1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: October 08, 2015, 09:32:44 AM
By your logic then, there was never a "reason" to buy it. StartJoin always accepted Bitcoin and paypal fiat. If you believed this coins value or future potential resulted from having some currency monopoly at StartJoin then all I can say is you really have not been paying any attention to something you often post about because to informed people this news doesn't change anything structural although it may attract some attention from other crypto communities.

Bitch I was mining and dumping this shitcoin from minute one, back when we traded OG 1.0 Start on mcxnow.

I understand completely whats happening here, even Bobby S abandoned ship it must be dire.

Reactionary and demonstrative! I don't see why the length of time that you have been here matters. If your logic is flawed  then it is what it is. I specifically called out your reasoning and in your response you failed to address my point so enough said about that.

You validate many of my previous posts about the "miners". Some claim startcoin cannot hold its gains due to the people gaming rewards/interest on StartJoin and consistently selling there Start which then drives down price. I have more than once pointed out that distribution via rewards/interest averages 40-50k coins PER WEEK. Meanwhile in these early days before first block halving miners are obtaining 50,000 plus coins PER DAY! With average daily volume of startcoin on bittrex being under 200k startcoins, mining represents a very substantial source of new coins while rewards/interest does not! Everyone who believes in this community is for the most part not selling. You confirm my suspicion that the ethos of the miners is very different from those who purchase Startcoin. As you said "I have been dumping this shitcoin from minute one" - Well good for you Smiley Some of us are hoping to build a rich community where small folks can get some business startup money in a world where banks would otherwise not lend. I hope you feel good about dumping this so called "shitcoin" cause it is about to get harder. The block is halving around Oct 22 and your 40 coins per block is reduced to 20. In a year it will be reduced to 10 so take a walk and find another ill adventure and somewhere else to relish in your depravity. How about instead of all this negativity just dump all your coins, stop mining and move on. Find something you actually like and focus on that. Really I don't like seeing low prices but for all of you who just want to hate please rethink that. I am not saying you need to like startcoin by any means. What I am saying is hate is bad for you and everyone else. It is better to just walk away from what you don't like and focus on what you do like.

Great news about Startjoin taking all major alts, now there's no reason to buy Startcoin!!!

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: October 07, 2015, 11:37:40 PM
Cool news. StartJoin will soon accept several additional cryptocurrencies (including Maxcoin).  I suppose it is not earth shattering news since StartJoin already accepts Bitcoin and StartCoin and really every alt-coin can be pretty much instantly be converted and transferred via shapeshift to BTC or Start but still a exciting change that may excite and introduce new people to StartJoin/StartCoin.

Going forward I can also see how this move may help project funding. If a project launches its funding period unknowingly at the beginning of a down trend in the price of StartCoin then funds raised will have much lower dollar value by the time they are redeemed/sold.  By accepting multiple cryptos this vulnerability can be greatly reduced.  Also it is natural that many backers (including myself) seem a little hesitant and reluctant to give away startcoin when the price falls to low levels from where they may have bought.  One may have another coin in ones portfolio that is doing very well and want to spend it or donate it near a high where you get more bang for the coin.

Anyways here is the link below to Keiser's tweet. I look forward to the other strategies they are brewing up Smiley What you all think about this?

I could spend time carefully articulating why the allegations in the previous posts make no sense whatsoever. But I would rather you all just sell Smiley
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: September 15, 2015, 03:12:35 AM
LOL if they were not good announcements there would only be one.
SCH owns tons of shares in BTC capital so it's not like it's a struggling company.

Hopefully they ditch free Startcoins for people and ban the guys who rape free coins every week, Jaunda, Corrocan and the like
the BS it's to reinvest doesn't wash with me at all. I could do it but don't as it's poor form. they are essentially stealing off the rest of us in the community, Hopefully the funds they use are locked in so they have to fund what they are gaming

