This is not about tagging someone as a scammer, is about BANNING you from here, that's my motive. You hurt Bitcoin and everybody here more than you help. And that's a fact, not just a opinion.

I say BAN this guy, immediatly!

This guy should be banned already for any number of the posts he's made here.

In fact this board with it's "no ban" policy is nothing more than a breeding ground for criminals and scammers. Even if once the mods identify you as a scammer you don't get banned, all you get is a little badge on your name and a finger wagged at you. Seriously, what the fuck?
862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin 2 Release - Monday 10th October 23:35 UTC on: October 17, 2011, 08:35:39 PM
Will Solidcoin 3 also be ready for the Bitcoin collapse ? or is that just Solidcoin 2 that will be ready for the collapse ?
Obviously Solidcoin 1 wasn't ready.....

Solidcoin is indeed ready and waiting for the Bitcoin collapse. Judging by the drop to well under $2.50 today we won't have to wait too much longer  Kiss
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin Now officially most secure p2p currency on: October 15, 2011, 05:39:42 PM
you can't trust me and others to not be nefarious the network will do whatever those binaries want.

Finally, some honesty!

Deliberately quoting out of context is the last refuge of someone who has no valid point to make.
864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto X Change - Public message regarding alt chains on: October 15, 2011, 05:34:25 PM

As a business, our goal is to become the primary Bitcoin exchange. Our goal is long-term profit and success. To achieve this, of course we must make every effort to be the most stable/secure/efficient exchange. During our development over the past months, we saw the MtGox fiasco and the other hackings and security breaches. We are taking these things very seriously. We have the most to lose from a security breech, and the interests of ourselves and our customers are strongly aligned in this regard.

I just hope you realise the very people coming to you now as polite, "impartial" advisors and whispering poison in your ear about Solidcoin are the very same people that are responsible for those hacks, scams, security "breeches" (sic) and attacks?

Perhaps you will look back upon this time and realise this, perhaps not. Just wanted to put it out there.

GUYS! I just searched google for the term "This thread is comedy gold" and got 31'000 hits!!!!111```!

Coinhunter isn't just posting with multiple identotes on THIS forum, He's doing it on EVERY FORUM ALL OVER THE FUCKING WORLD?!!?"?!"$££%

... Either that or it's a fairly common phrase in common usage.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto X Change - Public message regarding alt chains on: October 15, 2011, 03:44:26 PM
The Bitcoin trolls do seem to have a lot of money to throw around to get people to support the shitty altcoins they create. BTC-E has only added their currencies because they have paid them to do so. I suspect Crypto-Xchange is in the same position, being offered a large bribe to accept Litecoin.

These guys have made a lot of money through early mining and still have a buttload of Bitcoins they need to offload, so Solidcoin coming along and making Bitcoin look like the piece of crap that it really is is potentially very damaging to the value of their biggest remaining asset, the massive amounts of Bitcoin they still hold.

The alternative chains they are creating now are nothing more than a cheap and easy way to pump and dump a secondary market and increase their overall holding of Bitcoins.

Solidcoin is the only alt coin which has had a significant number of people mining it right from the start, so there are no pump and dump early adopters waiting in the shadows. The "pre-mined" coins BTCExpress likes to mention in every single post are in fact un-spendable by design, and are simply there to facilitate the 51% attack protection.

Solidcoin doesn't need Crypto-Xchanger to survive, but it would be nice if they would show their support rather than listening to people with a hidden agenda.

I've been stuck at block 16709 for a while. Is there something to be worried about?

No I don't think so. Maybe restart SolidCoin app or your PC? Block 18722 here.
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin 2 Release - Monday 10th October 23:35 UTC on: October 11, 2011, 01:26:52 PM
If it's true that only 1/2 the blocks are generates, it doesn't look so bad.  That would mean ~ 250k coins generated in the last 12h.

You're absolutely right of course, I forgot about that.
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin 2 Release - Monday 10th October 23:35 UTC on: October 11, 2011, 01:08:11 PM
I got my first block, goodness, this is quite a hard coin to mine!  The difficulty is now more than 500, can't believe my luck.

