1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin high prediction 2023? on: December 11, 2022, 06:57:11 PM
Bitcoin price performance I think will be similar to 2015. January price plummet followed by sideways action and another drop in late summer.. Then slow sideways action until December 2023. It’s quite a long wait until the 2024 halving. Price should start its grind upwards early 2024. I don’t see a bull run until mid 2025 tbh. Regulation is coming and “crypto” will suffer. But if you’re a long term bitcoin hodler that can DCA this is a blessing in disguise.
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2022? on: September 16, 2021, 04:33:46 PM
Hello everyone.

Where do you see the bitcoin price in the next few months, especially at the starting of 2022?

It's around $45K right now. Experts' opinions are needed.

The price action is eerily similar to 2013 (yes i experience all of 2013). That being said, the price could very well skyrocket in Novemeber-December. I dont know what the price will skyrocket to but if history rhymes then 2022 (like 2014) could be a bear market year. Also the fact that capital gains tax is going up next year because of Biden, many maybe looking to sell this year rather than next year to take profits triggering a massive sell off before Dec 31st.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Is Mass Bitcoin Adoption Still Not Happening? on: March 04, 2021, 05:52:52 AM
@OP
Crypto massadoption is happening right in front of your nose. Just not Bitcoin. Altcoins have better wealthdistribution and offer bigger possible reward. Their tech is more advanced. Altcoins show greater network effect than Bitcoin does.

It is the year 2021 and bitcoin is $50k. You've made an extremely incorrect economic calculation. Your statements could not have been more incorrect. I hope you were smart enough to ditch your altcoins and buy bitcoin. Im glad I didnt listen to your nonsense and kept my bitcoin.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else think we hitting $10,000 this year? on: June 22, 2020, 04:14:30 PM
My sediment was very interesting in 2016. Perhaps 10k is the new 1k and 100k is the new 10k. Seems like this is 2016 and next year will be a 2017 bull run...this could be delayed by a year or two. Doesn't matter, i'll be ready.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: CNBC goes bearish on Bitcoin on: September 26, 2018, 01:27:56 AM
I would have to agree that doing the opposite of what CNBC says probably would have paid off handsomely this year. However, I feel that the bitcoin market is eerily similar to the bitcoin market of 2014 which doesn't give me a good feeling going into next year. If it does play out that this bear market will last until next year that means its time to accumulate bitcoin at an awesome discount because the next bull market we are going over 100k. But past performance does not guarantee future results and I could be totally wrong. I hope im wrong. except the 100k part Smiley
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Value on: September 23, 2018, 04:17:37 PM
My opinion is that BTC value may be degraded as other crypto currencies take root:

1)  A core belief in BTC is the value of cost effective financial mechanisms but other currencies can do this just as well.  Therefore, what may be 'special' about BTC may also be easily duplicated in other similar mechanisms and for just as much if not a better value.

2) The hay-day of independent mining may soon end as the process is industrialized.  Think about it, if everyone could print money, they would.  It's not just that it's illegal, it's also that it's not cost effective for people to manage.  Similar parallels can be drawn to the current scenario.

I'm all for BTC reversing it's current negative trend.  I would even like it if mining were profitable to the layperson.  But the above two thoughts occurred to me and I can see several good reasons for the future of the layperson in crypto currency to be grim.

Now, before you scream, "FUD", let me clarify that I think crypto currency has already proven to have a bright future.  I just think the bonanza days are about done.  Of course, I'm not selling my video cards just yet but I don't hold much hope for them being useful again.  And my two thoughts above probably aren't all that original... just seemed like it is relevant to what is actually happening in the crypto economy.

Bitcoin can not be degraded in the tradable market by other cryptos. Right now Bitcoin is to cryptos as Gold is to fiat. The basis where the standard that is set. If you watch the market when bitcoin falls in price most if not all other currencies follow suit.  I think the panic syndrome comes into play here. when people see a huge price drop in BTC they get nervous and sell off all the other coins they hafve. some of this helps BTC value and some does not. The ones that do not help are the markets that are not only on the BTC market but the USD market as well. Coins like Litecoin who have their own market that includes a USD market.

