381  Economy / Economics / Re: Stop the Panic! on: August 19, 2012, 08:22:00 PM
Let the fools panic. The smart people will always profit off them.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and NWO on: August 19, 2012, 08:21:12 PM
Regardless of whether or not it was, it would be so easy for them to co-opt with their resources that it might as well be.
383  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It looks like you guys fell down the stairs. on: August 19, 2012, 07:43:10 PM
At what step is the bottom?
Ground floor on a new round of buying.

Welcome to you, new members.

But if you're blocking commonly used nodes, you're potentially blocking a good chunk of the userbase.
386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trust issues. on: August 19, 2012, 07:39:28 PM
How is there any trust left in the community after all the hacks over the past year or so? This consistent bad news is a huge red flag to new investors.
387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Seeds of distrust on: August 19, 2012, 07:37:19 PM
The standard bitcoin scammer MO is to take the money and run, while promising a 50% refund to buy themselves time. Maybe they give a couple people their money back, maybe they just use sockpuppet accounts to say they did.

How many people who have contributed something "world-changing" in history did it anonymously?

I hear the inventor of this crypto-currency thing did.

And probably more will follow. Times are a-changing.

How so? His name is Satoshi.
Allegedly.
388  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Most bankers are decent, honorable people." JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon on: August 19, 2012, 05:58:11 PM
its like bernanke saying "the markets are fine, housing we'll hit a soft landing"

if he said otherwise there WOULD be a crash based off his words

END THE FED
I honestly want the market to crash so I can buy a nice house on the cheap.
389  Economy / Speculation / Re: I dumped. Are you? on: August 19, 2012, 05:52:54 PM
Smart money's chilling with their fiat dollars while they wait for a rebound.
390  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for current Bitcoin crash on: August 19, 2012, 05:42:18 PM
You say crash, I say a natural point of the buy/sell cycle.
391  Other / Off-topic / Re: New BitCoin Comic on: August 19, 2012, 05:36:47 PM
The first time i got a QR scanner i spent the whole night googling for QR codes to scan just for scanning Xp
Before I had a QR scanner, I felt like codes were everywhere. Now I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go, so to speak.
392  Other / Off-topic / Re: Officially, I quit my day job. Anyone else hate their job/boss? on: August 19, 2012, 05:09:27 PM
My boss is a cool guy and my job is basically my dream job. Even if I was unhappy, why would I quit and give up a goodly amount of income in this economy?
393  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is anyone going insane? on: August 19, 2012, 05:08:01 PM
If you can't handle a little market fluctuation, investments aren't for you. I'm sure there were people post-1929 who made a killing from predicting the market.
394  Other / Meta / Re: Demographics of BitcoinTalk on: August 19, 2012, 05:05:04 PM
Thanks for shunting everyone onto the gender binary. Not everyone identifies as 100% male or female.
395  Other / Meta / Re: Mandatory forum donation on: August 19, 2012, 05:04:03 PM
So you're demanding regulation on the one free currency? Got it.
396  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 19, 2012, 05:01:48 PM
"I want you all to hear personally from me that all is well in the Dollar household," Fiat Dollar said.
397  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the current price? on: August 19, 2012, 04:59:15 PM
Hope no one bought during that obvious bubble. Sad
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The original Bitcoin client sucks. on: August 19, 2012, 04:58:12 PM
Yes, use an alternative client. Just like MT GOX was doing when they sent coins to an invalid address. Seriously, don't do it; the original client is more reliable than something that's been slapped together.
399  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Putting your money where Pirate's mouth is. on: August 19, 2012, 04:23:05 AM
If you ask me for my guess:

Thanks for letting me know you're devoid of humor and needs to be ignored.
400  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] Steam Accounts for BTC *** DISCOUNTED PRICES *** on: August 13, 2012, 05:46:24 AM
True, the accounts themselves might be old, but there's no way of proving you didn't just grab some old empty accounts awhile back and wait until a sale happened. Why not just do the legit thing and be a middleman for people who want to buy Steam games, charging a fair mark-up? It might even raise fewer red flags at Valve if it appears you're buying things and gifting them to someone who apparently doesn't have their own credit card.

Hell, if Steam accepted Dwolla, we wouldn't even have to do that.
