looks just like its going to be the same old family names bush vs Clinton.

Please don't say that, I get sick just thinking about it.  That is not a step in the right direction and not only that but it insures we will continue on the path of destruction and will have more of the same problems that got us where we are today.  Only things are much worse these days so the effects of bad politics will be catastrophic in many ways.

Didn't say it was a good thing and in fact I agree with you but I bet you that's how its going to end up anyway.
42  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 7 Things to Consider Before Choosing Sides in the Middle East Conflict on: August 17, 2014, 01:54:29 AM
This conflict is a very hard one to chose a side because I am Christian and it says in the bible that Jews are gods chosen people but they have done lots of terrible things ......

I tend to seriously dislike people who contrive situations or manufacture controversy with the intent of getting me or others to "pick a side."

That goes for the parties in these conflicts, as well as some of the people in these threads.

I wasn't really trying to get you to pick a side I couldn't care less. I just wanted to show that neither side is good.

California?  WTF

California is more like a EU state than anything else in the US.  It has social programs coming out of it's ass and has to do creative bookkeeping to claim it has a balanced budget.

If anything Greece copied CA's public employee and benefits model.

The only good thing about the state is the natural resources and the landscape and even that sucks now with this horrible drought.

Its natural resources will be leached dry though eventually so all you have landscape which is slowly being destroyed by development.

not to sound anti Semitic but Jewish people have done a lot of shitie things the past 50 years and all we've done is ignore and give them money because of the holocaust. I mean the us alone has given billions of dollars in aid to Israel since 1948 we need to stop. and if anyone says I am anti-Semitic so be it but there has been many high ranking officials of the Israel government say very genocidal comments against Arabic's and Muslims there is even a vice news episode where there in Israel and a Israelite says we need to kill all the Muslims/Arabic's. I am not an anti Semite but I do believe in the truth and Israel doesn't have clean hands neither do the Hamas though.

I think once robots start taking so many jobs away they will start being not made anymore because people have to have jobs.
47  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 7 Things to Consider Before Choosing Sides in the Middle East Conflict on: August 16, 2014, 08:56:54 PM
This conflict is a very hard one to chose a side because I am Christian and it says in the bible that Jews are gods chosen people but they have done lots of terrible things to the innocents of Gaza and really anyone who is deemed "in the way" I have also seen many people that are in the Israel government say genocidal things about Muslims and Arabic's. Which is also very ironic for a Jew to say with what's happened to them. I have also seen an article about a rabbi saying it was good Europe is gaining lots of Muslims as payback for the holocaust.  So with all that said and done I am almost about to be pro Palestine.

48  Other / Politics & Society / Re: POLL: Would you be a Libertarian if it wasn't for the Internet? on: August 16, 2014, 08:45:55 PM
I think it helps tremendously; it's hard to accept other views when you've never been exposed to them.  I realize many libertarians existed prior to the Internet, but their works aren't taught in school which is primarily where people get their views in adulthood from (alongside their parents, most of which aren't libertarian), so it was a miracle that someone be exposed to them.  In fact, I never knew libertarianism existed until I was 21, and I only learned about it through this bitcoin community here; before that I was your typical liberal, but not necessarily out of choice, merely because the alternative was conservatism which is painted as sexist and racist and all the other things no young person likes (of course, they're both like that, but the left is better at obfuscating it.)

Going by odds alone, and assuming I continued to assess politics rationally, I would've probably wound up calling myself non-political until something that made sense came along, in the scenario that I'd never heard of libertarianism.  I've always had an aversion to formal politics, citing "it makes no sense" as the reason, so I doubt that would've changed.

Agreed altho are you talking about libertarians generically or conservative libertarians.

I am not pro Russian but you would think people on this forum would consider both sides and not be so biased.
51  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World War III on: August 14, 2014, 11:25:40 PM
Theres always a talk about the end of the world and use of nuclear weapons but it never happens.
