361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] RealCoin [A new e-commerce business platform][Release Date: Feb 10] on: February 11, 2012, 01:35:38 AM
To make sure that our business is 100% legitimate, together with our planned incorporation in the US we will also register as an MSB and follow all guidelines by the respective authorities.

As for transactions happening within the blockchain and outside the exchange, it is pretty much understood that they cannot be tracked and we cannot do anything about it.

You should read up on Suspicious Activity Report requirements.

You probably need to know at minimum name, address, and DOB for every account holder.   If people can generate anonymous accounts and transfer thousands of dollars between them, your AML plan portion of your MSB application probably isn't going to be approved.

I am rooting for you, but I don't see how you will be able to get a MSB license in the US.

Please edit the title of the OP. Bitcoin is NOT in danger.  You misunderstood.
363  Economy / Goods / Re: Want a free kindle fire? Learn how to Social Engineer and get one free. on: February 11, 2012, 01:23:28 AM
Well, I thought something was a little fishy with the original thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=63151

But now that you have reposted it with the exact same OP (but with rainbow colors!) this seems legit.  Good thing everyone doesn't have to read those pesky comments of people suggesting that the people who get these "free" kindles will be charged the full amount in 30 days.
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Introducing LIMOCOIN from Bit-Pay on: February 10, 2012, 06:46:11 PM
Bit-Pay, can you make a directory of Limo and Taxi drivers who are using limocoin?  It could be good promotion for them, and if I ever travel somewhere it is used, I'd like to call them up and give some business.

you bet.  Right now there are exactly 0, since this just got introduced this morning.  Once we get a few, we will absolutely make a directory.
Great, thanks.  Keep up the great service development!

366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Epic Fail Currency? 'Occcu' on: February 08, 2012, 08:58:32 PM
Fascist dictatorship and socialism aren't mutually exclusive.  One is a system of governance and the other an economic model.  If you want to get meta then pain is the currency of hell and it will be shared equally.

Thanks
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Epic Fail Currency? 'Occcu' on: February 08, 2012, 08:51:57 PM

Ronald Reagan said "socialism will only work in two places: heaven where they don't need it; and hell where they already have it".

Isn't hell more of a fascist dictatorship?  How is it socialist?

OK.  Still a bit skeptical, but starting to make sense for me, thanks.  I think clarifying some of the points you made in the preceding post in the OP would be helpful.
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help Me Convince My Boss To Accept Bitcoins on: February 08, 2012, 06:57:45 PM
"Industrial" probably means large CO2 lasers and such.

I went to a place that does laser engraving on granite, and they had a large laser room in the back corner of the shop with several lasers of various types. The actual engraving machines were in the main floor of the shop, and the laser energy was beamed around the shop on a system of mirrors. Pretty cool shit. It didn't look all sci-fi as people would expect, since they were using mainly CO2 lasers which have an invisible beam.

That sounds really cool.  The combination of being able to cut through granite and invisible is unnerving though.

My math says total dividends are 0.01274115

Am I reading it right: you deposited 0.68btc in july?

If so, that is almost a 2% return in ~6months.  Not too shabby.  Criticism withdrawn.  I wonder why flexcoin doesn't publicize these numbers better.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help Me Convince My Boss To Accept Bitcoins on: February 08, 2012, 06:40:54 PM
I like lasers, especially the ones that pop balloons and shit.

If he accepts Bitcoin, Ill buy one as well.

Yeah, those things are awesome.  I think OP said "industrial lasers" though, so I am not sure.

SWNM means "single white n___? male", typical of dating classifieds

So, does anyone know what the hell this is?

There are a TON of rules, and absolutely zero content.

1. What is this contest?  What are the tasks? You have given no clue what you are thinking so far.  Will contestants be solving puzzles? Competing athletically? Eating odd foods? Drinking excessively?  Writing code for the official bitcoin client? A blog-off? Posting videos (you should mention this to contestants before they apply because it requires equipment)?
2. Where is it?  What medium will it be presented in? I am assuming it is going to all take place online because it would be expensive to fly everyone together...  Are people going to be posting videos?  It seems like judges will blog, will contestants?
3. How are you going to make an exciting contest if everyone is competing remotely?

Also, your voting system is silly.

Why are you having judges vote with satoshis?  You realize that Bitcoin is poorly suited for this use, right?  Are the contestants' addresses going to be public knowledge? Because other people will send more than 1 satoshi and completely drown out the judges, making them irrelevant.  You could give public votes more meaning if you added all vote BTC to the grand prize, but your OP states you aren't doing that. Are you expecting to turn a profit from community votes?
374  Economy / Services / Re: I will do anything for bitcoins on: February 08, 2012, 05:36:12 PM
I'll give you a Bitcoin for every retail establishment or restaurant in your area that you can get to accept Bitcoin.  If you are seriously interested in doing this, we can discuss how I can independently verify your efforts.

I know some people at the ACLU.  I talked to them about Bitcoin and they seemed interested if it would actually bring in a good amount of money.  Would you guys be interested in donating to them?

Quote
Discount Payout:
70% of the fees collected are disbursed to the account holders as discount payments on any fees already paid or any potential future fees, based on the following formula…

(your account balance / total balance of all flexcoin accounts) * ((all fees collected – miner fees) * 0.7)
http://www.flexcoin.com/?page_id=148
Thanks for finding the formula for me.

I wonder what kind of fee volume flexcoin is making.   I would guess returns are a fraction of 1%.

380  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Flexcoin Payments went out on: February 06, 2012, 06:13:39 AM
Im sure his rate of return has been stated multiple times. If you look at how his system works, its a great idea and viable.

People run a good system and others choose to knock it down, although I do agree a new thread isnt required xP

I can't find it in this thread or on their site.  Can you find it?