OK I will say it again in a technical way this time. It is not the giveaway/rewards startcoin causing any trouble. You can see this yourself. Last Saturday 9-5-15 at 7:40 pm there were 30883414 total coins (from coinmarketcap) and block ID 463376 (from block explorer). On following Saturday 9-12-15 at 10:55 AM available was 31287487 (a total increase of or difference across time period of 404,073 coins) while the block id changed to 472484.  The amount due strictly to mining is simply the block id difference times 40 coins per block (472484-463376 = 9108; 40 * 9108 = 364320).  The example time period is 6.6354 days or roughly one week of 54,905.5 StartCOIN mined per DAY and only 39,753 startcoin from rewards/interest across the whole WEEK although most of those generated on Fridays (404073 minus 364320). Also for perspective average daily volume of startcoin exchanged bittrex for period 8-22 thru 9-10 (sorry my data set not up to date at moment) is 135,000 coins per day. Thus, I hope you can see 39K coins/Week is really not the source of our low prices it is a value 1/10 what mining creates and even if all sold it would be about 4 % of weekly startcoin trade volume on bittrex.

You said, "hopefully the funds they use are locked in and they have to fund what they are gaming".  They are not locked in which is clear to anyone who has participated in backing a project or simply joined the Startjoin site and deposited some funds. I am getting the impression that you have not joined or used the site? If that is so are you really in a position to criticize Jaunda or Corrocan or even in a position to criticize the price of the coin for that matter. My apologies if I am misunderstanding you.  Also if you are worried then definitely deposit some funds and get a piece of the interest to give away (that means less start for the greedy players  Wink ).    *I just looked at startjoin trying to figure out what you are talking about with respect to Jaunda/Corrocan. They and others are listed on main page down a ways. They received "free" startcoin for their startcoin payments. I think you are misunderstanding this. This means they have to give a lot more than that away to be getting that kinda reward. You are criticizing the pillars of the community here. I once gave away about 40 start (1pound at the time) and the reward was like 5 or 6 startcoin or 12% of donation kicked back. So Jaunda and Corrocan must have been very generous recently. It varies greatly and sometimes I don't get anything so not sure exactly how it works both those rewards are a fraction of what you give. The interest truly is free coin but those numbers on main page referring to rewards not interest
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: September 07, 2015, 01:03:41 AM
Startcoin Doesn't need to be PnD it just needs to be a stable price to achieve it's purpose. It's a crowd-fund coin if you can fund something and it's the same price you fund at as they cash out it's a success.
Whatever that price is. Trading it is fun as it's a very liquid Alt but I would much rather prefer good quality pitches with a ROI to throw it into.

Startcoin has been a victim of some big pump and dump groups the last year and the price what artificially high.
Even the current price is to high and will come down.
Just take a look at the activity at this bitcointalk thread, bittrex volume and coinmarketcap.
Don't walk into the Bobsurplus trap.

It is not the free coins given out on Startjoin (they amount to a small portion of weekly volume 40-50 K per week). The mining is 50 K coins per day. Mining has operational cost and an overall different ethos than those of us who buy start because of the concept. I don't see any reason to call the large swings in the start price this last year the work of pump and dump groups. It was just all us getting in when news was exciting then when there is no more of us to buy in because we bought it we hit a top. We have large swing back down (albeit not always all the way down) as the mining and selling of probably many of newly mined coins happens. This is all about to end soon with the block halving in October! Enter SURPLUS BOB who needs to get some coin so that when the price goes up (SOON) he can take credit for it and LOOK like a market guru/crowd psychology master.  He is trying to drive price down which is fine with me either way. Just calling what i see to be so simple. This coin is going up and it has nothing to do with any pump and dumper that is exactly why he is here and here now.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: September 04, 2015, 12:09:30 AM
Well I don't know if it is tunnel vision to be unaware of who Bobsurplus is, but maybe if you are unaware of interesting coins like MAID, Etherium, XCP and a few others (factom project) you might want to read up IMHO. Anyway I never heard of Bobsurplus but he seems similar to a pump and dumper who went by the name of Fontas or Fontase or something about two years ago mostly pumping things like litecoin, namecoin, on btc-e and vircurex.  If you wanna try and pump it then dump it etc whatever.  Its a free market, I say who cares knock yourself out Smiley  It is not like the start community is not used to seeing price go up 5-10 fold and fall back most of the way -this happens 3X a year all by itself.  Welcome aboard Bob  Grin

Is this twitter storm about startpeeps ad revenue sharing thing real? Just signed up and dont see any startcoin wallet integration on their system yet?

