Another solid nights sleep followers by a nice jump in price. Again very surprised BTC-E has just been shrugged off completely. Seems bullish to me.

Bitcoin always seems to do the opposite of what you expect it to do... it can be a cruel mistress Cheesy

Everyone that uses TA and chart signals to trade bitcoin is a stupid person. TA is a fishnet used by market makers to catch small fish. The so called day traders are just adrenaline junkies. Short term you might have some success. Even broken clock is correct twice per day. But long term you'll lose your capital. Best strategy for bitcoin proved throughout all those 8 years is to buy whenever you can and hold!

Thx, but hodling through major crashes in the last years I started to appreciate the sense of staying liquid and do some trades, especially near trend reversals. Being a baghodler is stressing in a bear market. But it's even true that hodling btc has been the most profitable thing I ever did.

I have 100 btc I own from mining outright...only thing in is hobby/time/labor now...thus I will do like you and play with anything OVER that 100 btc...but
the hoard stays...my ONLY shot at a 'black swan event' or getting in on the equiv of "a venture capital deal' (like say big money hears about)

thus will feel less troubled if it all goes 'tulips' or beanie babies for the above...then if it goes up as I expect it will by holding.

Just something about 100 btc stake, that is my 'thou shall not pass'..I DID dump 8 btc off my 100 btc at the time last year at around 650 usd. to get knc liguidation
miners to mine myself out of the hole and continue mining ..but .let me tell
you mining that 8 btc back as the price went up to 1260 plus usd ...sucked......

So anyway my advice is 'stake out your bitcoin territory' in my case I NEVER thought I'd get 100 btc (esp the dark days of 2014 and 280 buck usd btc)...thus
that is my line in the sand.

Then do as you say....play with the rest above whatever your 'set' amount is.....its all about protecting the ego....if  you end up with BTC or crypto ...chump or champ

it will be one or the other in the end Sad

Solid strategy, I like it! I'd love to say my stash was the health, alas it is not. Still happy with what I have however... but it can always be more Wink

Thanks Fakhoury.

My bitcoin talk account was hacked into in September (about the same time that Adam's account was hacked into).

I made some changes, but based on your article, Fakhoury, I made a few more changes.

If a hacker gets into another bitcoin related account that has value, it will take only a few minutes before you lose your bitcoin in that account.

And, even if the account does not allow them to withdraw for a few days, they can pretty much deplete your account within hours, just by pumping and dumping whatever value you  have in your account.

My account got done too, unfortunately I've not been able to get it back Sad

With the hardware wallets like Trezor, I would just ask. What happens when my Trezor dies down the road and the company that creates them no longer exists? Is there a way to recover my bitcoins from the seed in such a case?

Yep, you don't need to recover your seed in another Trezor, you can use something like Mycelium to do the same

I think a factor in the high price is that people who thought it would be safer to wait until an ETF was available to get in because of institutional protection, their lack of tech knowledge, whatever, have realised they don't get that luxury and have starting buying directly. This is a bit of a silk road v2 situation IMO, everyone thought the value was due to X and then X vanishes and it retains the value = collect jaw drop and then FOMO.

Yup. Hardware wallets are selling out fast.

Why use an ETF when you can hodl your bitcoins at home on a Trezor? (If you can find one to buy).

No kidding. After long time considering buying one I finally did past week and I couldn't be happier now. Way better and more secure than my previous mess of having some in exchanges, some in software wallets and some in paperwallets.

Now I can only recommend to anyone that doesn't have one to buy one asap. It's a whole new dimension. There's really no reason not to have one except maybe for someone with less than 1btc.

I did buy a Ledger Nano S though, which is mostly the same than Trezor.

Agreed! If you're anywhere near serious about BTC, there's no reason you shouldn't have a hardware wallet

Definitely wouldn't be offended. Would love something bigger but I'd end up buying a couple anyway I'm sure
