I'm having a problem with dynamic intensity with 2.7.1 on Windows XP:

When I start cgminer with dynamic intensity it generally operates around intensity 3 or 4 depending on what I'm doing on the PC.  Last night I changed the intensity from dynamic to 8 (by typing "g, i, 8" in cgminer) and found the PC almost unresponsive this morning with an intensity of 13.  I expected it to still be at 8.

Haha my hashrate is being reported at 600 Mh/s but my board only does 200.  Must be an artifact of the shares catching up.

I'm guessing a SSN/Tax ID is going to be required for AML/PATRIOT ACT bullshit.

Absolutely.  The gubment isn't gonna let anyone do electronic transactions in USD without the mark on their forehead.
627  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: bitcoin will change the hashing algo and render all the BFL shit useless!! HAHA on: August 21, 2012, 05:22:29 PM
Haha and the only ones who can adapt to the new algorithm will be those still holding GPUs.
And everyone who dumped their GPUs to recoup their investment and buy ASICs will be crying to buy the GPUs back.

I stopped mining at eligius a few weeks ago and noticed a considerable credit had built up in my absence.  Alluding to a previous about it taking forever to get paid out, what should I do to kick this credit loose?

Another forum where much BTC discussion takes place is 4chan.

That oughta tell ya something right there.

"new block detected" does NOT mean you found the block.  You haven't found a block yet, clearly.
633  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I can see my NMC in MTRed Dashboard on: August 20, 2012, 01:09:13 PM
MtRed suspended NMC mining a while back.  Check the MtRed thread in the pools section.

Hey Inaba for some reason the charts on the web site don't appear when using Chrome.  I verified they work under Firefox and IE.
635  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How much do you pay for power? on: August 19, 2012, 11:38:36 PM
I just joined a budget plan with my power company which bills me $84/month regardless of usage Cheesy
Really! that's awesome. Which state / region is that in?

The region of his mom's basement.  Grin

Now let me ask this:

What do you guys think about doing away with difficulty 1 shares entirely and moving to difficulty 10 across the board?  How many people would that impact ultimately?

I'm a little miner @ 200 Mh/s so I'm guessing that would affect me.  BTW I just came back after a-whoring after false pools.  Grin
638  Economy / Speculation / Re: And now what? Long slow slide? on: August 19, 2012, 06:40:36 PM
Boy it's amazing how fast you guys got used to such a rapidly overinflated price level.  Now the crying sets in.

Unlimited upside!  BTFD!

I've heard some complaints on abcpool's thread about getting messages "pool not providing work fast enough".  I've seen this error myself occasionally.  I figured maybe abcpool is slower than btcguild so I set up an experiment:

I shortened my list from 4 to 2 so now it's abcpool and btcguild and made abcpool the primary.  I seem to be mining on both roughly equally.
I switched the pools so that btcguild is primary and re-ran.  Same result: roughly equal mining on both pools.
