I switched from Avira to Avast a few years back because of the ridiculous false positives.

CONGRATS, SLUSH!

Bitcoin Clock started counting down to the next one:

The suspense is if the new block 210000 will actually get 25btc reward or if the whole system falls over..
The code is very simple, highly unlikely to be buggy. Smiley

Code:
// Subsidy is cut in half every 210000 blocks, which will occur approximately every 4 years
    nSubsidy >>= (nHeight / 210000);

No, 2. The instant that 209,999 is found is when things change. Waiting for 210,000 is like celebrating New Year at the end of January 1st.

Really?!
Yes. Before 209,999 all miners are competing for 50 BTC, after it they're competing for 25 BTC.

Google Chrome is showing "https" in red with a slash through it, meaning something on the site is not secure. Perhaps this error from the console is related?

This is a brilliant solution: if the ISO won't cooperate, then let's make them obsolete. Grin

PS. You've misspelled "liaison" in section 5.5

EDIT: Also, you've listed ZEUR as is_historic?

Why are people so eager about reddit? Who cares? Reddit users know about bitcoin and it's a "small" geeky group anyway.

Yes, reddit is a tiny site, only used by nobodies like Barack Obama:

Any chance for 2-factor auth to be implemented?

Yes.

Google Authenticator, please.
152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Litecoin - taking ages to downlod on: November 01, 2012, 08:54:40 AM
It takes 15 seconds now per block...

seeing as there are 200k blocks to download still..
15 x 200,000 = 3,000,000 seconds
3,000,0000 / (60 x 60 x 24) = 34.7 days

Erm.....
I think it's going to speed up later on. If I remember correctly there was some spamming attack at that point in Litecoin's history, which caused the blockchain to bloat.

Avout Slovenia, power prices are moderate but maybe there are some individuals that are heavily investing in bitcoins, whatever their purpose.
Probably an anomaly, it's such a small country.
Slovenia is home to bitstamp.net, at least.
154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: blockchain.info what does - before address mean? on: October 14, 2012, 03:10:59 AM
I imported two of my addresses from Bitcoin qt (including private keys). And now the addresses appear with a - sign before them:

https://i.imgur.com/IM02N.png

WHAT THE FUCK DOES THIS MEAN? And why can't I click on them to find out more information. These addresses are not in Watch Mode. I can send and receive funds.
The address label goes before the dash, so you've apparently got an empty label there. Try relabeling the addresses. (Use the "Actions" drop down menu.)

156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SourceForge mirror hacked. Bitcoin could be next target. on: October 14, 2012, 01:25:03 AM
Oh, woops. I forgot to add that you need to have Gavin's key imported for this to work. Do this:

Code:
wget http://bitcoin.org/gavinandresen.asc
gpg --import gavinandresen.asc

I'll add it to the original post.
Or you can get the key from a keyserver. May be safer?
Code:
gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys 1FC730C1
157  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitMarket.Eu - ownership changed (in a way) on: October 13, 2012, 05:35:27 AM
This app is compatible with Android, iOS and Blackberry platforms.
There is also a web app implementation that works in Opera Mobile, which means that you can do Google Auth on Nokia (Symbian) phones. (May also work in IE on Windows Phone Nokias, haven't tried it.)

Good idea, except the trackerless part, IMHO. Here's a magnet link to the same torrent, with 4 public trackers added:

But personally I prefer Yahoo Pipes to build them as it has some powerful options.
So did I until it stopped working recently...

That's the beauty of Pipes... You just fix them Tongue
I tried for an hour or two, something is completely fucked. Trying to debug a Yahoo Pipe is frustration squared.