I think i am 812th person who signed up so far. Social site looks clean tho and im gonna dump facebook and use it from now on and bring my friends and family on startpeeps  Smiley

https://startpeeps.com/welcome&affid=812

Sorry for the affiliated link, im just sharing news  Wink

As I understand it  the situation is that they are still in beta and the ad revenue sharing is not implemented yet.  So they are building a user base and perfecting the site. Makes sense because it would be hard to get advertising revenue if only a handful people used the platform.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: August 08, 2015, 03:05:35 AM
Those of us lucky enough to see where startcoin is going will benefit greatly by owning as much as we can afford to buy, i am all in no more spare money to invest.
Reading Karl's blog i got very excited imagine what startjoin will become when projects on the leaderboard get funded every week, and once a year all listed projects get funded WOW ! Startcoin right now is so undervalued its unbelievable, a year from now or sooner a lot of startcoin investors are going to be really rich,
Startjoin is going to be bigger than any of us can imagine. If you are trading this coin be careful you don't sell all your stash and are not fit to buy back in, once this coin takes off there will no stopping it, trade as you please and make profit if you can but my advice is to keep some don't sell all. Once StartFund kicks off and it becomes public knowledge and media reports it startcoin is going to rise rise and rise no stopping it.

I am a stickler for details and wanted to mention something before the rumour mill keeps potential falsehoods alive. Which could lead to unnecessary disappointment in the future.  Regarding the quote above which states the leaderboard will be funded weekly and all projects get funded once per year. If you read carefully it does not say those things. In the past Karl did say the leader board projects would get fully funded but I think he said monthly in either case in this article it does not say how often but yes it does say leader board will get fully funded. It does not say that once per year all projects will get fully funded it says they will be backed. I am sure it will be a generous backing and awesome for the start ecosystem but backed could mean simply that everyone gets $1.  FYI. Been reading his stuff a lot and IMHO I believe Karl chooses his language very carefully.

Lastly, i not saying he won't do it the way you say. I am just saying that the wording is not promising that.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: August 07, 2015, 06:32:00 AM
I think the simplest explanation is best. It is not manipulation by whales. It is the miners. The miners mine 50,000+ coins per day. Rewards etc every Friday average about 40k (so not very substantial compared to mining).  Every so often a wave of new people or existing folks with extra cash get excited and want to buy up more or buy up for the first time cause they think START is great idea. When these new people come in it is often because of a lot of buzz and things happening with startjoin and the ecosystem. This investor buying gets crowded and prices start to rocket up until everyone who wants to get in gets in. Real simple. Then we are ALL LONG but the miners keep selling (Prob not 50k per day but maybe 30K).  Price dips a little or a more short term trader sells believing it is top then this dominoes all the way down.  The coin has growing interest and people are buying with each wave of action but not enough to crush that 50k per day mining.

Good news. Around Oct 20th. the mining block reward will go from 40 per block to 20 so the 50 per day should go 25k and everything will change.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: August 03, 2015, 05:13:27 AM
out for now. will get in when I see floor or rebound.

good luck everyone.

I am going to go out on a limb, like Crowdwhale a couple weeks ago, and call a bottom! Although a rebound with good volume or at least some sideways action at support would make it a safer call - where is the fun in that?  I have been watching the bid strength in the orderbook and this weekend was and still is much improved compared to last few weekends.  a week ago the selling over the weekend dropped the orderbook bids down to a measly 15-16 btc worth going into Monday. At present we stand at 26 btc worth of bids. Does it really mean anything, I don't really know but it obviously a positive development.

I will be really surprised if we see 00004 as some claim.  I think 0002 is reasonable floor (we are pretty much there) if I am wrong I will definitely take note of who called the 00004 and pay may more attention to there comments in the future Smiley

Trading aside, at the least level of effort i think it would behove all of us who hold startcoin to deposit a good amount at startjoin and earn interest so that we can give that interest away to projects. More projects getting backers and participating in the infrastructure (startjoin, startpeeps, startchat) is what will grow this ecosystem. Besides it is boring to just sit back and watch. Just a suggestion to anyone who perhaps has not considered this. The number of non-zero addresses of startcoin recently surpassed 10,000. Startjoin has 10's of thousands of registered users and you can see many projects even those that get fully funded only have like 40 backers.  What do these numbers tell us? I believe it says a lot of us could be doing a lot more. This is a great position to be in by the way cause there is so much potential to improve things.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: August 02, 2015, 04:40:19 PM
no rebound on sight.

