Interesting article on the state of ASIC mining today: https://blog.sia.tech/the-state-of-cryptocurrency-mining-538004a37f9bFTA: When we started Obelisk, we had numerous separate sources reach out and warn us that Bitmain plays dirty, and that if we try to manufacture in China, we will be stopped.
Wonder if Bitmain had a hand in the demise of Asicminer. Their designs were very similar. So I wonder how these 2 companies intersected at the time.

Finally got my BTC from Changelly btw. It was the same as the stated amount during the exchange. Will not use Changelly for the foreseeable future however. Same. Received after 3 days of silence. Happy I did not get scammed but won't be using their service until things improve.

ATT: this is a scam coin that is using fake accounts to shill/astroturf. Please do your own due diligence.

I also got 'server error' on first try. 2nd try worked and I sent a significant amount of BTG to exchange for BTC.
According to the status page the exchange went through successfully. And it states "Your money has been exchanged. Blockchain is confirming your transaction." - However when checking any block explorer it is clear they did not make any transaction (it is not in the mempool). This has been the case for hours, even though the page stated the process would complete in 30-50m.
I really hope they are not running away with my coins. I was hesitant to use them but could not find any other exchange that would take my BTG (Bitfinex, Bittrex nor Binance are accepting new users currently... so that left Changely for me)

Sounds good to me.
There has not been a lot of activity around CAP so any activity is good activity in my book.
If it works well, great. If it crashes and burns, interesting.

Well, I guess the lack of updates means this carcass has been thoroughly cleaned by the vultures and is finally buried for good? Good riddance. List of failed projects where I got totally screwed: - ASICMiner
- Bitcoinica
- MtGox
- NeoBee
- HashFast
It's been a wild ride. At least I learned something about human nature (greed and corruption) and how well the legal system operates (more greed and corruption). So there is that

Happy New Year all! I checked https://archive.org/details/gov.uscourts.canb.522575_201512 (thanks for the link!) but it seems it only covers larger creditor claims. Is the default to disallow claims? Should I assume my (small) claim is disallowed since I did not receive any written communication over the past month or two?

So maybe FC ran away. But did the rest of the company including all the IP run away also?
If not, is there anything left to divvy up between shareholders in some kind of liquidation process?

Is friedcat still "missing"?

The first example explorer for Open Source CCE 4.0 is up!
Very nice! I love the clean look and it is very snappy. Looking forward to HBN support!

Thanks for the fantastic block explorer & open sourcing CCE 4.0 basic! I have a spare VPS I'm not using atm so I might give it a go. How much drive space would one need to run hobonickelsd & CCE 4.0?

Can someone share a node or two? Client isn't finding any peers at the moment.
You should be able to grab some nodes from here: http://hbn.blockx.info/connected-nodese.g: addnode=[2001:41d0:1:f2b5::1] addnode=91.121.177.181 addnode=204.11.237.233 addnode=176.9.140.183 addnode=176.9.63.136 addnode=94.23.29.195 addnode=104.236.252.34 addnode=[2001:41d0:1:f2b5::1] addnode=91.121.177.181 addnode=72.52.131.70

This is why I supported AsicMiner....as Friedcat vision was to keep it decentralized.
Likewise. If Bitcoin is to have any future it will be a decentralized one. The current centralization of mining is dangerous. I understand that we as investors in AM have drawn the short end of the stick. So be it. However, AM belonged to all shareholders and we should still have the IP including the ASIC designs. Can we at the very least open source these designs and give something back to the community for the betterment of the Bitcoin ecosystem?

For AMHASH: I will send the papers to my friends in the Russian government who will in turn send them to their friends in the Chinese gov. and they will fry you as a cat
You are funny when you're angry.

Actually I find it strange that everyone is ignoring the fact that FC didn't place a wafer order before his disappearance. He was supposed to have chips in hand in February so the order was supposed to be placed in December or early January. This never happened, yet nobody is complaining about this. If we ignore all the recent facts the problem is still there. They never intended to have miners with BE300 chip. Not on this financial situation.
Right. The order should have been placed in the 2nd week of December 2014 after the BE300s had been successfully tested in single and multi-chip board configurations. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=888260.0Chips weren't ordered because there was no money to pay for the order. Attempts at securing necessary funds failed. So the order was never placed due to the lack of funds.
If this is true, the game was up last year already. All this shady disappearance / empty office / stolen farm business is just kabuki theater.

What is ASICMiner's bus factor?
This is an excellent question, a pity it was ignored. Or, it was ignored because maybe nobody knows the official answer (since the inner workings of ASICMINER aren't exactly clear), or because it is known that the bus factor is 1. Took a while, but finally we know the answer to this question.

So basically Mark A Lowe was paid to mislead ('endorse') with money that came directly from customer pre-order funds? How is this not a scam? what Hashfast is asking is for only 4.5 mo of your time to lock up your money. ( link) He knew HF would not 'lock up' the money because he was getting a slice of it. So full refunds were out of the question from day 1 i don't get paid unless this whole thing is successful ( link) Well, he and HF must have a strange definition of successful... because he clearly got paid.
