581  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinobit - LIVE ROULETTE - [INVEST] - BEST CASINO OF 2013 on: August 17, 2013, 06:32:48 PM
Well, I successfully withdrew my earnings, 7.06 BTC, I think I'd rather keep everything in my own wallet until everything is resolved.

I think I may be the opposite of most people, I don't like to jump to the "scam" conclusion as soon as one person offers some "proof."
With all the scam accusations always flying around and even a couple scam whistle-blowing sites that list pretty much any site that is involved in BTC, I think people mostly lean towards scam right from the get-go.  Some even seem like they WANT things to be scams...
Don't misinterpret what I'm saying, caution is necessary, especially dealing with BTC, but there is a line between cautious and paranoid.  A warning about dealing with caution can also quickly escalate into a witch hunt.

Issues have been raised, re-raised, repeated, and rephrased about whether this is a ponzi.  Any more will be beating a dead horse.  Any person being smart about investing their BTC have everything they need to make an informed decision at this point.  My decision: withdraw and wait.  My reason:  DDOs attack and current high probability of a substantial portion of the bankroll getting withdrawn in a short time period.

Casinobit, have you considered asking the community for suggestions about dealing with the attack?  This is a tech-savvy bunch after all.
Showing the invest script would also help, if it won't compromise the security of the site.
You really haven't done much besides deny allegations, proving them wrong would go a long way.  I can't see a reason not to defend yourself, unless there is nothing to defend.

No problem, keep you BTC in your wallet. Sharing scripts is completely out of the question, there is no ponzi and never have been.

I do appreciate the support of the community, many great people but I rather leave the programming to the professionals. As far as I'm concerned there are no accusations, just FUD and people that echo the FUD.

To the operator: why there is no clear explanation of how is the profit calculated?
The fact that people make a lot more money that expected is scaring.

The money is either from gamblers or from other investors.

As there are no sign that CasinoBit owner is considering that he need to find the bug and fix his site, I am here to announce that this site is a scam.

As I've said, there is no ponzi, the profit is calculated as (Total-Winnings)*(Respective percent owned).

How is this not clear enough?

You say FUD I say accusation, ta-may-toe, ta-mah-toe.

I have noticed that over the past 3 days the profit margin of total winning/total bets has increased ~2.5% and the total bets have more than doubled.  I don't see these numbers in any of the pro-ponzi calculations.

Can't wait for the Ddos to be mitigated, so I can throw some coins back.

Ok, picking the dog up from the groomer, we'll see.

Everything is buggy right now, trying to load and keep hearing the godfather and when I try to withdraw some the bar moves but then the balance stays the same.
Never been able to withdraw with Chromium. Work with Firefox after 10-15 try.

It isn't browser specific, we have some minor issues with the server sided withdraw script constructing invalid transactions occasionally, PM me and I will take care of your withdraw if you're having issues.

PMed per withdraw

As all of you have noticed, this site have a quite high return of investment with a very short period of time, whilst it have a very low amount of traffic and transaction. As the database of CasinoBit.net is kinda public, I have calculated the transaction sum in the past 24 hours, ~250BTC. Thus the raked amount is 7.42BTC (2.9% for European Roulette)

We have 1000-1500 unique visits per day, this is 6 times more than just-dice, didn't hear anyone bring it up with them.

Everything is buggy right now, trying to load and keep hearing the godfather and when I try to withdraw some the bar moves but then the balance stays the same.

Sorry about that, constant ddos attacks. Our tech guys are looking into the issue atm.

It's not comforting right now with all the ponzi accusations, but I'll look over what's there and draw my own conclusions.

this is my wallet address 19eKWyo5YsLtVV8pZfEXibmWvFT3HTHGp3 here are my btc!
ok so i downloaded blockchain app on my mytouch 4g. after receiving 35.17 btc into my wallet i tryied to pair my phone with the account made on the laptop. after opening th wallet the balance showed 0. i had a file with saved wallet on it and same thing after recovering it shows 0 balance.

this is the curerent identifier 45ba593d-2956-42e0-8863-ea8ee9b147e6 where is no btc.

The problem is you created a wallet on the android app then paired it will a different wallet through the web interface which overwrites the previous wallet details. From the identifier you have posted I believe I have located the previous wallet and have PM'd you the details. Simply login to that wallet online and the coins should be restored.

Nice work.  Very refreshed to see one of these threads resolved successfully.

So whats the IP that accessed your account?  Just because it says in gmail that it was an Iphone, that doesn't mean it was.  User agents can be switched.
PM me the IP if you don't want to post it publicly.  It would be easy for me to check if it is a phone, router or proxy server (if it's online) by fingerprinting.  It is very possible it was a proxy though, you said it was 30 minutes from your city, if they tried to log in to your gmail from 1000 miles away, they would have had to answer the security questions.