but a rebound is never within "sight". You can only see them after they happen Smiley

Regarding the post about kim dotcom. I heard he was planning to crowd fund meganet on bitcoin capital where investors can use StartCOIN as well as other payment methods.  As to whether or not meganet is the same project as his open source cloud storage project is not clear to me
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: July 23, 2015, 07:49:39 PM
Why most of these crowdfunding projects aren't offering anything in return? like some kind of share on their website/company or whatever.  I see startpeeps is offering to place your ad on their website..am I right? but other projects are just looking for free money while offering nothing GOOD in return. I have yet to see a mind blowing project on that website (excluding startpeeps)..most are just meh and already exist.

Here are things they should offer to investors: Shares, Advertising, Free handjob for lifetime? (could work)

I actually disagree strategically but agree in spirit.  You don't want to do anything (especially early on) to discourage someone seeking funding from going elsewhere. If Startjoin is going to be the place to get projects funded then it should aim to be very competitive with few strings attached. Of course folks with not so great ideas will have to make more promises cause the community will be less inclined to provide funds. In other words the market will take care of this. A great idea- be it a company, political activism, or whatever has the potential to draw in so many new people not only to startcoin but to cryptos in general. You want to encourage those potential awesome projects to launch on Startjoin (by not making all sorts promotional rules) and really it only takes one or two great projects (especially a controversial one) to get START lots of media attention and a crowd of folks who want to get behind this hypothetical project.  This new crowd(s) will very possibly not be the people already in bitcoin/crypto.  One often overlooked aspect of START is the potential to bring in new people to crypto - notice how other alts are competing for market share with LTC, DOGE, DASH, etc..  Forget trying to get a bigger piece of the pie when you have the power to make the whole pie BIGGER.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: July 21, 2015, 03:29:34 PM
they were doing it, they must have a reason to let it fall down like this. But the pattern of overall market performance suggest that START can go really low before next pump. Optimistic view is that they give chance to little guys to buy in, but Im not an optimist Cheesy

lol wut. who the fck are THEY? your mommy and daddy?

they are people manipulating market.

it's one person manipulating it ever since someone bought 40 BTC worth all the way till 79k. Put 1 BTC buy order and it'll start going up. It's good chance to get some cheap coins IMHO.

startfund is raising good money and still have 58 more days left so I'm hoping for some good fcking pump in few weeks..I was hoping for this week but oh well...we still have 3 more days left till weekend (that's when it gets slow normally)

https://bnktothefuture.com/pitches/2215/_smbs-startcoin-mining-backed-securities-fund.html

when THEY come they'll just buy chunk in one shot without caring about price like last time so if you don't have any you might wake up one morning and find out you've missed the boat. I was actually very surprised since it's rare to see that many btc thrown in one shot. Max and party can't take the risk of letting it go down too low because it can shake good investors..I'm pretty sure they're trying to turn into huge project and $5 is something easy to reach by the end of this year (hopefully)

people are using statrjoin for their project left and right and this could get huge it's just the matter of time. Think of it this way...some great project gets posted on Startjoin and attract one big investor (he'll throw 100 btc in one shot and price will easily get above 100k and those who're taking risk of buying low selling high for penny profits will end up missing the train).

unusualfacts30, If I understand recent developments correctly, startfund is not the same as the SMBS mining asset on banktothefuture.  Startfund is Karl Gray's project that he does not appear to have or be soliciting investors for.  Information on startfund is vague.  Karl has stated the 20 million fund will buy startcoin and use it to fund several projects a month on startjoin.  Apparently this fund also invests in other things like netflix see twitter, https://twitter.com/start_fund_io

Anyone hear any news regarding StartChat?  I was under the impression that they were planning a beta release today (July-20). That is what it used to say on their website, www.startchat.org

Now that link just takes one to their twitter.  From tweets it looks like progress is being made but there is no mention of a release. So it would appear we have to wait a few more days. Look forward to checking it out whenever it arrives!

