Thanks for suggestions. You confirmed that poloniex is a way to go as I hoped.

So, which exchange are you going to use? C-cex, poloniex, ...

1Th of the antminer S5 Hash costs 0.26 BTC
1TH of the antminre S7 hash cost 0.646 BTC

But I can't be sure if it's profitable. Better yet, buying real miners, will give you more profit.

S5 hash costs 0.26 BTC? are you sure?

Can somebody tell me how much 1 TH/day costs on Hashnest? On Nicehash the price is around 0.50 BTC/day.

We'll see... Since new year they have a lot of power on goldmine, daily more than 30g of gold mined per day.
I always have an option to "melt" XAU so they send the physical gold to my home.

What a really nice fairytale!

We'll see  Smiley

Anything in crypto world with real value (base value more than 0) and growing base value in physical gold is XAURUM. This little coin is the one I have my eyes on.

I don't know man, new altcoins like that with almost no volume are totally not a good idea unless you are trying your luck investing like 0.01, otherwise I don't really see the point since you can't really trade with it with such low volume.

I got the response to my ticket today. It didn't help to resolve anything.
But it looks somebody is still working there.

Anybody else?

Let me guess, they told they re experiencing technical difficulties and their teams are on it, fixing it, right?

Yes... and if I want to cancel my withdraw, I should send the request to support.
But I was still surprised to get anything from them.

230  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i go 50/50 with gold and bitcoin? on: January 09, 2016, 10:39:20 AM
at the moment i have 30 btc now i could sell in the highs and buy gold leaving me with 15 btc.

im starting to think btc wont survive long due being entirely digital the thing could be abandoned or worse internet might go down what you guys think i would look pretty stupid buying something you cant see or hold im torn to shreds right now.

ive listened to max keiser and proffs that bitcoin could be worth tens of thousends i think its the most sensible thing to do "dont put eggs in one basket" on all...

it draws a fine line... i.e. all that electricity to "mine" bitcoins pushing hardware to the max and with exchanges like crypsty and cexio mucking me around i just dont see the future help me realise this what should i do?

BTC is an investment with HUGE systemic risk.

Gold is an investment which has proven itself as a store of value for the entire duration of human civilisation.

BTC has bottomed out (for now) in 2015 for sure. Gold may have just bottomed out, or may still be bottoming out. Whatever happens, providing you are thinking in terms of a 5-10 year investment, now should prove to be a tremendous time to buy gold. Down almost 50% on it's 2011 high!

In terms of growth of profits, you are likely to see far more potential yield in the immediate future with Bitcoin, but if you fail to time your exit well, also far more potential for evaporation of profits.

I believe we are entering the final wave of the 'fear cycle'. Expect massive market corrections in the next 18 months. Usually under these circumstances, hard assets or safe haven assets do very well, as the fear, uncertainty, and doubt, drive people away from investments with counter party risk, and into things which are 'solid'. If the market can be tricked into believing that Bitcoin is a 'hard asset', then we may see blistering gains in Bitcoin compared to gold, but the core difference will always remain, that gold is real, it is formed within a very narrow band of time in the final moments before a star goes supernova, hence it's rarity across the entire cosmos. Bitcoin on the otherhand, is vapour, and one day, it will be revealed to be nothing more than that, whethet that is 5 years, or 50 years from now.

Gold is an insurance policy, BTC is about as highly speculative an asset as it gets. Do what makes you feel good/comfortable with yourself.

Agree with the above 100%

If you are considering gold, take a look at Xaurum. It is 100% gold backed and you can "melt" xau and receive the gold at your home. Not only you are fully covered by gold but the amount of gold grows constantly by mining of Xau, by every new direct purchase of xau, by every transaction (fees are converted to gold). Since the beginning of this year the amount of gold represented by 1 Xau has grown from 1,406154326 g/XAU to 1,448123884 g/XAU. This coin is in initial phase and it has big potential.

Shareholder system does not work in the real world.  Those who have money or influence already (guardian notes possibly) could be used to control the currency.  Need to be finite, and simple.  It makes no sense to hold on to the gold forever and let it sit there.  If the extra gold were re-invested and pofits payed out to the current holders of XAU annually, that would fix the POS issue.  Also there is about 55,000 dollars invested into this currency.  Each XAU right now is greatly inflated by the crypto market already.  And mining it at the moment is not profitable.  So everyone is paying to create this coin.  So if the second rule were changed to everyone with even a small amount has equal say in the coin.  That would be better IMO.  Also a business model needs to be created, and gold that is needed to back the currency held, and insured.  Maybe burn XAU until there is enough to build a goldmining company?  Then the company is owned by XAU holders.  Should build infintely.  And be completely democratic.
The mining is profitable (if you measure it in XAU, BTC or dollars) and holders get profits (measured in gold). Xaurum is not inflated because it isn't a 1:1 gold coin, it is an increasing commonwealth that uses gold to secure and increase value. A business model is already working (Auresco that buys stores gold gets rabate on gold purchases, miners get a discount, holders get more and more gold) so everyone is profiting from creating Xaurum.

