You can loose your job, get sick or find love and they will all impact your ability to contribute to the forum.  Nothing ever stays the same - you can hope it doesn't, but sometimes life will throw you a curve ball.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The huge amount of motivation MERIT give newbies on: May 26, 2023, 02:09:02 AM
My question is are the high ranking acknowledging when a newbie is trying to deliver daily and how hard is it for them to reward such newbie with merit?

Merits are given out subjectively and aren't dependent on whether or not you are a newbie or legendary.  In some parts of the forum they are more a popularity contest than reward for good posts.

Merit givers hardly ever go looking for quality posts in the various campaigns etc.  Just be yourself and make quality posts.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you give one reason why I should buy bitcoin? on: May 26, 2023, 01:38:12 AM
Bitcoin has become a store of wealth as opposed to its original purpose of being a method of online transactions between two entities.  In that vein, having a small portion of your portfolio in Bitcoins is a sensible idea.  Don't chase the next big thing, chances are it isn't that great.

I'm sorry - I have corrected my post, it should read Dabs and others.

yet Dabs gleefully deleted 43 posts of mine in my one RussiaCoin thread without warning then claims no one else posted.

LoyceV captures deleted posts.  If this is true, you should make a thread about it.

This is the thread I talked about it in.  I can see mprep posts, but not Dabs.

5  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: December 03, 2020, 01:23:22 AM
Dabs is still the biggest Trust Selfscratcher in the list, he went from +8 to +42 when he entered DT1 again. Many users on his Trust list are only on DT2 for leaving Dabs positive feedback. That's not right.

Dabs averts his gaze when you post many times in your many worthy threads with no other contributors, yet Dabs and others gleefully deleted 43 posts of mine in my one RussiaCoin thread without warning then claims no one else posted.  How is that not punished?  Now we hear Dabs pats himself on back and gives himself reward?  Is this true?  Are management asleep at wheel?  Maybe we should all give management red marks to get them to do their jobs.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does bounty still kind of worth on 2020? on: October 05, 2020, 01:09:05 AM
Bringing awareness to a coin that is launching by giving out that coins crypto is a great way to bring awareness to the coin, but if those coins end up on exchanges all it will do is drive the price back down.  Good for the devs who can snap them back up again for a song.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It is not easy to make money in cryptocurrency on: October 05, 2020, 01:04:09 AM
Airdrops of ones own coin is a way to spread awareness to the masses, but as far as giving out wealth you would be better off giving out cash, or bitcoins.
8  Other / Meta / Re: Deleting 5 year old posts on: May 15, 2020, 06:01:16 AM
Some idiot is going on an unnecessary reporting spree. It's mostly pointless reporting the majority of old posts but if someone reports something  then some mod will likely handle it. I don't think we should de-facto prohibit people from reporting all old posts but reporting low-quality posts from 5 years ago isn't really needed.

Mr Hilarious has been feuding with Mr Mprep for many many years about his posts been deleted.

Quote
Can we get the option of seeing our reports that get marked as bad? I got a bad report yesterday for the first time in a while and I have no idea what it was for. I understand they're kept on the system for two weeks so I think it'd be beneficial if we could see the ones that have been rejected. This way at least people can learn from their mistakes and get a general idea of what should and shouldn't be reported.
I handled a lot of your reports recently. Guess I'm on a similar time line .I marked one as bad since you reported a thread in a Beginners section that actually fit there. That's it, I think.

So hilariousandco has known for at least six years that mprep shows no mercy when deleting posts.

I would guess the moderators are reaching for violations years back, because real time violations are decreasing.

Nah, there are actually multiple people reporting some very old posts.

How many votes does it take to delete a reported post?  Does anyone check if the admin says "yes" to one report, but "no" to another report (even when they are in essence the same type of report???) and how does mod malevolent know who made report? and how many reports are not looked at? (as in they say "yes" to some people's posts, but turn blind eyes on other reports??)
9  Other / Meta / Re: Deleting 5 year old posts on: May 07, 2020, 10:05:19 AM
Today I found over 60 posts in my inbox that were all messages saying I had posts deleted.

A few short weeks ago humble #RussiaCoin has also fallen foul of mprp's heavy hand with more than 10% of all of our post having been deleted.  The Russiacoin thread was started June 7 2015 and 43 of our posts in our own thread having been deleted by mprp all the way back to 2015 in the one thread.  Some but not all of our posts have been rolled into one post here and there, but others were deleted without clear reason.  When I tried to ask mr.mprp to explain why he didn't even issue warning he said its not his job to warn, just delete posts for being multiple posts.  There have been some other threads in the weeks that followed https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5241332.msg54323822#msg54323822 is one about many people's posts being deleted without warning.

It appears that someone was implementing a script that uses flawed logic.