Nice! Bear in mind you got your own block solo mining in less than 12 hours. Try doing that with BTC, even with 5 fast GPUs, and let me know how you get on Wink

Because GUI improvements were amongst the biggest of worries when the blockchain was locked down for weeks on end.

Well yes and no, of course a nice GUI is important, crypto currencies will live and die by how many people use them. Of course we need and want to support the Linux CLI crowd, which is why there's a Linux daemon version as well as a GUI version. However, 95%+ of computer users are running Windows and are accustomed to reliable, easy to use programs with a friendly GUI. To gain mass adoption from those 95% you need a quality GUI.

Having said that, GUI development is a very small part of what has changed in Solidcoin. Bigger changes of more importance were:

- Blockchain attack protection, including 51% and various others
- CPU hashing algorithm and built-in miner with equal performance on Windows / Linux
- Coin Protection Fund implementation

and various other cool features. These of course took precedent over the GUI improvements, which are actually fairly minor. Expect a much nicer looking client in the future.

The only way Coinhunter saves any face and a chance of life for SC 2.0 is to claim a huge design flaw and restart. With 372,000 coins printed in less than 7 hours, that will easily grow to over a million in the first 24 hours, What do you think this just did to the value of Solidcoin 1.0 crossovers? Even CH's premined 1 Million is now diluted.

Nevermind SC20 favors early adopters at 10X factor more than Bitcoin ever did. What happen to the non early adopter advantage?

Restart is the only option or this fork is dead.

Ok, this is obviously a troll post, but quite a funny one so I thought I'd take the time to respond to it in full.

Actually, I think 750k coins generated in the 24 hours is about where we will end up. At the time of writing, approximately 12 hours in, we are at difficulty 883 with 14650 blocks generated or 469312 coins. This large number in such a short time is purely due to the huge number of mining peers we have connected, over 1000 at last count, which I think is close to 25% of what Bitcoin has, with no sign of the adoption rate slowing.

As you know, the very start of a Blockchain is a unique time where a lot of blocks get generated, as you have a lot of people mining at a low difficulty. This is true of all coins to date with the exception of Bitcoin, as nobody knew what the fuck a Bitcoin was when that was launched, so Satoshi generated all the easy early coins for himself. As difficulty goes up, block generation speed goes down. Since the chain started at difficulty 8, the first 24 hours are the "best" time to mine, as blocks are generated easiest when the difficulty is lowest.

Of course there is an advantage for those people mining in the first week or month, that's true of any CryptoCoin. However, I beleive that Solidcoin 2.0 is the least "early adopter friendly" coin to date. Thanks to all the free publicity we got from trolls, there were so many early adopters right from the get go that nobody really had a chance to accumulate a vast fortune cheaply. Also, the fast difficulty retargets mean that the window of opportunity for anyone to easily accumulate a lot of coins mining is very small, much smaller than any other coin to date.

As you also know, the 1.1 million pre-mined coins represent the coins from the old 1.04 Blockchain. When the Solidcoin Block Explorer comes online, you will be able to see what has happened to them, but I'll give you a sneak preview: They have all been transferred back to their original owners from Solidcoin 1.04 (with the exception of those that were lost on the Mooncoin exchange which will be handled by a separate process later on). As I mentioned in my earlier post, everyone I've spoken to so far has been successful in importing their old wallet.dat from Solidcoin 1.04 and has access to their old coins.

If the target is 180s/blk, then looks like there is quite a ways to go. How you think 5s blocks are 'normal' this long after launch is beyond me.  Even TBX (which had a much-less hyped launch) reached equilibrium within the first 12hrs or so (I think).

Indeed there is a ways to go, we are only 12 hours in. Short blocks are indeed normal for this stage in the blockchain, especially when you have so many people mining as hard and as fast as they can. The Tenebrix client (RIP) was an ugly mess, not many people installed it, hence the quick stabilisation of block generation rate for that project. It simply didn't have the mass adoption and hashing power behind it that SC2 does.