As for voting, both 1-coin-1-vote and 1-wallet-1-vote are insufficient as systems of decision making. When we get to that point (not soon), it will not be by a simple vote system, but some kind of deliberation scheme (to avoid being determined by capital interests and popular false opinions).

So the the goal is to create a currency backed by gold forever. There are obvously no plans to expand it into some kind of business.
two thing should be covered in future:
1. Decentralisation of gold storage and direct melting into mints
2. Decentralisation of decision making

Auresco should become facilitator not stakeholder.

Ok, so the plastic is not fake.  How do we know you didn't just buy the plastic wrapper, then insert gold colored stuff?  Could be candy for all we know.  Then start a business that basically sells candy bars for a ton more than its worth.  Start a website, start a mining pool, and blow air up our arses.  All of which will ultimately fail, once someone melts some Xaurum.  Seems like a ton of work for failure. But is it?

With all the coins that go through here that are basically copy and paste work, I can see the problem.  Seriously tho, try saying what your thinking out loud.  Then ask yourself, does that make sense?  Worst that can happen for these guys now, is they end up with a currency that is worth nothing.  Have a ton of gold, decide to try another currency or sell the gold.  We as investors, if we dont dump the coin for a quick buck.  Are basically in control now.  There will be people that dont give a crap and dump the coin.  Its up to the serious ones to not sell ever, or at least keep the price going up.

A serious question I do have though.  Where is the business model or promise, that says you will never withdraw your gold from the coin?  Or change how the coin works?  If gold goes way up, you could just tank the coin and sell all the gold.

Interesting thoughts. Similar to my own.

Disclaimer: If everything coin authors are stating is true, I believe this coin is by far the best digital currency possible. It is state of the art technically, backed fully by gold and creates additional value for all stakeholders all the time (owners, miners, traders, ...).

My understanding of this coin:
1. there is an official registered company - institute behind it. One of their tasks is to store the gold for the owners of XAU (the physical gold belongs to XAU owners). If they steal the gold, they automatically go in jail for a long long time.
2. compared to all other coins on the market, this one is the only one with clearly defined base value. It is backed by gold and the quantity of gold behind every XAU grows all the time.
3. the base value of XAU grows with market coinage.
4. a smart person would do two things:
- buy and keep XAU (please look at the trend of growth of value of gold behind every XAU)
- buy everything below base value, melt it into gold and sell the gold (it would be cheapest gold in the world)

I believe that coin creators have two solutions for your serious questions:
1. the gold will be stored in mints and every owner of XAU will be able to melt XAU directly in mints. Auresco will have nothing to do with it, because direct link between XAU owners and their gold will be made.
2. The coin rules are set and will be adjusted only based on voting system. Votes will be linked to amount of XAU owned by a voter. Again, the coin creators will participate only with their shares of XAU.

What do you think?

Putin: “Bitcoins are backed by nothing, and this is the major problem.”

This week, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed bitcoin and digital currencies for the first time on the nation’s domestic TV network, Russia 24.

Putin announced that the Bank of Russia has been exploring possible use cases of the blockchain technology and its applications. Although the technology can be used as a method to manage or record transactions, Putin explained that the whole currency [bitcoin] is problematic because it is not backed by anything.

In his exact words, Putin stated, “Bitcoins are backed by nothing, and this is the major problem.”

However, Putin also announced that Russia is not rejecting the technology and bitcoin itself, and does not plan to prohibit bitcoin anytime soon. However, he also explained that there are fundamental issues to be addressed before using and implementing bitcoin and its underlying blockchain technology.

“We do not reject anything, but there are serious, really fundamental issues related to its wider usage, at least, today,” he added.

