664  Other / Off-topic / Bitcoin transaction Fee imposition on: February 14, 2013, 02:55:27 AM
Fees should be voluntary not imposed. If the trend keeps up people will feel that the cost was rolled to the end user. Similar to the complains I read about US businesses allowed to roll Card fees to consumers...

668  Other / Off-topic / Saving Plan ideas constructive advice appreciated on: February 07, 2013, 01:23:16 AM
After a lot of thought and constant decrease value of USD and fiat ive decided to embark on a savings plan. Due to my nationality and country of residence Panama, I have very little options on how to buy bitcoins ie "paypal" and there are very few takers. Luckily ive earned their trust and on ocasion they are willing to sell me their bitcoins... Other options are too expensive when all fees are considered.

Since for my particular situation bitcoins are not really a liquid asset, Ive decided bitcoins would be a small monthly savings plan or what ever a set amount of USD would buy. Since i live in a USD economy it has to be whatever I can afford not to use...

So lets say ive followed along with my plan and have been saving. How would I make the fund use of such funds.
At the moment in my particular case bitcoins only serve to make ebay purchases or amazon proxy purchases.

I tell everyone about my experience with bitcoins and its benefits. But they all tell me (Panamanians) what good are bitcoins if they are not tradable for any bitcoin goods.

670  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which class do Bitcoin owners and miners fall into? on: January 30, 2013, 07:16:41 PM
2. High value creation (employed, heavily taxed)
3. Low value creation (employed/informal economy, lightly taxed)

Depending on how they manage their financial reports.

Based on non-scientific stats researched from heterosexual relationships.
Male hypersexuality ruins the relationships
Female hypersexuality improves them...

whats your take?

nothing is wrong with my system, I do a lot of computer repair for different clients and would like to know what others have used in the past with positive results.

When I am undoing my wifes doing on her pc, I ask her, besides "I did nothing and its started acting up" what did you actually do?

keeping wallers sync 10 min away from each other in a stationary matter is an enourmously expensive task.
earth and moon can keep the same currency cause they are close enough to keep in sync.
Mars and beyond is a whole other game.

There are two probable ways this would play out. Either with various currency exchanges sprouting all over the known colonies or unified currency for the entire colony system with each colony having its own local currency.

Example 1
Very similar to what we see now a days world wide, as you travel to different regions of the world you get currency exchanges that trade currencies popular to that region. So if your in a trade ship travelling around to different colonies as you would have to plan and trade your currency depending on the route. Travellers would need to use software that handles multiple crypto currencies.
On a "government" level embassies would play an important role in recieving or sending funds, smart governments would use offline at their place of origin and keep a watching wallet at the embassy...

Example 2
Every colony would have a their own local currency that would be weighed against a the universal currency. Similar to Cuban Pesos and Cuban Convertible Pesos or how certain greek villages use barter credits but deal in euros with the rest of the euro zone. local governments would have to determine the rules of printing new currency in order to wiegh their currency against the universal currency. Travellers would use a universal currency wallet to trade. Embassies would also serve as supervising agents to make sure local governments dont cheat.

680  Other / Off-topic / Re: Russia Says World Is Nearing Currency War as Europe Joins on: January 17, 2013, 04:42:11 PM
Hmm if everyone prints and prints and prints, the exchange rates will remain fairly equal but the purchasing power of people and businesses will be greatly diminished.
In the end the people take the hit, as is comun in the world.

edit: Forgot to add the countries that suffer are countries that don't print their own currency. Panama back in 2009 - 2010 suffered inflation at a rate of almost %6 when historically it has always been at about %2.5 because of imported inflation due to US printing Smiley this caused a price spike on all goods and services and made the government impose price regulation (helped with subsidies) on certain goods, thus killing a traditional free market system which is now partially controlled.

I'm not sure multiple nations money printing will be on par or coordinated in any way, even if there are agreements, when there is any kind of panic! On the other hand you would try to keep quiet about it and downplay the consequences to you citizens. You don't either want to get the hyper or high inflation label, so it will not be a flat out race.

If your inflation is too low, your currency will be considered safe and your bonds worth more, but you will have an expensive currency as speculators buy it so your countrys export will suffer.

I think that most governments consider exchangerate speculation too risky to base their monetary policy on.

Panama does not print any currency, but adopted the US dollar as legal tender and allows banks to open bank accounts in different currencies. Except bitcoins hehe