So, ladies and gentletrolls, it does appear that RealSolid has delivered on every promise he has made to date, and exceeded all expectations in the process.
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin 2 Release - Monday 10th October 23:35 UTC on: October 11, 2011, 04:10:45 AM
I'm pleased to announce that Solidcoin 2 is up and running and working well, no sign of any impact from the supposed attacks that have been often promised but never delivered.

There was an issue with stales and orphan blocks right at the start caused by too much hashing power on the network, but the difficulty is rising steadily now and we should be seeing the last of that issue in the next couple of hours. I've yet to see any evidence of a fork or any orphan chains. SolidCoin seems to be as Solid as the name would suggest.

I'm happy to report that all of my SollidCoins from the old 1.04 chain before it was taken down by RS/CH are present in my wallet, and everyone I've spoken to so far is reporting the same success on that front, so what we have is a brand new coin with a brand new algorithm, client, mining software and various other cool features all in one, yet carrying on exactly where 1.04 left off. Quite an astonishing acheivement to pull off in only a few weeks and I'd like to thank RealSolid for the fantastic and painstaking work he's put into the client. It really does make the Bitcoin client look rather amateur in comparison.

We have an exchange live already and ticking along nicely in #Bitcoin-Markets, with several more due to follow in the next days and weeks, and the exchanges are only the beginning.

And finally to all the trolls, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued interest in SolidCoin. Without you guys trolling us every single day we would not have got nearly as much publicity as we did, and there would not have been nearly as many people ready to start mining, collecting & trading SolidCoins at the re-launch. In fact, without the threat of attack there would have been no justification for taking down the chain at all, which gave RealSolid the opportunity to create something far superior in it's place, so it's fair to say you guys made SolidCoin 2.0 possible. Thanks again guys! Cheesy
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin v2.0 Public Beta on: October 09, 2011, 03:02:16 PM
I assume once the final client, the source code and RS' "white paper" (lol) on his encryption algo are released, everyone will be happy? Of course not, you're just looking for reasons to dislike / distrust SolidCoin because of the threat he poses to Bitcoin.

I don't care if you don't join the party though, just leaves more SolidCoins for me Wink

Solidcoin Optimization Tip 1
If you are running a multi-core proc edit the conf and increase the number of threads to match the cores.
Make sure to "Read Only" the conf. Seems SC20 rewrites the conf the way it sees fit.

Hopefully by tomorrow I will have an external miner running it.

~BCX~

Why on earth would you change the .conf file to read only? Paranoid much?

You can use the dropdown combobox in the gui to change the number of cores you want to mine on and it updates the number of cores in the .conf file. You do kind of need to leave write access enabled to the file for that to work however...  Wink

Of course the client updates the config file, that's how it... saves your config?

Looking forward to your external miner lol.

I'm especially interested in the P4 bit, it sounds like you know how much HT can help at maximum (~30%, for our viewers at home), and going from 3.1 to 5.0 is rather excessive.
It's the gain that is the issue, not the actual numbers.
A person to make a hashing algorithm that happily did a mhash or fifteen on a P4, but putting HT to use with a second thread simply cannot even come close to doubling performance.

Beg pardon? Where are you getting your figure of 30% from? Is this the maximum performance gain that HT should be able to deliver to *any* hashing calculation? I suppose you've tried many hundreds of combinations of hash algorithm both with and without HT to be able to make this assertion?

The amount which HT can improve performance is entirely based on what the software is actually doing. SolidCoin 2 hashing is highly receptive to HT and we've found that it can boost hashing performance by up to 90%. Clearly the old P4 HT isn't quite as efficient as the Sandy Bridge i7s so it can't quite match that, but the 60% he saw in his test is around the right sort of range that we'd expect.
874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin v2.0 Public Beta on: October 08, 2011, 07:42:36 PM
Let's keep personal attitude toward RS at bay here.

The question of "why would a sane man who has produced benign, secure code for a free software product conceal the sources" is purely academic one.

The quest for academic knowledge is truly a noble one, and it heartens me to see someone so inspired by it. I do hope you publish a paper containing your findings. I would be more than happy to peer review it. However, I still believe that you do already know the answer to this question, despite your claims of ignorance.

