But personally I prefer Yahoo Pipes to build them as it has some powerful options.
So did I until it stopped working recently...

163  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2012-09-27 - The Economist "Monetarists Anonymous" on: October 03, 2012, 08:49:08 AM
I grabbed a print copy.  The article is in this print edition (Sept 29-Oct 4 Issue)

Page 80

Hm, I leafed through this issue at the train station today, and there is nothing about Bitcoin on page 80 of the European edition... I didn't have time to read the whole magazine though.
164  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Semi Heart-Attack Here - Where have my bitcoins gone? on: September 24, 2012, 02:13:01 AM
What I've now done, is delete the blockchain, copy over the wallet.dat, and am in the process of having bitcoin download the blockchain again, with the wallet.dat already loaded into it.
That was completely unnecessary, you just needed to rescan...
165  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: exchanges requiring photo ID?? on: September 23, 2012, 05:27:18 AM
Maybe there is a market for a Tor hidden service that will send cash in the mail for bitcoins?
People already offer this service on Silk Road.
166  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to use 2-factor auth on mtgox, even without a smartphone on: September 22, 2012, 11:23:02 PM
Very cool, thanks for the guide. Put up a donation address and I will send you a few bitcents for your trouble. Grin

I also found that the HTML5 app works in Opera Mobile, so I now have Google Auth on my Nokia (Symbian) phone!
167  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help with wallets on: September 21, 2012, 01:44:16 AM
When you replace the wallet.dat you need to rescan the blockchain. Start the client with the option -rescan to do this.

I remember when I first learned about bitcoins, I saw a bitcoin donation address for xkcd. I am not sure if he still accepts coins, will search later.

About 6 BTC received.

170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why so much bitcoin popularity in Russia? on: September 17, 2012, 12:54:58 AM
botnets

I am surprised how little attention this gets. There are hundreds of people making $10k+ per month with botnets.
Hmm. Hundreds x $10k+ = millions of dollars per month. 50 BTC/block x 144 blocks/day x 30 days/month x $11/BTC = $2.4 million/month.

TL;DR: You're wrong, there can't be "hundreds of people making $10k+ per month with botnets". Tens, maybe.

I watched the full video today. Wow, just wow. It felt so refreshing when that lady said 'It's a free country after all'. Which position does she hold with the bank ?
Here she is on LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/paiviheikkinen

Looks like her English title is "Head of Division for Oversight of Financial Markets Infrastructure".

ERROR: CTxMemPool::accept() : not enough fees

I'm assuming this is the error that I'm getting. Is this expected behavior? How does one include fees in a raw transaction?

The fee is Sum(inputs) - Sum(outputs). Drop some coins on the floor and a miner will pick 'em up. Smiley
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 81 days until bitcoin block = 25 bitcoins on: September 10, 2012, 10:20:50 PM
Who else is going to organize a Blockchain Party? We'll have one in Finland for sure. This is a monumental change for Bitcoin. It's less than 3 months away now.

177  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Project will be making a major announcement in September on: September 06, 2012, 12:21:37 AM

This guy:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=101011.msg1159450#msg1159450

Said that the 30th will be the last day for the announcement.

That was an obvious joke. Roll Eyes

180  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin fall below $7 today on: August 19, 2012, 08:16:29 PM
If it's GMT-7 then yes, I do consider it likely that we will see $7 within the next 12 hours.
He said PST, which is UTC-8. (I.e. one hour west of the US west coast while DST is in effect. Probably not what he meant, but that's what he said... Tongue)