Your hay day will not come all that soon, but the end of mining as an individual rapidly approaches, I would not say mining will be industrialized completely but soon mining BTC will be more complicated to get started than its worth. HOWEVER there are ways around this no one said you HAVE to mine BTC did they?

Mining can be profitable and you do not have to mine BTC in order for that to happen, you just have to approach mining with a profitable mindset and not be afraid to do a little research.

And lastly "VIDEO CARDS" I hope this is not the mining potential you are basing this post on, I hope it was more just a phrase more so than the experience that led you to this post Smiley If that is your basis on mining potential I can completely understand why you feel its not profitable LOL One word for you bro ZEUS hahaha

Fast forward to 2018 where crypto exchanges are adding "fiat to alt coin" deposit/withdrawals options instead of solely bitcoin to fiat (crptsy?, BTC-E?). What if when altcoins dump (along side bitcoin), sellers take the cash out of the crypto market in its entirety and don’t go back into Bitcoin as they did in 2014. In the past the alts acted like “out of the money” support for bitcoin price and capital would flow back into bitcoin after a dip. This created capital not leaving the crypto ecosystem but now it easily can because of more exchanges enabling alt coin to fiat withdrawals. This could prolong the bear market of bitcoin to potentially be even worse than the 2014-2016 bear market. Everyone expects this bear market not to be as bad as the last one, but is anyone considering the scenario where this bear market could be longer?
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will hit 25k by the end of this Year? on: April 18, 2018, 02:46:31 PM
Seriously are you guys delusional? Are there any early adopters on this forum anymore that's been through 2011 and 2014? 25k this year is not happening. We will be lucky to get back to the 10k+ range. Look at the charts and tell me this is a bull market. Its not. This is a bear market like 2014 and it will be until we reach sub 2k range and capitulate. You buy when there is blood on the streets. Manage your money properly. Hope is not an investment strategy.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is is still a good time to Invest in Bitcoin? on: November 21, 2017, 04:57:39 PM
Just buy some or at least one. Hold it for 5-10 years. Try trading it and you'll get rekt. Don't ask me how I know Undecided
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much bitcoin cost in the end of 2017 on: October 29, 2017, 05:34:09 AM
Segwit2x is a “fork off” the main chain (not a chain split) and b2x coins will be acredited to hodlers just like bcash was last August. Meaning hodlers will receive coins valued at a certain percentage of the Bitcoins they have at the time of the fork. Anyone in the right mind will be buying as much bitcoin as they can afford (before the fork) and storing them in a wallet where they hold their own private keys to take advantage of this. Imagine if b2x is 25% of btc? That’s a big dividend. I say there is a big rise in price to 10k next month when hodlers trade their B2x for BTC. Plus we get the bgold dividend too.
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: I See bitcoin at $10,000 before end of this year. on: September 26, 2017, 03:27:08 PM
I don't think 10K is possible this year bc we still have that stupid 2x hard fork drama to deal with in Nov. But hey, back in January most of us here didn't think 2k was possible either. and most of us were dead wrong. I could be wrong again but I think for the price to reach 10k its going to need a better catalyst than just Amazon accepting Bitcoin. Perhaps the winklevii ETF approval or PBOC unbanning Bitcoin exchanges or both?
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: where are you keeping your coins (1 aug) on: July 18, 2017, 04:51:25 AM
Trezor. Just don't keep your coins on an exchange. Hold your own private keys. Ive definitely learned my lesson. bitcoinica, GLBSE, mt.gox, crypsy. Yeah... I've lost coins on them all and thankfully not all of them.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should long term holders sell before August 1st? on: July 08, 2017, 03:05:11 AM
Dude you're trolling. You know better than to sell before August 1st. Tryin to buy cheap coins eh?
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell Bitcoin ahead of 1st Aug Hard Fork on: July 07, 2017, 10:28:10 PM
Your title is incorrect. There's a difference between a hardfork and a chain split. If we increase the block size to 2mb that is a hardfork which is not happening anytime soon. BIP148 is coming and a chain split MAY happen in the form of a legacy chain and bip 148 chain, the latter of the two having segwit. A hard fork is not backwards compatible and would create 2 bitcoins, this is not going to happen. bitcoin xt, classic and unlimited have all tried and failed. None of the developers on core is on board with a hard fork. A chain spilt is nothing to worry about as long as you have and secure your own private keys. If you leave them on an exchange there's no telling what will happen to your bitcoins. We've all seen what happens when people trust exchanges. I think the price will increase as august 1st approaches as people take their coins off exchanges and into cold storage. Regardless, segwit is coming one way or the other.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price after 1 August - Down 50% on: July 01, 2017, 04:18:51 PM
You got it backwards, price will rise 50% after august 1 (look at litecoin). There won't be a hard fork in August but there will be Segwit activation. We will get Segwit activated either through USAF or Segwit2x. And yeah you can ignore the 2x part of Segwit2x because it will never happen. I would not be short this market, you could get bear trapped.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: New to bitcoin Need some advice! on: June 17, 2017, 03:13:12 PM
Stop trading and just HODL then recheck the price in 5 years.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will new Bitcoin purchases see competition from Litecoin affordability? on: June 16, 2017, 03:47:41 PM
Litecoin is interesting right now. It has activated Segwit and its creator Charlie Lee who has worked at Coinbase for years has quit to concentrate on Litecoin.  I see lightning network and RSK being implemented in the near future. They don't have the political bullshit that bitcoin has right now and are free to innovate. Bitcoin is like a digital gold, its a store of value. Still cheaper to send cross boarders than gold. Litecoin right now has the advantage of a low cost medium of exchange. I would say it makes a great digital currency but I don't think it will ever takeover market cap in the crypto space.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we going to 5,000 $/btc ? on: June 14, 2017, 09:52:13 PM
If Segwit is activated now we will be at $5000 very quickly. Markets hate uncertainty. Either way Segwit will be activated August 1st via UASF BIP 148. A chain split may or may not occur its too early to tell. Just make sure your have your bitcoin off exchanges and in a cold storage wallet where you control your keys by August 1st in case it does happen.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy LTC now to avoid missing out on: June 13, 2017, 11:54:58 PM
Litecoin has been around for a long time but I don't remember it being more than $40 even back in 2013. Its kinda interesting that it didn't pump more during the bitcoin rally this year while ETH skyrockets without ever having a real correction. I think it has a good use case in terms of usability like micro payments while bitcoin is more a store of value like a digital gold. $400 or even $100 dollars is overly optimistic but who knows...it does have Segwit.
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: price after segwit? on: June 12, 2017, 04:33:16 PM
without SegWit price is rising to the moon, currently we are close to $3000.
and the demand is strong.

