61  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Bitoker giveaway (0.006 BTC) everyday on: November 25, 2017, 12:34:11 AM
There are some complaints, is it still worth investing in him? I want to invest but I'm afraid

After reading a bit more up the thread, I would avoid them...... seems like you might not be able to get your coins back out.

What I do is simply looking for the problem the ICO is trying to solve and what unique features does it have over other possible new currencies

That's not enough for long term investment, although it might be good enough to justify flipping a token onto greater fools after a decent gain. One should look for more than hype and vapor ware. No matter what features are promised, there should be a strong proof of concept and a whitepaper that goes much further than vague promises.
64  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you smoke weed? on: November 25, 2017, 12:19:35 AM
I don't smoke weed, it is very harmful to my health.

It could be worse. There are tars/resins, which can cause cell trauma and therefore problems down the road. But cigarettes (particularly those with lots of additives) are apparently worse for causing cancer and other nasty diseases.

Weed can also be very helpful for certain ailments like anxiety, chronic pain, etc. You don't need to smoke it.... you can vape it or eat it, too.

Of those listed, definitely Hong Kong.... I love Hong Kong and also Shanghai. They love Americans and the nightlife is off the hook. Outside of the list, though, I would choose Spain. I've been wanting to tour Spain and visit Barcelona in particular for years.
66  Other / Off-topic / Re: Guess what would be the price of a BTC on Jan 1st 2018 00:01 EST on: November 24, 2017, 09:37:27 AM
Opening a thread to see what are people's forecast for BTC price at the start of the New Year.
With some reasoning off-course. No 'if' or 'But' though.

The trend continues -----> $12,000 on Jan 1st 2018 Smiley
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Can i trust EtherDelta with my Private Keys ? on: November 24, 2017, 09:36:01 AM
I've kept tokens/ETH on there for months without any issues. But can anyone confirm if/how we know that the key pairs are generated client-side? So Etherdelta doesn't have access to our keys?
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 24, 2017, 09:34:15 AM
Just a question....is the price rise of BTG, due to the fact the GPU miner folk are actually making $$$ from this forked coin?

or is it mystery/unicorn fart/fairy dust/bubble by speculation?

Miners can't make money without fairy dust speculation. The real reason price can rise like this is low supply on exchanges. That makes it easy to pump --> profitable to mine. It's like printing money when it comes to copy/paste forks.

You need to study market and analyse things in the real world... Not all promise are real.

In the ICO world, it's better to think of it as "Most promises are fake."
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoin Gold Fork? on: November 24, 2017, 08:35:58 AM
OP, please incorporate the space bar next time. Such block of text.

Still can't get the answer I need about Bitcoin Gold. It seems I can't use Coinomi because no Android phone. What are my options? The Core wallet will take forever to download the blockchain.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 24, 2017, 08:23:42 AM
Core wallet and Coinomi? Are these still the only options? No one forked Electrum?
72  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are your favorite board games ? on: November 24, 2017, 08:18:20 AM
Scrabble never gets old. It's the only board game that me and the wifey ever play.

74  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you still believe in bitcoin on: November 24, 2017, 08:02:17 AM
I definitely still believe in Bitcoin. But I've long given up on the idea that there is a "BTC community." Rational interests, nothing more. That means some of us will end up on different forks in the future. So be it....

Get Out....fantastic social commentary. Best film of the year IMO.

Did I read this correctly--you need to buy ONIONs in order to participate in the airdrop? Are there any other bounties?

10 times faster than normal bitcoin transaction with lowest processing fees.

Isn't that just based on Bitcoin vs. Ethereum? This is an ERC-20 token, right?
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 24, 2017, 07:42:51 AM
It seems that Coinomi is android-only? Are there any other options for sweeping private keys to extract BTG? I moved my BTC and got my keys ready, then realized I can't use Coinomi because I only have IOS.

80  Other / Off-topic / Re: have you ever buy things using BTC? on: November 23, 2017, 02:05:07 AM
Yeah of course, just something simple like a coffee in starbucks. Starbucks accepts bitcoin.

No they don't. Maybe you bought a Starbucks gift card with BTC. But they definitely don't accept it directly.

I try to hold my coins but I'm guilty of splurging on Amazon when I keep seeing my portfolio increase like it has recently...
