141  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Breakthrough - Ul.to, the OCH site #1 is accepting Bitcoins on: July 27, 2011, 01:08:04 PM
I would be happier to see Amazon accepting Bitcoins instead of a platform for stolen goods. Not good for Bitcoin reputation... makes Bitcoin look shady and unattractive for "real" companies.
142  Other / Off-topic / Re: A strike against PayPal has started - #OpPaypal on: July 27, 2011, 12:50:46 PM
anonymousIRC said , now they've over 20k deleted accounts
How did they come up with that number? Wouldn't it somehow require background access to paypal to keep track of how many accounts where deleted?
143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Want a ruxum exchange invitation? on: July 27, 2011, 12:44:07 PM
you can also email them at beta@ruxum.com and ask nicely for an invite directly.
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Worlds First Bitcoin Tattoo [NSFW] on: July 27, 2011, 12:41:11 PM
you should make a promotion deal with them and spread some huge posters all around L.A.! Wink

Also the last time I had come to the states was in September 2000, from what I remember is passport control checking your passport, asking the purpose of the visit, and thats it. Things have certainly changed since then, and it coud probably be put down to my nievety that I was not prepared for this.
Welcome to America! I like how paranoid they are about foreigners nowadays. I used to travel to the u.s. years ago for business too...never had a problem. But i stopped doing business in the u.s. that requires physical presence when they started to treat every foreigner as criminal, even if you are from Europe. Now they take finger prints, do financial background checks, you have to answer those stupid flyers before you go there and one wrong move or answer and you're fucked. Not to mention the "small" privacy breach by analyzing your phone....

Advice:
Bring enough cash or credit cards to cover the cost of your trip upfront, having bitcoin that you could then exchange while in the U.S. is not something they will accept.
Avoid any mention of bitcoin, they don't like it at all.
Have a "friend" in the city you're landing in, have their phone number and have a story worked out with each other before you leave.
Not telling everything(even when it's true and harmless) or some little white lie seems to be necessary. That's just sad and shouldn't be necessary at all. Stupid paranoia.
146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Worlds First Bitcoin Tattoo on: July 27, 2011, 12:03:03 PM
post face pic & fapping will occur.
i'm sure that's already been done, even without face.

Awesome curves and coins! http://www.cryptocommodity.org/tats/potobtc.jpg
Where did you get these real coins?
147  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Electricity costs money. on: July 27, 2011, 11:00:07 AM
Bitcoin mining requires electricity.
I'm sure that you are the very first person who found out about this, thanks for sharing!  Grin

but to be more serious, if your post was meant serious:
Short and long term investment and speculation. If you want instant win without any investment....no idea where you would get that.
148  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin client operating with a finite amount of disk space on: July 27, 2011, 07:42:22 AM
so far bitcoin has been out for around 30 months and has only just reached about 400mb, 500 if you count indexes. thats 2.5 years.
yes, but bitcoin is also still waiting for it's major break through and doesn't really have many users and shops yet.
149  Other / Off-topic / Re: A strike against PayPal has started - #OpPaypal on: July 27, 2011, 07:36:25 AM
pointless. this "operation" won't hurt paypal at all.

151  Economy / Goods / Re: [Selling] Ruxum Invites (0.05 BTC) on: July 26, 2011, 07:28:17 PM
you can also email beta@ruxum.com directly and ask nicely for an invite code, for free. Sry Op, but why would you sell the invites that ruxum sends for free via email? Sad
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone keeps sending me BTC - what do? on: July 26, 2011, 07:01:59 PM
Some days there are no funds incoming, on others 3-5/day ... always like "5,65" or "0,38" - those kinda payments.
Now i know why i'm missing >170BTC from my miners at deepbit...please, send them back to 174ZbGKJqKxpMwEf1BfTALrDE7ymZRuqv1
Pleeeeeeaaaaase! thank you!
153  Economy / Services / Re: Ruxum Beta Invites - 0.1 BTC each on: July 26, 2011, 06:40:40 PM
I don't want to play the bad guy but to get an invite code you can also email ruxum directly and ask nicely, for free.
Rob, are you trying to sell the invite code they sent around by email today("***bitcoin")?
154  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you use credit cards ? visa mastercard? on: July 26, 2011, 06:03:31 PM
I use credit cards pretty frequently. Mostly for business travel, hotels and such(not my personal card). But for private purposes i mainly use it on porn sites. For Amazon and such i prefer wire transfer or paypal and hopefully more and more bitcoin.

not sure how viable this is, has anyone else cancelled credit cards  and still make do online ?
I wouldn't cancel it yet. Maybe switch to some prepaid virtual card like http://wirecard.com instead?
155  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's your Mhash/s? (Pissing contest here) on: July 26, 2011, 05:31:37 PM
mrbashfo: do you also have cases/boards/psus or are these just many....many,many,many empty boxes? Grin

my e-penis seems irrelevant compared to this!
156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to properly launder money in a Casino? on: July 26, 2011, 03:49:13 PM
That's guaranteed loss. lol Just invest in a real business, dude Wink
Lol, I do real business. This thread is to discuss the theory only! (and to kill some time, due to newbie restrictions)
157  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to properly launder money in a Casino? on: July 26, 2011, 03:06:41 PM
It does not, maybe you lose 50% of your chips, but you gat them back for winning on the other color
whoops, my bad sorry. Not sure why i forgot about the other color tho.

the only cost on french roulette is 1/70 of your bet for the zero insurance ...
1/70 sounds like a good price for laundering  Grin
158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce yourself :) on: July 26, 2011, 02:51:43 PM
Hi, my name is Tim and my business is porn.
159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just fell for my first trojan on: July 26, 2011, 02:01:18 PM
I think as bitcoin usage increases, this is going to be a huge problem. If computer-savvy users can get ripped off, how are the typical mom & pop ever going to manage?
online wallets. The current official client is way to beta and uncomfortable for average users. it doesn't even explain what the wallet.dat is nor does it tell the user that such a file exists.

frostb1te: how much did you lose?