I have been wrong before though, and am prepared to entertain the possibility that you could indeed be so naive as to not realise the true reason for the secrecy. Perhaps, once the client is released into the world and SolidCoin 2 is flourishing, RealSolid may yet explain his reasoning to you.
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin v2.0 Public Beta on: October 08, 2011, 07:16:38 PM
Reading the source is a terribly inefficient way of checking for backdoors. Unless you *really* know what to look for, you could read source code 100 times and never realise that there was a backdoor in it.

That's the weakest excuse I've ever heard of for not releasing source code. Also who said anything about backdoors? I'm more interested in checking the reward algorithm, number of pre-mined coins, the fix for the 51% attack and the 5% tax that goes directly to Coinhunter.

It's not an excuse for witholding the source, it's a defence against the argument "We need the source to check for trojanz!!" I accept that there could indeed theoretically be a secret ticking time bomb in there somewhere waiting to be activated, but I trust RealSolid enough to believe that there isn't. I accept that many people don't, won't or can't reach that level of trust, but then nobody is forcing those people to be part of SolidCoin, in fact we'd prefer it if you weren't.

In any case, surely if I were that clever and nefarious to plant some advanced, remotely activated, undetectable trojan like that in the client, I wouldn't be so stupid as to leave it in the source code? So how exactly would the source code help you there?

I'm sure the SolidCoin community is breathing a sigh of relief knowing that you're on their side and ready to validate the various improvements RealSolid has made, and I'm sure RS is flattered at your interest in his little project, but I do have to ask why you're so keen to validate the good work RS has done when you've made it so perfectly clear you dispise him?
876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin v2.0 Public Beta on: October 08, 2011, 07:00:24 PM
bulanula, Ten wasn't even responding to me Cheesy

Or is John me now, too Roll Eyes

Like I said, I am quite sure that nothing foul is going on, but that makes concealment of sources even more pointless and perplexing...

I think you already know the reason for witholding the source prior to release, and I think we both know why you are the loudest voice demanding it.
877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin v2.0 Public Beta on: October 08, 2011, 06:50:42 PM
I find it extremely disturbing how people jump in to mine without having the source or even knowing the generation algorithm. It's like an early adopter mental disorder or something.

Reading the source is a terribly inefficient way of checking for backdoors. Unless you *really* know what to look for, you could read source code 100 times and never realise that there was a backdoor in it.

You can learn a lot more far more quickly about how secure / full of trojans / likely to open up backdoors a program is by running it in a Virtual Machine and inspecting what it does while running.

But of course you know this. These accusations are simply FUD, anyone with half a brain can see that.
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FUN FACT] Geist Geld exchange coming on: September 28, 2011, 04:19:03 PM
Just to inform you guys that me and the  exchange (which shall not yet be named) have  concluded  preliminary testing and everything on their side appears running as a clock.

Expect announcement of exact time and date of trade opening in under 36 hours

Now, I go get some sleep...

Now's your chance to sell some of the 7million coins you pre-mined to anyone stupid enough to buy GG coins?
879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin v2.0 Coin List on: September 28, 2011, 04:16:48 PM
Anybody with a botnet certainly should support it.

Best part is that the botnets ought to drive the difficulty high enough that it won't be profitable for legal people.

Given that viable botnets wont be running "thread per every core at 99% cpu load each", I doubt that.

(Those that will will get stamped out quickly due to users going LOLWTF IS THAT? very quick)

There was at least one suspect botnet herder asking me about TBX in the tbx chan, btw

Yes Tenebrix should absorb all the botnet owners quite nicely, thank you Smiley
880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin v2.0 features new hashing algorithm, faster on CPUs on: September 28, 2011, 04:04:39 PM
I certainly don't trust Lolcust as far as I can throw him. Pre-mining 7 million coins and keeping them all for himself is an obvious attempt to get rich and get out, much like ixcoin and iocoin were.

"It doesn't affect the economy if I never sell them!!!"

What a joke.
