1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: July 08, 2018, 10:02:51 AM
Hi Patrike,

I downloaded the update.

I can confirm that the new version works with Phoenix Miner.

Cheesy

I searched but could not find a way to configure PhoenixMiner in AwesomeMiner to change the proto setting from its default. (I need to be able to change setting of proto from 2 to 3.)
If I use the command line parameters field, the AwesomeMiner program is unable to monitor the statistics of PhoenixMiner and the state of the GPU. (i.e. It says "Interface Offline")
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin CASH will take over BTC ? on: November 14, 2017, 10:29:31 PM
I see manipulation happening in BCH and because of it, Bitcoin Cash would not be taking over bitcoin.

Not anytime for the next two years, anyway. It is a huge setback for BCH. But it is a market, and maybe after two years it might recover.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Ethereum so special? on: November 14, 2017, 10:25:32 PM
Because Ethereum is the most mature smart contracts platform, and there is not much point in re-inventing the wheel, although that is what other development teams want to do with their miscellaneous competing clones.

There should be more posts calling out these YouTubers who have clearly no clue about holding crypto.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: April 09, 2017, 10:38:34 PM
Ethereum is not an alt to Bitcoin. Ethereum is Web 3.0, the backend of a peer-to-peer, decentralised Web, that may one day replace the current Web 1.0.
The tokens are ETH (Ether), which could also be used as an alternative payment system like BTC, however they aren’t really. (If the Ether tokens are used the same way as BTC tokens, then they could be regarded as an altcoin. It seems that some organizations are accepting ETH deposits as payment/altcoin because the Bitcoin network is congested. This trend might continue if Bitcoin scalability is still not resolved.)
Moreover, Dash wants to be the digital cash for the mainstream consumer market who are already familiar with online banking.
The prices seem very volatile, but keep in mind that Ethereum has long-term fundamentals; its price could go down a lot, but it will recover because of its long-term fundamentals.

When the hacker starts to dump his/her ETC coins, the ETC price will crash and the miner will desert it.

Happened this year in Bitcoin/Litecoin land. First the hacker will play the ETC market, crash it, then play the ETH market and crash it. Both sides will stand to lose, because one side decided to aid the hacker, who can live a fruitful life in paradise having bought out a few banks.

Issue was resolved, thanks.

I have just experienced a problem sending 50 BTC from my account. The account says the funds were sent, but blockchain says there is no transaction. Please fix the problem ASAP. Funds are missing when I need them.

I finally received the email, but it would be good if I can disable email verification -- The email can sometimes be down. I enabled Google Authenticator, and there is no excuse not to implement boolean code that prefers Google Authenticator when it is enabled.

Eobot is the other website that uses email verification...

Is there a way to disable the verification code by email? I cannot log in to the site. I am not receiving any email, as it seems my email may be not working at the moment.
Why not use Google Authenticator, which I have?

Does the problem still persist?

Fixed. Thanks.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Forking on: August 16, 2015, 06:32:46 AM
It is obvious that Bitcoin Core is not achieving its objectives in forwarding technology, and therefore it is obsolete and should be superceded by a newer system that can promote more rapid innovations and changes.

It seems to me that Bitcoin Core has become stale and stagnant, and resistant to change. It is crucial that for an emergent technology to grow, the community needs to foster ways to provide some space for new ideas to take shape and grow. I don’t see why the Bitcoin developer group is having such a hard time in achieving this.

The real change in BitcoinXT is not the technology, but the opportunity to break the stalemate from making changes to the technology. In a sense, this is more about creating a more open system for adopting changes.

When will the interest rate (%) be shown again?

At the moment, according to my calculations, it seems to be 5.9999% annual rate.

It is transparent enough to me. Interest paid out hourly for this rate, so you can do your maths and withdraw when you want. But it seems FYI if you withdraw before the hour is due, you do not get paid the accrued interest.

I found a bug just now. While I was withdrawing some funds from my HaoBTC account to an external wallet, I interrupted the process (dialog). The status is now showing an 'ERROR', because the funds are withdrawn but not sent. (Waiting indefinitely for support to fix the bug.) That this is even possible is a 'gotcha'. (A correctly functioning wallet should close the bug.)

In the meantime, warning is: do not interrupt or cancel the withdrawal dialog.

It looks like the site is simply using Google Translate to translate the text, so brand names like “HaoBTC” are automatically translated to “Good Bitcoin”. Brand names should not be translated.

This has shades of Mark Karpelès and the months before the Mt Gox collapse when people don’t know anything.

18  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BIT-X.com | Bitcoin Debit Card | No Monthly Fees! on: August 09, 2015, 10:17:15 AM
Unfortunately, the 0.5% commission just for withdrawing funds from my account will prevent me from withdrawing funds from my account. This was not how Bitcoin was supposed to be. It was meant to facilitate fast low fee money transfer. Not slow it down by 1 day and charge a commission for slowing it down.

After the UI upgrade, I have an invalid phone number in my settings. I found out that it is not possible to unbind an invalid phone number from the settings.
How can someone unbind the phone setting, when they need to receive the verification code by phone (but the phone doesn't work)?
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What BTC debit card you recommend? on: July 31, 2015, 03:19:53 AM
I use bit-x. Sure, they have high fees, but at least they are transparent. The card is reliable.
