81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Orbitcoin v1.6.0.0 ~ NeoScrypt ~ Green Stake ~ 3 Years Old on: July 18, 2017, 02:44:02 AM
Hi Guys,
I'm trying top mine orbitcoin and tried registering with both pools mentioned in the op, but they don't send out verification emails , so no go there. The wallet is still syncing.

Did I miss something?
Please advise.
TIA

Just have to be very patient. Many mining sites are very slow sending registration emails.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PXC] Phoenixcoin v0.6.6.0 ~ NeoScrypt on: July 15, 2017, 02:22:39 PM
It really looks like SCAM.
It has scam/ponzi scheme written all over it. I can only find references to it on Indian, Brazilian, and Chinese sites, besides the numerous whack-o youtube vids. The one where "they" sign an agreement with Australia promising $1200 to everyone and there's no-one from Australia there (all Chinese including those signing) is precious. Avoid.

Mine neoscrypt PXC/ORB/FTC for their value and dev support.

You want to join a pool most likely.
Wondering if blockfactory's banner (after logging in) is a typo... 5%, really?!?

"WELCOME, BLUEBOX ACTIVE ACCOUNT: 5% POOL FEE (YOU ARE DONATING 0% OF YOUR EARNINGS)"

Other than using a p2pool like http://atlas.phoenixcoin.org:10554/static/ (best! Wink) I used to use http://pxc.dnb.io but it never came back?:

"Unable to connect to wallet RPC service: RPC call failed: Failed to connect to 185.26.124.95 port 9554: Connection refused"
"Pool in maintenance mode. We will be back on Saturday, October 1, 14:00:00 GMT."

Still use their site for orb though...

I've observed someone or two picking at PXC on cryptopia in increasingly larger chunks over the past month or two. Just yesterday a $700 purchase (100K PXC) and $350 (50K PXC) within the same minute...

13/07/2017 8:29:15 PM   Buy   0.00000300   50000.00000000   0.15000000
13/07/2017 8:28:34 PM   Buy   0.00000284   108310.33385777   0.30760135

PXC, FTC, ORB also getting some justified love/recognition with BTC's quadrupling this year, unlike any number of other also-ran alt-coins.  Wink

I'm not a great designer, so bear with me.

You're no less of a developer due to any perceived lack of design chops (wallet looks just fine — ORB is fancy, FTC modern, but PXC is... functional!). I'm not a great singer, but I play a mean keyboard and trumpet. Does that make me less of a musician? Cheesy

I believe the "smart contract crisis" is exactly as Poloniex describes. Planned from the beginning. An inside job done at a precise time to loot as much as possible. The fruit got ripe so they stuck in the sickle. Which is the deal with crypto everywhere you turn. Pump and dump. No matter a feeling I might have about a coin. When it is a new coin, that is the time to bank some in case it does catch a flame one day. I don't believe it is impossible for Revolver but I do believe the cards are stacked against it. I hope it turns into Elvis all over again...

The DAO was known to have flaws in its code before it launched (prematurely) as we knew. Ethereum still has flaws in its base code for contracts and foundation, DAO notwithstanding.

If all crypto is viewed as unavoidably corrupt/flawed in this manner, it will remain fertile ground solely for scammers and P&D profiteers, nothing more.

im not right with you, there's planty of innovation onto alt. Its the more fertile ground I ever seens for every opportunist, its just maybe more risky to fallow fella in crypto.

dont need to be that pessimist  Smiley
Thought raskill was being the pessimist here; I was reflecting his take on those crypto features to the current state of crypto overall... including his dismal outlook for XRE...

Everyone had much higher expectations for Ethereum, DAO and its future siblings, but they proved to be far less ready for primetime than first believed. Pushed too soon, too far, too fast — even in the world of alt crypto, where everything is still a first-run experiment.

A great deal more thinking, care and effort needs to be placed in new altchain dev/code than is currently practiced, when adopters are willing to put real money into them (sanity of such notwithstanding); that was my underlying point. Smiley

Let see the block size is 128 coins every minute. The network hashrate is around 700mhs. I am mining at 7.3 Mhash. That means over the long haul I would be getting 1.28 coins for everyblock or 76 coins per hour or 1842 per day. This is on the low end. Ive been mining at the official revolver coin site. Im getting about 800 per day. Where are the other 1000 per day I should be getting? I'm pretty sure its at the so called official revolver coin pool....

The vast majority of GPU miners are doing so with AMD rigs. Along comes Revolver that is at the moment NVidia based mined. That requires the purchasing of new cards for a coin that shows little promise of catching fire. Main website is cheaply put together. Based on Bitcoin block chain is a negative. The only positive's are no pre-mine and the x11evo Algo. Instead of a Rock Star its more like a Rock trying to swim...

So you're mining a newborn coin in which you have no faith or promise? Huh And why exactly does every coin have to use an algo preferential to "the vast majority of gpu miners ... with AMD" gpu's?

