I suggest you start small. Are you mining now?
Get a 58XX and just put the mining earnings back into more hardware. It will start slow but then take off.

http://www.123stickers.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=24$1.66 for 250 4.25"x4.25" stickers here. Add $0.44 for postage and you have $2.1 Multiply that by (1/1.4) for Bitcoin conversion and you've got 1.50 BTC And the longevity is 3-5 years outdoor use. Still a bit expensive, and I can't say I'd buy one, but a little cheaper than 3 BTC, yeah? I'm sure you can find cheaper stickers elsewhere. This was just the first site for "custom stickers". Is he not allowed to make a profit?

If you are willing to open a merchant account, I can provide instructions on what to do, and program you a php script to accept payments by credit card. I can setup 3D secure (verified by visa) so you can accept credit cards without risk of charge backs. I can also help you mange it if you have any problems using it.
I own an online business that makes $50k+ per month, so I know what I am doing.
Sorry, 3D secure does not eliminate charge backs, it only reduces them.

You will loose money on electricity far more then you gain in bitcoins with CPU mining. You should buy bitcoins or buy a video card (ATI) that is capable of mining such as a Radeon 5000 series or higher and only mine in the machine with the video card.

Just wanted to share the results of my new mining rig. Original plan was a 6990, but TigerDirect FUBAR'd that order. I ended up getting a 5870 delivered before fixing the 6990 order issue, and I'm amazed at how well its performing.
Funny, I ordered a 6950 from tigerdirect and they also FUBAR'd it too. They held it for a confirmation yet it was paid out of a paypal balance. I did not know for a week (I should have checked on shipping sooner!) so I lost out of a weeks mining. I ordered another 5870 from someone else instead.

if I had a bitcoin for everytime someone proposed to "fix" bitcoin by adding inflation...
They just don't get it.
Amen. So far Satoshi has been right on the money. I do not see a challenge for bitcoin until the transition from mining to transaction fees, and I even think he has that pretty well figured out in advance. I have spent plenty a bitcoin even with its amazing deflation and I am still quite happy.

I paid GIFTOMATIC on biddingpond 3BTC for a .5 MW red laser pointer and so far have been left screwed.
I waited quite a while before posting this and emailed him many times. I received responses back dealing with a payment problem but not heard anything since 4/14/2011. Payment was made on 4/12/2011
I see he has three positive ratings on biddingpond.com and the amount was low so I felt confident.

Im in Australia my friend , how much for the postage It would cost me about $2.04 or roughly 1.5 more bitcoins. I am more then willing to do it of course, but there may be a local option for you that is cheaper.

The funny thing is, he says the law in the US says you have to accept $, but you don't.
You sure about that? I thought vendors could accept any form of payment but were not allowed to refuse payments in dollars. Vendors in the USA can reject USD, or specific types of USD like coins for merchandise or services that have NOT BEEN DELIVERED. Once the service or good has been delivered and there is a balance due the merchant MUST accept USD. So if I get my car fixed (IE the work is done) or need to pay my cell phone bill both must accept USD. They can not require payment in just gold. If I am at a restaurant and they present me with a bill they must take USD. When I am in a store and I want to buy something (even if it is in my hand) the merchant can accept or reject USD. They can also reject pennies if they like. Just as the bill says, "This note is legal tender for all debts public and private"

I am going to work with clickonthisshow.com to do a short episode on bitcoins. What I intend to do is show how a transaction works, and some of the things I have bought with bitcoins. So a few things: Does anyone have any ideas about what content should be in the episode? Is anyone (personally or a commercial venture) in the Baltimore Maryland area and would you want to be on the show? Should we talk about or ignore mining in this show? This is not going to happen in the next week or two, production will be scheduled probably for late May. http://clickonthisshow.com/index_tech.php

After thinking it over I think I'm going to go for a small yearly subscription fee instead of the big flat fee up front. Unfortunately I am going to have to postpone the launch of the site as my aunt died from cancer earlier today :-( and I have to go to St. Louis for her funeral and won't have regular access to a computer or the internet. I was going to launch on 4/20 but now I think I'll move it back to next Monday.
Just to give you an idea I once researched the model of ebay. This is how I see it. Some may see the fees of ebay are high, but they actually like the high fees because it eliminates all the junk you see on other sites. You don't see the $0.01 for a piece of trash auctions. Whenever a legitimate competitor comes around they buy them out. As long as the fees are not 1/3 higher than shipping fees there is no way anyone would use another site due the quality, insurance, feedback, and paypal they have to back up the auctions. Actually there are a ton of trash auctions on Ebay. There are many with super high shipping (though that may end soon with the new policy changes) and others with very high start prices. What we have always had with ebay competitors is a lack of traffic. I list many items on ebay each week and sell a few items a week. I have listed some similar items on non ebay sites (not just BTC denominated sites) and they have not sold. So far biddingpond.com has the best model for the current BTC denominated auction traffic which is to let everything list at little or no cost. Over time people will wake up and discover that it is better to use BTC on auctions, especially lower cost items (but not ruling out higher cost). If you want to sell a 3 BTC item and go with ebay and paypal you will give them 1/3 of your money! BTC beats everything else out there for micro-payment auctions.

how to make a dummy plug for eyefinity 6 cards If that is a displayport card, right now the way I know of is to use a displayport to DVI or VGA cable then put the resistor there. Do those cards come with some kind of adapters in the box? International shipping yes? Resistors are pretty cheap, but postage from USA to Europe is not. It might pay for someone else in the EU to do the same thing as I am doing for the US. If I did ship to Europe it would cost 2BTC more, Canada and Mexico 1BTC more. And yes, I know you did not say your location, it is just a guess.