now imagine when SegWit activates and all the things you said come true. no more large backlog, no more higher fees, and no more delays. first thing that will happen is that all the money that went into altcoins will come out with their bubbles bursting. second thing is people who were a bit uncertain will come back and invest. the previous growing demand is also there.

in short if price is not going to $3000 with SegWit it goes to $6000
Being optimistic very much eh? the reason price is increasing like never seen before is because of the banks blocking some of the major exchanges accounts and their clients accounts as well, I predict the price to drop when they solve their issues, and again price being on the move towards $3500/$4500 after segwit is activated.

what banks? and what exchanges? I haven't heard this theory before as a factor for the price increase of BTC.

Do more research and read more from the forum, there are many speculation that are very good and are not against to split because they surely know about Segwit or segregated witness, but if that is the case I think it is not a split that is gonna occur but it is more on Doubling the amount of bitcoin, but if it goes well I think all of us would surely benefit from it.

Haha, I was referring to the exchange to fiat bank withdrawals comment. But yeah I don't think that is a reason why the price has been rallying. Segwit activating before aug 1st, now that is what needs to happen for trip to the moon.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price drops $300 on: June 12, 2017, 04:18:36 PM
This is nothing compared to the Mt. Gox days. That willie bot had the price all over the place back in 2013. Granted price came down sharply after reaching the ATH that year. But we don't really have these problems anymore, the eco system is much stronger and there are many more major exchanges that are solvent. Hopefully Segwit will activate and we can go to the moon.