If people want to profit in the long run they should buy some cheap coins while they still can
This is me just trying to help you guys make some money  Grin

https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-START

The price is low atm.
Buy and hold your coins for a little while and it'll go up for sure.
I was saying the exact same thing for fuelcoin a couple days ago and it's gone up around 150-200% in the past few days.
The people who took my advice and bought fuelcoins at a low price are profiting right now.

Thanks  Wink However, I think most of us hear know already! Bought most of mine for less than 4 cents. Saw it go to over 20 cents didnt flinch, saw it drop down to 11 cents didn't care, not interested.  When I sell which may be a year or two I hope to time a high (at least close) so that I can sell a lot of my non-core position and then just buy them back as it falls. That strategy both supports the price, restores my position, and frees up some funds for possible use elsewhere.  I would love for the price to fall back to 4 cents range so I can load up on more !!

Does that make me crazy, does that make me craaaazy... possibly...
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: July 13, 2015, 06:29:27 PM
So, why would be someone hyping a coin before he starts buying it? Does Karl whish to buy high? Cheesy

I don't think he ever said he had not already bought loads of START.  It is obvious he has duh.  here is a Karl Gray tweet from Feb 28th,

"I've been a net seller of #Bitcoin for the last 12 months, something even bigger (and dare I say more valuable?) in the pipe!"

I also remember a tweet where someone asked if he was buying and he worded it cleverly saying he is "buying now" or something like that.  which could be falsely read as he just started buying but that was never said.  Really it only meant he is buying now (which does not exclude buying previously).  Of course he already loaded up!! I think the StartFund he is creating (if I understand it correctly) is going to be buying soon (not bought yet) and doing lots positive things for Startjoin ecosystem and price.  IMHO Karl sees the potential and knows his personal investment will be worth a fortune and he can near guarantee and most assuredly speed up that process by creating the fund which should draw a lot of attention to Startjoin when project funding increases from his funds giveaways and whatever else he has planned. Simple and perhaps brilliant plan.

Think how easy it will be for us early folks to give 10-20 pounds or dollars worth of start to a project when start is upwards $1.00!!! Of course there will be dumps and price crashes (this is crypto afterall) but to succeed it is all about expanding the user base and getting projects funded.  The projects (which keep getting more interesting) also bring in new faces to crypto. The projects are advertising.  You may have fans, supporters of a project that knew little or were reluctant to get involved in crypto but then they wanted to support say the Mega project or the Chelsea manning project or whatever. It is BEAUTIFUL! Smiley
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: July 12, 2015, 06:36:25 PM
In answer to the people that are asking about my conversation with Karl basically he is setting up a £20,000,000  STARTFUND which will be used to fund projects on Startjoin, they will choose a few projects weekly/monthly and fully fund them. But the most important thing he said was that this will all be done with STARTCOIN so basically the fund will need to buy £20,000,000 worth of STARTCOIN over time to achieve this.

Work it out for yourselves whether this will be good for the price or not

I really like StartJOIN and how it helps everyday people to raise money that they need. I really hope it keeps growing and spreads around the world to help many people. I have bought some startcoin and hoping in the future to profit from them, i do believe i will be able make profit in the long run.
My problem is i still have a bad taste in my mouth from Maxcoin, i bought on behalf of Max Keiser's advice and promise on a Maxcoin stabilisation Fund which never happened and numerous tweets about Maxcoins great future. I am an average working man and invested a few thousand pound into Maxcoin trusting Keiser
on keeping his word. Also Karl said he was backing Maxcoin and then few weeks ago announced he had sold all his Maxcoin? What the hell these guys doing to people like me ? Just milking my hard earned money or what ? Fact is i have watched Keiser Report since beginning and agree with nearly everything said on show so i believed Keiser telling me the truth about what i should invest in. If Max is an honourable man he should still back Maxcoin because many people like me have invested a lot of money into it. I know people will read this and say get over it Maxcoin is finished etc but that is not the point i am making, if it fails so what thats the chance i took but the people who backed it and told people to buy it (like Keiser and Karl) should not have dropped it, instead use it someway and try to make a go of it, otherwise they are just conmen. But i do hope Keiser is a good guy and will make a use for Maxcoin someway.
I am talking about Maxcoin on a Startcoin post sorry people but i am hoping maybe Karl or Max will get to see this post and maybe shame them in to doing the right thing with Maxcoin, although i don't think they really care about smalltime guys like me. However i am still buying Startcoin as i believe it will be a good money earner, its going to rise a lot in price for sure really undervalued right now, and the big guys are actually doing things to make it rise just read through the posts and see for yourself.
I hate to say it but Keiser has turned me into a cut-throat business man, now i just see Startcoin as a way for me to make money buy low and sell for profit and repeat, when i first got into crypto i believed all the talk about it changing the world and getting rid of evil bankers etc. now i will just behave like the big players tell everyone to buy and screw them for every last penny. Unless Keiser trys to help Maxcoin again i think he will never be fully respected by all, you can't encourage someone to buy something and then just drop it, is this not counted as fraud? Anyway sorry for my rant, keep buying startcoin you will make money from it.