Out of the dozen or so altchains, only a few are in practical use. As we've witnessed with the "smart contract crisis" it might not be so bad to use a trusted blockchain for a coin with a limited yet focused purpose. Why fix what isn't broken, just because somebody comes up with unproven ring-pop candy on a flashy new chain (DAOpocalypse).  Grin

You are right, there was an issue with the explorer and it was out of sync. It's fixed.
All good now — thanks

Now for the good news (tomorrow)  Huh

Anyone knows why i cant find myself on the richlist (http://revolvercoin.org:3001/richlist)?  (I have searched my address, the one that i use for the payment of my mining) and its not found!
Something strange.
I found my address, total balance only 1900 coins, but in the wallet 45 000.
Maybe BlockExplorer does not work properly?

Revolvercoin.org explorer has been broken for quite some time. Yiimp works but only provides block info, not address summaries (to my knowledge).

Basic components like explorers have to be solid and maintained if adoption by users or exchanges is to progress any further... @Barney what's the story? News has been slow for a while.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Feathercoin [FTC] - time proven, fast, secure and unique POW coin on: June 17, 2016, 12:20:07 AM
Well for 10-20% you cannot say that FTC is Nvidia predominately mining algo...Nvidia's will always have better power consumption ratio. Undervolting (putting right BIOS) AMD could take better power consumption ratio and getting it on balance with hrate, so at the end AMD 280x can extract about 500 kh/s  with 150w or less. Comparing to Nvidia 225 kh/s with 50w is about near ratio, but not too much on Nvidia side. Noting that there is much space for 20-50 kh per AMD card.

Anyway looking at the quantity of collected FTC's per time unit, I am always for better h/rate per card because for month I will collect more FTC's.

EVGA GTX970 SSC = 650KH @ >150W no overclocking necessary.
I have two of them doing 1300KH under 300W using djm34. Thanks to the recent price normalization, profit is better than Ethereum by a significant margin.
Can't wait to see what the 1070 does.

With nvidia gtx950 i have 4060 kh/s is correct ? im use ccminer-1-8-dev-fork-by-tpruvot-with-x11-evo-support .
Sounds about right — my 970's get 7.5MH/s each (no o/c) with the same miner. Interesting that the evo version only takes 500-600KH/s off the normal x11 hashrate for these cards.

Wishing this coin luck for success, being a former musician (until the bills needed to be paid with a real job)

Coino — started mining FTC (again), hashing ~1.8MH but unconfirmed/confirmed reward in settings list is not changing. Seemed to stop counting up shortly after I started a few hours ago. Back-end process/daemon problem on your site?

Mac Pro 2008 OS X 10.11.3 2x4-core Xeon X5482 @ 3.20GHz, 8 threads — "hashespersec" : 75 — 1 block in 6 hours so far
CentOS 7.2 ASRock Extreme6 Intel 4-core i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 4 threads — "hashespersec" : 80 — 2 blocks in 9 hours so far

Damn that is some pretty decent luck for solo mining with the current NetHashrate.

Based on some posts, it seems solo HODLmining is set up to give beginner miners a block or two right off the bat, then leave their nutz to dry with nothing for a couple days or more?...  Grin

Thought this coin was silly and interesting, wondering how soon someone will write a GPU miner. Cool to be starting out on cpu though, like the old days...

Solo mining for now with pre-compiled binaries, can't get any of the hodlminers to compile on OS X 10.11 or CentOS 7.2 (issues with makefiles)...

All with minermemory=1

Mac Pro 2008 OS X 10.11.3 2x4-core Xeon X5482 @ 3.20GHz, 8 threads — "hashespersec" : 75 — 1 block in 6 hours so far
CentOS 7.2 ASRock Extreme6 Intel 4-core i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 4 threads — "hashespersec" : 80 — 2 blocks in 9 hours so far

Tried Windows 7 on the ASRock, hodlcoin-qt very unstable mining w/1GB mem and 4 threads, kept crashing, gave up and went all unix...

Hope everyone here who is thinking of putting a rig together knows what they're in for. Difficulty has continued to rise parabolically since January, and what that means is...

— Two months ago, a modest 75MH rig would net nearly 3 ETH/day (diff@10T).
— Today, 75MH barely nets a tick over 1 ETH/day (diff@25T).
— Two months from now, given the same rise in diff, 75MH will barely net you a 1/3-1/2 eth/day.
— Price has gone nowhere in the past month (still ~$11).

It's going to be much more difficult to recover hardware costs going forward if you're buying any today.

Is it possible to create DAG in another drive other than drive c?
Yes — Genoil's last couple versions of ethminer have a -R flag that you can specify a different full directory path for each miner instance.

Anybody know how to modify the voltage in BIOS file for the R9 390 or the R9 Nano series? Difficult to find.

Some folks in the ethereum forum run Nano's, and said they're undervolted by design, and can't be undervolted any more.

I would think most cards show up in afterburner (if you're using windows):
https://gaming.msi.com/features/afterburner

Otherwise there's HawaiiBiosReader (R9 390 supported) which can get you into plenty of trouble (also windows).  Wink

For the 3 GB cards such as 280x, the hash rate reduce with the increase of DAG file. For the 4GB cards, it is fine now.

R7 370 is the AMD sweet spot now for hash to power ratio, close to the leader (GTX970) but at half the price. Apparently all 370's are made with Samsung memory, so no slower Elpida like other AMD models have based on brand. R9 370 (OEM) aren't quite as fast, not sure why.

Picked up a couple MSI R7 370 4GB on sale, will give 'em a whirl when they arrive.
