83  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need to find a way to hedge BTC through long-term shorting on: June 17, 2017, 11:34:27 PM
I'm shopping around for the best way to get short exposure to bitcoin for a hedging position.

Just checked Bitmex and the fees are too high. Same with Poloniex. Any other short options?
Could you elaborate little more ? What you are looking for exactly ? Poloniex allows you to go for shorting at first hand ? How to do hedging with any exchange ?
If you are explaining what you are preferring other than lower fees, I believe many traders here may come with an appropriate answer for your need. As far as I know, no cryptoexchanges are allowing shorting like we do in forex trading.

Basically I am seeking to offset the risk of being long bitcoin, by being short bitcoin simultaneously.

I know doing this without high fees seems unlikely.

85  Economy / Trading Discussion / how to handle Altcoin for fiat trading? on: June 17, 2017, 02:21:35 AM
If you were to trade an altcoin for a fiat payment how would you do it? So far I haven't found much, there are some members on here who do escrow for trades not involving fiat, is there anyone smarter than me who has a solution to the escrow problem with fiat trades?

I'm searching for a more commercial type of application.

altcoin for fiat - fiat for altcoin- who pays first?
86  Economy / Exchanges / OKCOIN.com withdrawals on: June 17, 2017, 02:14:15 AM
Just signed up for the international version of OKCOIN, in their FAQ they state both that:

◦ How do I withdraw from OKCoin?
▪ BTC/LTC: First go to the Buy/Sell Tab,then under account select Withdrawal —> BTC Withdrawal, then select AddressManagement, which will allows you to create/select your withdrawal address.
▪ USD: To withdraw USD you must use PerfectMoney for the time being.

◦ Withdrawal:
▪ Bitcoin/Litecoin: 0 fees
▪ USD: Minimum fee of $15, 0.1% plus whatever fees charged by the bank and/or processing party.

How could everyone on their site be fiat funding/withdrawing with PerfectMoney?

Almost every time I search something on this forum it comes up with zero results. Then I do some looking around and find tons of posts on that subject?

Edit: Use the Google search

89  Economy / Exchanges / Re: EXMO Review on: June 15, 2017, 07:28:04 PM
from EXMO support page:

"Exmo.com just takes a fee, estimated at 0.2% of each transaction, for the sake of providing a secure and reliable service for its users."

estimated? this doesn't sound professional.

It is certainly not what you think

Estimated here obviously means calculated, they have glaring translation issues. So be cautious since what you read may not in fact mean what is actually meant there. As an aside, they have real issues with correct calculation of the values in the new order fields of the web interface due to some rounding errors. This problem had been confirmed by their support but it seems that they don't have full-time developers to fix it so it is unlikely that it will get resolved any time soon
Good, thank you for that. Any experience with withdrawals to ADVcash? time frames?

as i am currently situated in canada, it seems that actually getting btcs is the hardest point.  locally, i would be paying +7%
and any exchanges does not seem to be 'instant', and +3-5 % when using cc

The exchange fees vary by exchange. Coinbase is popular and available in Canada. As long as you're not concerned about sharing your identity with Coinbase you can link a bank account (create an account specifically for your crypto currency transactions) and then buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin with Coinbase funded through that bank account. The transaction fees via bank account purchase are less than 2%. The transaction will take a week to settle but you'll lock in your price at the point of sale.

If you don't want to use Coinbase we can share many other options for you to consider.

Coinbase says only credit card deposits for Canadians right now.
