Decent little 70% pop there.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET asset 12071612744977229797, trading symbol UNITY on: September 27, 2014, 01:12:50 PM

Why is the UNITY price below ICO & keeps going down?

It's at 0.01073 BTC (138 NXT), on a weighted-average basis, by our count.  Well off the peak of a few days ago, but still above the average ICO price of 0.01004.  At least in BTC terms.  Given that NXT was rising during most of the ICO, if you bought early with cheaper NXT, it's possible you're underwater in NXT terms, even net of the bonuses/discounts.  But probably not by much - if I recall correctly, the first NXT offering price was something like 141.

For anyone concerned about further slides, a friendly reminder that we've got ShortUNITY available on the NXT Asset Exchange. Target value has risen from 100 to 126 over the last 3 days, as UNITY/SuperNET has fallen from our initial marker of 180 NXT.

So with the Short available it's quickly sounding like a bad ICO buy, no?

I wouldn't say so.  The short is there primarily for hedging purposes.  Ideally, it should even reduce volatility in the price of the underlying, which makes UNITY more attractive.

Why the account NXT-7Y5B-J8LQ-SL5P-3ULFL has only 4 supernet?

It shouldn't have any.  That's where you send Token, but not where the SuperNET comes back from.  Someone may have sent it some SuperNET by accident.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET - ICO conducted by BTER + ... on: September 24, 2014, 03:42:20 PM
Looks like a load of people are dumping to make quick profits.
Assuming they are bought by SuperNET, once the buy wall's up, does that simply increase SuperNET's share of the assets or does it have an antidilutive effect for everyone?

I am pretty sure the buy wall will be on the NXT AE rather than BTER.

And no, that NAV doesn't change based on who owns the shares. I assume he will work like a market maker... buy at NAV and sell at some small amount above NAV.

I can't be bothered to go looking it up, but my recollection is that James planned to implement the buy wall on both AE and BTER.  Could be wrong.  Often am.

As the BTER trading launch of UNITY nears, we've just launched a ShortUNITY asset on the NXT Asset Exchange.  This is a way to hedge the value of your UNITY holdings or to speculate on short-term price drops.  Details are here.  Asset ID: 7354273072976020.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET - ICO conducted by BTER + ... on: September 23, 2014, 08:35:11 PM

If that's the case, 571243.1402 + 30% = 742616.08226

Sorry, just not adding up.  Not sure what I'm missing here.

You divide by 0.7, you don't multiply by 1.3

+1

The numbers seem correct to me.
thanks. can you please explain to people. I know it is confusing with all the non-dilutive 20%.

James

It is confusing, but it does appear correct (not having independently verified the underlying numbers regarding BTC-equivalent raised and BTC value of the included assets).  But taking those numbers at face value, TOKEN holders should directly own 70% of UNITY.  So you divide the tokens purchased (571k) by 70% and get 816k total UNITY issuance.

I think the distinction between that and multiplying by 130% was the first big confusion.  The second is the non-dilutive nature of the 20% (10% working capital and 10% held in reserve for potential bonus to James).  This is UNITY that UNITY itself owns.  The working capital portion will become dilutive only as it gets spent (if it gets spent) as currency, in lieu of spending out of the cash raised.  It's somewhat like authorized, but not issued, stock.  The James bonus only becomes dilutive if/when it is awarded, which is a nice problem to have.

Also, regarding the buywall - people should view this both as a courtesy backstop (it shouldn't need to be there if the market is anywhere close to efficient, but it gives peace of mind, and a guaranteed opportunity to cash out if someone really needs liquidity) and as an additional opportunity for those who plan to hold long-term.  Just as companies will buy back their own stock when they feel it is undervalued, you don't want your "company" to always be trying to buy back shares at the fair market price.  If there are temporary market disruptions, or occasional panic sells, UNITY buying back its own shares at a discount is accretive to you the UNITY holder.  It increases your percentage ownership at a favorable price.