I have found someone called Suchmoon has even made an app or something here ([HACK] One-click mod report, not for the faint of heart) and even another link for a competition who can mark the most posts (Top reporters! ) so there is a race underway to give posters a black mark for multiple posts with an app to speed up the process.  I am not sure if I am reading this post properly, Suchmoon is even coaching people in what to say in their reports: ("Report to moderator" wording) Suchmoon also wants a second link to report posts: (Add "Manager" link to signatures) and he has it in for Sir Quickseller: Quickseller is a dangerous person to deal with - avoid

And from what I can see in the topic you linked, the multiple posts of several members have been merged into a single post.
So, is it really a big deal ?

I can not recall just now who said it, but someone in one of the other posts said something about us lower down the ranks are having their posts deleted to prevent them from gaining ranks.  I had 359 posts, now I only have 316 - a few posts were weeks apart, so it now looks like there was no activity in the #RussiaCoin thread for many months which is a blow to the stomach since our coins were lost in both Cryptopia and Tradesatoshi (run by the same people FYI)

I'd say it's not necessary, and even if posts aren't deleted, merging them can break other links (such as Reference links in Trust ratings).

The mods in the other threads will tell you they all have different opinions about what does and does not get deleted.

====

How often does bpip get updated? Sir Quickseller's post count is 14492 but on bpip it says

 Posts 14492 (Rank 27 )
Posts deleted by moderators: 53 (Rank: >1000 ) <-- not 60.
Posts made per post deleted: 273 (Rank: >1000 )
10  Other / Meta / Re: What are the exact rules for bumping multiple own threads? on: April 30, 2020, 02:05:28 AM
...

I have no doubt that you can put any kind of spin on an argument and would even argue your own post is off topic if it suited your agenda.

I have joined the conversation to enable you to articulate your interpretation on when I can bump my own thread and under what circumstances, so my comment has relevance.  If you want to continue to delete posts without articulating yourself, then we will never know what your attitudes towards each case is.  As you yourself stated, each moderator will interpret a post differently, so clearly your "guidelines" aren't being adhered to by your fellow moderators, hence the continued confusion as to what you desire.
11  Other / Meta / Re: What are the exact rules for bumping multiple own threads? on: April 29, 2020, 11:46:56 AM
When it comes to evaluating what is "annoying", it's up to the moderator who's looking into a case to decide.

You must find humble RussiaCoin very annoying to delete 43 of my posts in the Russia Coin [ANN] thread made by myself then.  Yes?

RussiaCoin has lost a lot of coins that were held in "maintenance" for many months with no response from TradeSatoshi.
13  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Tradesatoshi Online: Closing on 1st March - Quickly Withdraw Your Funds ! on: February 27, 2020, 05:08:21 AM
This was taken minutes ago.

They have re-opened (for whatever reason) so those trying to withdraw their funds but finding the Tradesatoshi website closed can at least try and then see what happens.
Hopefully all users will be able to withdraw before they close down (or selective exit-scam) !

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nothing is wrong with altcoins on: February 04, 2020, 12:43:15 AM
It's been proven over the last few years (think this time two years ago) whenever Bitcoin rises, it usually drags up the price of the other alt/cryptos as well. And, when the price falls so too do the alts.

Some coins are fashionable for a while (especially after ICO launch) but the true test is their application in the wider community.

16  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: December 21, 2019, 09:35:07 AM
i have only pakcoin PAK

they hold this coins

PAK coins have done a recovery claim if I am not mistaken.

Those who have not claimed their pakcoin loss at cryptopia yet and have screenshots of their pakcoin balance should fill this form.
https://forms.gle/WjiR8HCDfmTKV9r78

You should contact drwatson84 or, post an enquiry in the PAK coin thread.

...but given you posted this back in March in that thread:

i have my pakcoin in cryptopia  ....

any chance to get back to my wallet

you already know that.

My one merit enables me to bump, however after a little bit of experimenting, I came across this:

Your first bump contributes 1 "point" to the bump score, your second bump 0.85, and so on. You've done probably around 40-50 bumps to get to this:

You won't be allowed to superbump if you would contribute less than 0.001 bump score.

My one merit gives me a "bump" of 1.0 - yes?

As I said, I was experimenting...  Grin

Become more active, make quality posts and earn more merit and then you may have more bumping power  Wink

It's starting to bite in on people who thought that making quality posts and gaining merits was useless

Your multiple merits entitles you to a "bump" of 1.0 - yes?

My one post earning just one merit therefore weighs as much as all of your posts earning numerous merits when used to "bump".  - yes?

Must be nice to have friends give you nine merits to say what a great guy someone is. - yes?  Roll Eyes

Hello again I tried out the crowd funded page for RussiaCoin dropping $100 onto the table, but they don't show up as having been paid:

https://bitnodes.net/nodes/nodes-network-crowdfunding/?coin=russiacoin

Can you confirm you received the funds via CoinPayments please?
