lol i'm in the position as you with the low bitcoinage! I figured i would try to sell some things this time instead of just buying them.  Also the war of 1812 was a long time ago so i'm sure most canadians and americans are over it by now.  Although it really is a pain in the behind to ship things to or from canada as customs really really slows things down.

And yet despite obvious bullshit, Solidcoin has ton of followers. I think Coinhunter wastes his true talent with Solidcoin, he would do much better for himself as a cult leader.
he should totally run for office

Thanks for your input guys! i've just been daydreaming lately about what i could do to help establish litecoin as a currency vs as a commodity.  now bear in my i don't have thousands of oz of silver to sell for ltc, but hey i'm daydreaming right?  that would be great stewartj i figure if more ppl use litecoins to buy and sell anything, silver especially it will really help the big picture. also if you do decide to sell some stuff let me know i might be interested!

265  Economy / Goods / Re: 1oz silver round for litecoins! on: February 25, 2012, 01:52:58 AM
lol this round went for 4500 litecoins which at the time of sale equaled 33.50 usd or 7.5 btc shipped if you can find an ounce of silver anywhere for that price let me know.  I took the hit bc i have faith that if i hang on to them the exchange will come up to where i won't lose money.  With the volatility of crypto currencies what is a markup one day is a steal the next.

One time I flipped it to see if i should go all in with pocket 2's. It came up heads and Old Hickory told me to quit bein a little sissy girl and call it. i flopped four of a kind and eliminated 2 other players giving me 3nd place at the midland fire hall cash bash for a total of 265 dollars.  Another time I dropped it out of my car at the gas station and when i got out i saw that i was about to drive off with the wallet on the roof.  You can't put a price on that kind of luck.*

4500 for 1. at time of exchange it was 33.50 usd or 7.5 btc so somebody got a good deal. i don't think that would be enough to impact it in any way tho, i more thinking of like someone saying i have 1000 oz of silver that i will exchange for 7500 ltc each.  would that help stabilize the currrency? of course if i had 1000 oz of silver i'd probably just be happy with but hypothetically...

So of my silver rounds, my Liberty Lobby Andrew Jackson has always been my lucky one.  Andrew Jackson was a surly old bastad so I've used him to make all my important poker decisions.  Today while i was scouring pawn shops for silver i found one that had a whole bunch of them!  So i got some and thought I'd pass some of the luck on to you guys!  These coins are in pristine shape as i believe they are all still in the original packaging from the mint.  Sorry the pictures don't do them near enough justice.  Anyway 4.75 btc or 3000 ltc  gets one sent to your door.  If you are outside US or Canada send a pm and i'll find out how much it costs.  Also if you're in Canada it takes a little while to get there because of customs. Not sure why Canadians would want an Andrew Jackson coin anyways since he was the only US president to actually go to war with Canada.    thanks for looking!

so now that i've sold a round of silver for litecoins i'm wondering if it is effective at all as establishing an alt crypto currency.  My question to you guys is do you think selling prec metals for litecoins, solidcoins, namecoins etc will help/hurt the legitimacy of an alt currency? or have no effect?  i mean, i know only selling a few ounces here or there is going to have no real effect but what if someone were to start offering large quantities for said coin?

cool thanks! the website made me lol a bunch.  i'm not sure how i feel about "outing" someone so to speak.  on the one hand its kind of hardcore to show somebodies chubby/pimply face on the internet but at the same time i love someone out there holding ppl accountable.  Its annoying that everywhere you go theres all these ppl who are total shmoe's only because they feel they have the relative safety of the internet to hide behind.  You think you're average troll would act that way if they had to face other ppl and look them in the eyes while they said those things?  i dunno something thats always irked me.  i don't really know much about viper so i can't say one way or the other about him, just trolls in general.

276  Economy / Goods / 1oz silver round for litecoins! on: February 18, 2012, 11:50:18 PM
5000 litecoins gets you 1 oz of 999 Silver. This is a 1985 engelhard "american prospector" round.  its not in pristine shape, a little scratched and tarnished. but at the end of the day it is 1oz 999 fine silver and therefore a valid currency or investment anywhere in the world. shipping is included for the US and canada.  If you are interested and from a country other than those two, pm me and i'll go to the post office and work out how much/if its legal to import and give you a quote. Ships on Tuesday feb 21 because of holiday on monday.

Your centralized arguments are bordering on ridiculous because you don't understand SolidCoin very well or you are purposedly trying to spread FUD.

i almost peed when i read that.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why doesn't the LTC/BTC increase when BTC drops like SC/BTC does? on: February 16, 2012, 04:26:07 AM
i've bought a few things with litecoins. nothing serious just a shirt and some semi precious stones. but more and more ppl are accepting ltc for stuff.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solo Mining LTC on: February 16, 2012, 04:21:09 AM
i know how you feel thatonegirlt, i had the exact same problem when i started solo mining litecoins.  the only way you know if the GUI is mining is in the lower right hand corner if you mouseover the pick it will give you a khs rate.  its really slow compared to other miners, especially poolers optimized miner that was mentioned in a previous thread.  its a very impressive piece of code.  I switched over to pooling after difficulty went up but it is very satisfying to find a block, with me it would take 5-6 days of constant mining although i got lucky a few times (once i got one in like 4 hours!)  another thing to watch for is that everytime you load up the litecoin it starts mining by default which will slow everything down if you are also running another miner.  welcome to litecoins and good luck!