Forgive me if this has been addressed elsewhere, but does the new bonus provision control for the possibility of a follow-on offering?  Such an event could significantly increase the SuperNET market cap (possibly triggering the bonus(es)), without benefiting existing UNITY holders on a per-token basis.  I wouldn't expect James to contemplate such a maneuver surreptitiously, but at the same time, a follow-on offering may at some point make sense, and it would be a shame to have the appearance of a conflict of interest in major financing decisions.

A simple tweak might be to explicitly compare the market cap of only the ICO-issued tokens, not any that may be subsequently issued.
There are no plans for any such follow on offerings. In any case such a thing would require its own vote and if it is prior to the end of next year, we can always adjust the 3x and 10x to be the price of each asset, instead of overall marketcap.

James

Good enough for me.

A brief illustrated history of ShortBTCD, for anyone curious about how the pricing plays out.

(Note: the plots only show the daily reference price for BTCD/BTC and ShortBTCD, not the intraday fluctuations (except the last price point, which is current intraday), which is why you can get trades that deviate from the daily markers.)

Knocking off for the evening, but in case anyone else is potentially interested, my mgwBTCD bids (235 of them, from 170-176 NXT each; about 3 BTC) are still in place on the NXT Asset Exchange.  With the additional slide in BTCD/BTC, they represent up to a 7% premium over the prevailing price (about 0.0136 BTC each, based on current NXT and BTCD prices).  Perhaps someone with both a Bittrex account a MGW-enabled NXT wallet wants to grab the arbitrage opportunity.

I'm looking to purchase around 5 BTC-worth of BTCD and am trying to do so via mgwBTCD on the Nxt asset exchange, but volumes there seem to have dried up a bit lately.  I'm offering 170-175 NXT (5-8% premium to the current fair value of 161).  If interested, you can either go fill some of those bids or you can message me if you want to make a trade off-exchange.

I have 45 btcd assets that has been sitting around for a while, most is in the wallet for staking, and I don't mind selling them off to your buy order to help. Looks like someone has placed a bid for 1 NXT higher so it will eat up the first five but you should get the rest.

Just saw that fill - many thanks.  Still looking to buy another 100-200 mgwBTCD, so anyone else who wants to pick up those bids, feel free.

ShortBTCD going dormant for the night in a few minutes.  Currently 53/55.

I have a few questions about shortBTCD
OK, I understand that if BTCD goes down by 10%, shortBTCD goes up by 10%
If lets say I have 10BTCD what is the equivalent of this in shortBTCD in order to receive for example the -10% loss of BTCD ?

Is shortBTCD in an exchange? Where do I sell/buy/trade it?

To buy it for the first time, do I have to send NXT ?

ShortBTCD is traded on the NXT asset exchange.  Its current target price is just over 80 Nxt (based on BTCD/BTC at an average price of 0.01086 as I type).  With Nxt at 0.000635 BTC, each ShortBTCD would therefore be worth about 0.005 BTC at the moment.  If you wanted to hedge 10 BTCD (~0.1 BTC), then, you'd need about 20 ShortBTCD.

Of course these calculations change as BTCD/BTC and NXT/BTC fluctuate (which they're both doing at the moment).

Edit: Also, please make sure you understand the calculation methodology for the intraday and daily price changes before buying.  The asset tracks the inverse daily percentage gain, which mathematically can diverge from the aggregate inverse percentage gain over time. Details at the discussion thread.

What's up with shortBTCD? Should be around 80 now, not 120
since BTCD went up, shortBTCD went down

What is a shortBTCD?

A NXT asset with daily percentage gain/loss inverse to that of BTCD/BTC.

Details here.

Damn, that looks interesting, any chance of a monero version on the Nxt asset exchange?

Not immediately (at least not by this issuer), but if enough demand presents itself, maybe in the future.  We do also have ShortBTC and ShortNXT though.

Bid/ask is 80/82.  Where are you seeing 120?

This gonna be all the time all the time commercialization of this thread...?

No, and my apologies!

We'd gotten multiple requests both for clarification and wider dissemination of updates of pricing, procedures, and uptime - was just trying to accommodate.  Certainly don't want to spam the thread, though.  Consider this an invitation to track the action at the dedicated discussion thread on Nxt Forum, so this thread can be relieved of it going forward.
