Has 0.19 % of daily trades.
Admitting these numbers are below 1% because of Litecoin, Dogecoin or Bitcoin trades, dwarfing them.

Any new coin should at least aim on beeing valued as 1 dollar, like we see on NuBits.

AND should be mineable, why exactly? So people can belive in creating these coins. Without any believers there is no adaption for daily trades against goods or services. Would you accept a programmers job paid in coins? That would require a quick job done so you can sell on an exchanger immediately. We all know the Bitcoin chart is looking like all the 200 other altcoin charts listed on Coinmarketcap, just happening in slow motion.
On a "virtual 1 dollar coin" you could agree on work contracts lasting 8 weeks.

Just after these thoughs we are playing some more music to relax again

That fan did not create the subreddit, some guy with the reddit user "CannabisCoin" created the subreddit 5 months ago. I can only assume that is delta9. Whoever this "CannabisCoin" fellow is, he made the guy who ignored me a moderator of the subreddit. Therefore that guy should be considered part of the dev team.

Maybe they allready have someone for that job position, and you are competing/applying just a bit to late. Sorry mate!
Feel free to continue wining. I am voting against you as a moderator, too. You tend to snap to easily, could not vager a decision unbiased. Wrong personality for this position. Just "I want to be a moderator damit!" is no qualification. <- that period is in bold

In the same way I assume you can judge the interest in a coin by how it reacts to good news (good news & the coin barely goes up.  Like bitcoin being adopted by PayPal which was supposed to be the holy grail barely going up.  And then a massive sell off afterwards.).

PayPal rumors kept the BTC at least hoovering for some days. Face it, when you zoom all out on BTC curve you see a pump&dump in the late decline. People get out into FIAT, most with losses.

About Altcoins they say you can see Bitcoin there at Fast-Forward speed. So true.

Edit: a more eloquent expression of the facts
Market cap is measured in USD, price in BTC.

2911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CannabisCoin [CANN][X11][Official][2] Developments & Discussions on: October 24, 2014, 06:59:08 AM
Tell me one thing, why should people NOT buy CANN and those levels? What those Darkcoin have what CANN doesn't have, in fact we should ask the question what CANN has and Darkcoin not. CANN should be trading above Darkcoin and it is not, so that means a lot of upside Wink

Only with interest coming from outside of the cryptoworld, from CANN users.

No pumpgroup will want to write history as the flock of whales stranding on a beach, belly upside, bones bleaching in the sun for the amusement of the casual reefer lodging over there for a smoke. Rememberance for the first whales that tried to game on the first pegged coin, with their dirty old tricks that did not worked out.
Safe bet they are allready buying high, selling low, bleeding BTC for surpressing the market.

AND THIS IS NO FUN FOR ME TOO, so not 420 more feeling like 300

I DO trade on Cryptsy. I will try the one you suggested...and others. I didn't realize it made that much of a difference other then for arbitrage plays(Which I also don't see how that can be done but that's a whole nother story!).

it amazes me that people are selling below 4k sats. Why wait all this time to throw in the towel now?

Taken from Wolong's manual for pumps and manipulation:

Quote
This is the most aggressive part in wiping out weak hands of their positions. Sometimes during a shakeout, we can be so aggressive that we drive prices so low that's it's way below our cost price. Losses does not matter to us, it is only on paper, and we have enough bankroll to pump prices back up. Individuals who have no experienced or unable to withstand such psychological torture will usually exit the market at this stage.

So maybe they are currently operating at a loss. And you seen the Merkel guy snapping some pages ago.
The thing where oldschool pumper mechanics are not prepped for is letargic dopers who might not worry, nor even react. And pegged coins, which is a totally different field. Usually a coin has inherently zilch, zero, nada value as it is not pegged.

It's going down with bitcoin unfortunately. I think people might be worried about the sidechains as well. Smooth provided a nice statement about that in another topic.

"sidechains" still means ASIC based SHA256² mining which is the only reason I ever dabbled with altcoins.
Before they don't change Bitcoin mining back for ordinary people, I'm just out of Bitcoins, period.
2919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New reputation system integration on bitcointalk. Questions for people. on: October 23, 2014, 08:49:22 AM
Keep in mind that in general reputation algorithms have ways to mitigate abuse such as someone just marking themselves on another account. But nothing is full proof and human judgement by viewing the data on the marking ledger is always the best option.

Should people who give out a lot of marks to people be considering something like 'marking whales'?

Keep in mind that in general I do not give a damn on these reputation numbers, and you do not either. We both use that "human judgement" as only safe way.

And 'marking whales', seriously? What devilish kind of 'marking whale game' is up to plot? Do I have to believe the guys with the impressive big numbers, anything they say? Nope, woun't happen. Couldn't care less.

Well done man, you've got a lot of bagholders on this thread now.

Idea! Taken from QIBUCK, if they do not mind ... could take the proof of bagholding concept?

Distributing these onto registered Bagholders, I would suggest in my unselfishness Cool
Only doable if accessible. And should be done as a privileged sale. If you are a registered Bagholder,
beeing able to get coins for 1/2 market price over the counter. Happening each month to make this an ongoing story.

Just burning funds feels like a big waste. Brainstorming welcome on this idea, since it is somewhat new and needs more refinement. Dammit, why didn't I got this earlier Undecided reality is, for funding the necessary CANNdy in the shop a later sale is better. Perhaps this should be stretched over 12 monthes no less. Silly, or commendable? What is your idea on this?
