1  Economy / Lending / Re: Needing a 1BTC loan over a one month period; money needed for veterinary visit. on: March 24, 2015, 02:01:09 PM
Hoping this goes well. I know Battaglia, he gave me a small 0.05 loan many, many months ago. He's an honest and great guy Smiley

What are you talking about? If you read the post above yours, you would see that the loan was repaid days ago and the OP is waiting on devthedev to return his account back to him

I think he knows this. I imagine he is saying that he is hoping that I get my account back because I'm a "honest and great guy". Wink

Thanks Anshar btw.  Smiley  I imagine all will go well. Both DevTheDev and Welsh are reputable so I see no reason why they'd vanish/steal
my account. It wouldn't really do them any good. I take it Welsh is just busy, same for DevTheDev.
Well it does not appear that devthedev has posted in this thread, so I doubt that he is monitoring it. You probably should send him a PM and/or post on his escrow thread to get his attention

I have.

Still waiting to hear much of anything from either Welsh or DevTheDev.

I'm not trying to dishearten any community motivation, but I would like to ask a question that is often placed before a coin.
Why? Why build services and build a coin as opposed to using one that is already established?

I've contacted escrow with payment confirmation while I await Welsh's confirmation:

Glad your cat is fine, please share a photo of your cat, would be nice to see him.

Thanks, I'll post a picture in the near future.

@Welsh,
still awaiting confirmation. Smiley

Loan has been repaid. Please leave positive trust on my legitimate account and contact escrow so I can get my old account back.
Thank you very much for the loan.

I was here when Noblecoin launched [username GBattaglia, account currently in escrow], and have actually used it for services like gift cards. I'm saddened to see how things have panned out for the coin.
I understand Rofo has become disenchanted with how things have gone and how the crypto scene has evolved/devolved over the past year.

What puzzles me is the "original vision" and how it was supposed to pan out with recent events. In your "State of Crypto" you touched on the point of ASICs,
but Scrypt ASICs was one thing that threw a wrench in the gears of NobleCoin [and all other Scrypt coins]. I'm not sure if I'm recalling correctly, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

1. Noblecoin was doing well, although often had people who were suspicious of its premine and other attributes.
2. A massive pump occurs [as with most crypto currencies during this time].
3. A massive decline in price now occurs.
4. Network begins to decline in hashrate.
5. Threats of a 51% attack arise, price falls even further.
6. ASICs offering the ability to easily obtain the hashrate of what once required massive GPU farms [300Mh/s per miner now] begin surfacing.
7. Issues with difficulty arise, hashrate is even lower, transactions become unreliable in regards to time needed for confirmations.
8. Rofo is in talks with devs for PoS, and for many, many, months [in regards to the crypto-scene], NobleCoin is in limbo.

I don't see how NobleCoin could have stayed alive with Scrypt. Even Litecoin and DogeCoin had to take measures with the changing environment.
PeerCoin is probably a good example of a functional PoS coin that has remained around for a while without becoming a shell of its former self.

Vet visit went well. Oreo [cat's name] is now on a special diet to help
prevent and reduce the urinary issues. A family member paid for the vet visit,
but because of this I covered some other bills with the loan money.

Seeing BTC's price increase of over 30% is really disheartening. I'll see about
getting the money to you this first paycheck on Thursday [so BTC by Monday].
The price of BTC has me a little worried.

My name is GBattaglia [account is currently in escrow for a loan] and I created the Noble/Diamond infographic in the past.
If you guys would be interested, I could update it with new relevant information for advertising Noblecoin.

Ok, devthedev has the collateral in his possession. I've just sent the 1 Bitcoin: https://blockchain.info/tx/b63a0a4459d776371868d05e1094854c11cfd0bccb3c3e58838eec73b638e9ac

Loan amount: 1 Bitcoin.
Loan Duration: 1 month (Payment due 22nd of March, 2015
Interest: 10%, additional 5% after each week if late.
Collateral: GBattaglia account.
GBattaglia receiving address: 13i7exDUG7fUTnmv5Z2WyHKV24Eo97wwvg
Welsh's return address: 1Cqw4Zix3cRLGqQr5T1cCD5RzgUSCLYUnS

I don't believe there will be any problems, I wasn't interested in the account itself, but I wanted some sort of leverage. The account is probably worth a little more to him personally than any other person. At least that's the plan. Certainly more than 1 Bitcoin to him.

Confirmed. I have received the BTC and have cashed it out via Coinbase.

My account is worth more to me than its market value, primarily because it uses my real name. GBattaglia is my first initial and last name; Gabriel Battaglia.
I would not like to see the account compromised in anyway, be it trust, reputation, or integrity.

Thank you for the loan and I will keep you posted from this account since my normal account is locked down in escrow. Smiley
