So when visiting the exchange it'll be like eating a Mint Mentos. Got it.

A good donation to them would probably get the ball rolling too.

Hey Pooler.

Someone from France (82.237.99.245/ brn91-2-82-237-99-245.fbx.proxad.net/ France) changed my litecoin wallet address today at 3:25 PM.

Wallet address was changed to LRpwvpGEhFTocxwhxkXC3miZB9XWUh3p8N.

I guess you received an automatic notification stating that your payout address was modified from some IP that is not yours.
That would mean your account was hacked by someone who managed to find out your password in some way or another. If you haven't done so already, you should change your password as soon as possible. For additional security, you may also want to enable two-factor authentication.

As far as I can see, the Litecoin address you mentioned doesn't match any pool account at the moment, and that particular French IP only accessed your account.

Yeah. I changed my password and locked my address in there. Pretty strange I've never had a compromised account before.

So far the only connection I have right now is Pool-X. It's in France and I used the same password on there. I really doubt someone guessed my password.

I'd love to see this working. Count me in as a beta tester.

Thanks for the excellent guide.

Got stuck in a mingw prompt while trying to make boost but I figured it out. XD

Has anybody else noticed the rate slowing down DRAMATICALLY?  In the past two hours, only 31 blocks have been found!  That's one block every FOUR minutes!!!  Also, my CPU is no longer showing 100% utilization.  Only 50%, despite having the same mining settings as always.  Anybody else notice this behavior?
Me and Jig shut down our servers, and many other botnets have as well. So from us alone, that's -20% network power.

Waiting on a fix for the large blocksize flaw.

Looks like the transactions with large numbers of inputs have gone through and everyone's mempool is cleared out...

Block spacing is back under 1 min - @n4ru You've switched back on eh  Undecided
We got back on a couple minutes ago. Implemented a temp fix courtesy of tyrion @ mcxNOW.

Oh good. The people owning the network are safe.

Someone who makes a coin that does the protein folding or help SETI analyze data would be totally amazing. The coin would benefit man-kind and the people with the hashes would get payed for them.

Naw. He's partially correct. When the average user can't mine any more it's dead.

At least until a decent difficulty change down.

Exciting. Can't wait to see what it can do.  Smiley

I'm getting this compile error when building primecoin on a clean Ubuntu 12.04 x64 server. Bitcoin compiles just fine on the same server. I pulled the latest revision from github.

Make command (in src/):

Quote
make -f makefile.unix clean; make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP= primecoind

Command output:

Quote
g++ -c -O2 -pthread -Wall -Wextra -Wformat -Wformat-security -Wno-unused-parameter -g -DBOOST_SPIRIT_THREADSAFE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -I/opt/crypto_coins/primecoin/src -I/opt/crypto_coins/primecoin/src/obj -DUSE_IPV6=1 -I/opt/crypto_coins/primecoin/src/leveldb/include -I/opt/crypto_coins/primecoin/src/leveldb/helpers -DHAVE_BUILD_INFO -fno-stack-protector -fstack-protector-all -Wstack-protector -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2  -MMD -MF obj/init.d -o obj/init.o init.cpp
init.cpp: In function ‘void DetectShutdownThread(boost::thread_group*)’:
init.cpp:130:8: error: ‘fGenerate’ was not declared in this scope

Where is the best place to ask for help? Unfortunately Github issues are not enabled for the primecoin repository.

Do you have boost installed?
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 20, 2013, 07:41:18 AM
Nobody knows. There's no way to reliably test it.

I might be getting some hardware next week that I can run several instances of primecoin on, with 1M, 2M, 4M sievesize etc. Then I can do some statistical analysis on the results. But it will be one of those "the longer you leave it, the better the results" kind of things so it might take a while : Huh

If you're using windows to run the tests I got some strange results. I ran several short tests and primecoin-qt always found blocks faster than primecoind and I mean MUCH faster. 300-600% faster. All of my primcoind tests only found 10 (I found that extremely strange) blocks and within that same time period I'd find 30-60 using primecoin-qt.

This was with various sieve settings. 500k, 1million 1.5 million. My test period was only an hour though.

1-3 days might be enough to get an average.
75  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Server power connecter. on: July 19, 2013, 10:12:31 PM
Looks like I found my answer. Just had to change the search terms a bit.

http://www.molex.com/molex/languages/main_mlang.jsp;jsessionid=bXvetZ1hR4TJkUCHaS8p7w**.node0?fileName=/chinese/AppIn/blade_server.htm&channel=Industries&pageTitle=Servers:%20Blade%20Server&chanLink=Servers&progLink=Blade+Server

Looks like you'd need 3-4 more pieces to get one of these working. I guess I'll just buy a server that has the normal AC computer connector.
76  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Server power connecter. on: July 19, 2013, 10:04:56 PM
Really?

This thread had 95 views. That makes me assume not many people know what it is.

I have done Google and eBay searches and not found anything.

If you know what it is can you enlighten me?

Could someone direct me to the rack/ power device that this connects to?

I think we need a fancy shmancy graph.