Hello Miners,

The Scrypt pool is live and we have had a great response from miners who have been testing the GoldMine with high end rigs, thanks to community member and miner puhi who has been instrumental in helping us work towards configuring the GoldMine to work with mining farms such as NIceHash. We have now integrated a dedicated stratum specifically for mining with high end mining farms. This puts the Xaurum Gold Mine in a position to be able to handle masses of mining traffic on Scrypt and will soon be handling PH/s on Sha256 where we will be mining BTC and later will be activating merge mining where miners will be able to mine two coins at the same time, this will dramatically increase XAU rewards and help to keep payouts consistent.

To get to the matter at hand, Raroun, our Jedi master, added a dedicated Scrypt stratum port specifically configured for Scrypt rigs with high difficulty as per the example below.

You will also notice that the stratum is now multipool.aurumproject.io although the IP will still work if you are mining with it as the stratum.
The Port for the Scrypt GoldMine with high difficulty is 7000 and is the last option in the list at present.

Happy mining everyone and lets get ready to take Aurum project to the next level!

Thank you team!!! That was a fast reaction!
I tested the solution and it works. Now bigger hash can be connected to the pool also from NH.

It will be interesting to see how sha and x11 play out.

Great job!
Obviously all is going in the right direction :-)

WOoht!

So I am mining at about a steady 9MH, getting about 0.018 XAU every 24 hours.  For the last two days.  People have been destroying the coin with nicehash on cryptsy.  So far tho, no complaints.  STOP dumping the coin people!!!  The coins are POS, your wasting everyone's money.  That includes your own.

Yea I saw that they were dumping the coin they thought it was going to flop and it's a tough market to start up in right now but i really like this coin an hope for the best. I was wondering it more profitable mining this with scrypt or sha.

I suppose it was just a correction. Buy wall is getting stronger and stronger. Base value in gold is rising every day by cca. 1%.
There was no marketing what so ever anywhere... I believe guys just waited for pool to stabilise and start, so the project can go fully ahead.

Mining scrypt is currently more profitable. Sha will be ok, when there is enough power to mine at least 1 BTC block per day. For sha miners (and for all the rest honestly) this will certainly be the most profitable pool, because of the reward formula. It was obvious last few days already on scrypt mining Litecoin.

Hello Community,

I am excited to announce that the automation scripts are fully operational and that the first automated payouts were executed a couple of hours ago without any errors.
This is a major leap in terms of service levels that will be upheld within the Xaurum GoldMine and is an industry first in terms of pool mining.

Here is a summary of how the automation will work just in case you have any questions, although, please feel free to ask if something is not covered here.

Auto sell script - Auto sells altcoins to exchange.
  • Checks for wallet activity before selling - In case of wallet in maintenance issues.
  • Auto sends coins to exchange.

Auto pay script - Automatically pays miners Xaurum rewards.
  • Automatically executes payouts.
  • Pays miners XAU payouts with 1 minute staged intervals.
  • Payouts are calculated based on miner shares and uses the XAU payment formula

I am sure that everyone is excited to get started so I will had you over to the developer to fill you in on the next steps.
Thank you to everyone that help us with the testing phases and for the patience and understanding excicised during this time.

Best regards,

Bitcoinicon

Hi Icon
thanks for the info. I hope it works as expected.

Two issues:
1. payout statistics does not show any payouts per worker. Please fix.
2. NiceHash rentals can not connect to the pool. Error on pool verificator - The difficulty is too low. Obviously vardiff doesnt work with NiceHash. Please fix this and in the mean time explain if we can set the difficulty manually in pool setup when renting.

Thanks and good luck!

it was 0,05 BTC not 0,5 (check above). My mistake, sorry. I corrected the post as well.

0,05 BTC or 0,5 BTC makes no difference at all.  Roll Eyes
For 0.5 BTC he would be getting 1.3 XAU = just a very little difference :-)

My mining session went smoothly, got paid out. No problems so far.

How about the profitability?
Can you guys post if you have been running for 24 hours your how much you are making on average for 1Th/s for Sha256 A 1Gh/s for Scrypt Miners?
It would help with transparency. This pool is just starting out they probably will get stats up to avoid negative comments left on this pool if they hope to stop those comments from deterring first time miners so they can grow.

I believe they will post actual numbers that can be confirmed by miners. There is no way they can compromise the stats - the current miners would see and comment.

If you get 0,13 XAU for 0,5 BTC of mining, then there is really no need to adjust the stats in any way. The profitability is extraordinary.
Agree?
.13 XAU=.08472481BTC at it's "current best" he should be getting over .32746534 XAU @ .5 BTC of mining to be more profoittable than BTC

it was 0,05 BTC not 0,5 (check above). My mistake, sorry. I corrected the post as well.