I have a simple interpretation of these events that may enlighten.  I too bought some maxcoin. When Maxcoin was launched it was a very boring time in the crypto space. Nothing exciting was going on and it was difficult to find a interesting alt other than some 2.0s that were still in shadows like maid, mastercoin maybe counterpart but really they had already had their launches and were looking overvalued price wise. If you followed maxcoin situation closely you will notice that maxcoin was not really Keiser's idea. He appeared even a little reluctant to make just another alt.  If you also notice IMHO Keiser is prone to hyperbole, exaggeration etc.  In short, the guy can get excited about stuff!!! His hyperbole and excitability is what draws in a lot of his fans and why his show is successful. So there is no scam or nefarious intent. You have to watch actions not words.  He is putting his passion and energy into START.  I don't think he has dropped maxcoin and is probably looking for a role for it but really it was never his idea or passion - just follow the old episodes and you will see.  You were not tricked. When I saw Keiser putting his effort and passion into START that alone was the indication that maxcoin was not really his passion and that was the time to switch to START and it all makes sense (maxcoin is some coin others made that he agreed to be part of back when cyrpto was kinda boring). Is he dropping it like its nothing? I say no- he appears to string it along which is all I would expect.  Man is just following his passions (startjoin) and doing a fabulous job.  People who are upset have only themselves to blame. Every THINKING person should see that Keiser is prone to exaggerate and get pretty excited which is fun and fresh way to report news and interview but it is your fault if you take everything he says as a promise or roadmap or commitment.  No who and what you are dealing with. Words are interesting but they are just words. Wiegh actions more heavily. Place yourselves into other peoples shoes mentally and you will come to understand why they say what they say, why they avoid some topics and appear to sweep them under the rug not always because they are scamming but simply the situation created a bind for them that was difficult to extricate themselves from... I will leave my interpretation at that.  Oh and STARTCOIN, STARTJOIN is freaken awesome. I have been following this for awhile and am more excited each day. Viva la START!

Hippie Tech, I believe the startjoin accounts are what one would call custodial.  Startjoin as i understand it is using a off blockchain ledger.  Deposits, rewards and interest are credited to member accounts not to a wallet the member/user controls private key for.  Of course if you withdraw funds they are sent from StartJoin to your private wallet. In other words only Startjoin has the information you are looking for. Blockchain analysis will not be very useful.  I suppose you could spin this negatively even though it makes total sense accounting wise to use a internal ledger (separate from the blockchain) on StartJoin to avoid startcoin sending fees and to efficiently settle all the back and forth funds within Startjoin crowdfund site.

Perhaps StartJoin can find a simple way to be more transparent about coins coming into existence via non-mining. The info is available just watch the coinmarketcap website and follow the available supply of StartCoin. It does accelerate around Friday above the amount accountable by mining.
Last thing Hippie Tech, by the time you finish doing your due diligence Start is going to be so much more expensive!  Grin

SISAR,

You mention "pumping a coin" like that is a bad thing.  I believe that says more about you than it does about this community.  Did the plethora of useless alt coins that were "pumped" give you the perception that when you see similar coincident behaviour you are also witnessing another useless alt?  Creating hype and optimism and pumping a coin is totally valid if one believes in the idea.  If I understand your logic I suppose you can tell a product is a scam by the number of advertisements it has and the legit products would be all the ones you never heard of cause no body was excited enough to tell you about them?