590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The First Chicago Restaurant to Accept Bitcoin on: August 16, 2013, 05:08:32 PM

Yes, they need something like that; what I liked in the article was that you buy a coupon, instead of getting money direct from bitpay.  Seems safer right now, the coupons are not from bitpay so the store/restaurant is safe WHEN the feds freeze bitpays assets.

What makes you think the feds are gonna do that?
[/quote]

I probably should have said IF.  Thanks for making me re-think that.

Bitcoin is a target in the US right now, it seems any excuse and they'll freeze assets.  Take tangible cryptography for an example.  The state shut them down, not the Feds, but same idea.

If it wasn't for my paranoia, I would probably do this:
Maybe somebody should start a money exchange business in Chicago so that people can become bitcoin users more easily

My uncle already services 100's of small businesses around Chicago for their CC payment, incorporating bitcoin as a payment option in these shops would be relatively easy for him.  I guess I'll research the laws involved and see what needs to be done and how much it will cost and then pitch him on it.  I wouldn't even begin operating until spring, so I have time for research and planning.  If anyone could sell bitcoin merchant services it's my uncle.

I guess I'm a long way off from a BTC funded date though.  Localbitcoins FTW.  Also, I need to not lose my debit card anymore.  Last time I came here I melted it in the dryer, this time, I don't even know.  My bank is 3 states away and I don't keep credit cards.
591  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum still having problems or am I (OH NO)? on: August 16, 2013, 04:36:13 PM
I sent .05 BTC over 3 hours ago now, and it is still not showing up on blockchain.info or blockexplorer.com.  Shows pending in the client, and 0 confirmations on the website I sent it to.  Transaction ID ec992a35d33df73c2e2382e8fe156f8d42fb537b14f83c12daefd0a085ee6b28
Should have went to 15Vzuez85UEvRMzD1M1ypWBFDDd2VgsJCW

I of course sent the regular fee.  I do have an incoming transaction, unconfirmed of .5 BTC that was sent to me without fee so that is normal to take a while, but electrum is only supposed to send confirmed funds so that can't be it.

Transactions getting sent from electrum have been slow for me since it got stuck on that block.

I know sometimes poop happens and confirmations take a while, but I've always seen it on blockchain or blockexplorer without confirmations.

Also, I'm kind of confused how the website could see it, but not blockchain/blockexplorer.

Most Electrum servers have been patched ; the few remaining ones have been kicked from the IRC channel, so that they are not in the list of servers displayed in the clients.

The transaction you were talking about is now confirmed and visible in blockchain.info.
If it was not visible in blockchain.info when you posted, it is probably because it used unconfirmed inputs; blockchain.info does not display such transactions

That's what I was leaning towards, using unconfirmed inputs.  I could swear I read somewhere that electrum picks confirmed coins first though.  At the time of sending, only 12% of my balance was unconfirmed, then I sent only 1.02% of my balance, 10% of the unconfirmed.  It seems silly that it would pick any of the unconfirmed coins.

Right after posting, I tested and sent first .01 then 1.00 BTC to a blockchain wallet, and those transactions went normally.  So I can send 1 BTC without touching unconfirmed inputs.

I guess I'll read up on the console later, to see if I can find a way to pick what coins I send.

Thanks for checking on that for me.

I had nothing invested while I slept but I see some big wins so maybe my little electrum problem actually ended up working in my favor.

Wow, the bitcoinica tendrils reaching out to barn wood in sandwich...Never would have thought that.

I'm back and forth right now but in the Spring I'm moving back to Chicago, so if you have a list put me on it.
I haven't read the article entirely yet, but what about this: http://money.cnn.com/2013/05/16/technology/innovation/bitcoin-sales/index.html

I think the biggest obstacle is the hassle they have to go through to turn it back in to cash.

That's where Bitpay can help.  Instead of receiving bitcoins, your business can have USD (or other currencies) deposited into your bank account the next day.  So your business can accept bitcoins as a payment option utilizing Bitpay's merchant checkout solution and receive dollars or whichever currency you desire.

wtf is up with electrum

When you are in basic mode (just receiver address and amount) it will NOT include transaction fees.

Switch to advanced mode and manually type in the desired transaction fee from now on!

Thanks but already knew that.  Transaction in question has a fee included.

Just wondering, how & why are you naming yourself the "Best casino of 2013"? Tongue

It's definitely easier though

Yes sorry for that one Steve, I have read your email and was looking into it, I don't think that I can do anything about it except waiting for confirmations, if we don't get it in 1-2 days then we will look for alternatives.

It's ok about the delay, I was just trolling back for fun.
What about sending my confirmed balance to a new account so I can invest it?  I'm trying to invest 4(and change) BTC back , being stuck over .05 sucks.
I don't even want to withdraw it until I figure out wtf is up with electrum, this isn't the first time this happened today.  The first email I sent had a second account I made in it, if you remember, you transfered the .58 BTC to my main one yesterday.
