I would say it compliments it. One thing you can do with it is exchange bitcoins for fiat without the need of a centralized market such as mtgox. Which will be very useful for bitcoin.

It isn't related to opencoin.org We are going to change the name before making the project public.

genjix: You're all not listening to what I'm saying. I am sorry this happened, How can you say you are sorry? You didn't do *anything* to help the situation. You 3 are either complete lying thieves or incredibly stupid. We offered to take over bitcoinica and pay everyone back 100% of their claims but instead you assholes twiddled your thumbs, hid and allowed even *more* money to be stolen and now it is all going to be pissed away in receivership. All you had to do was simply give control back to tihan but that was too much trouble for you worthless...

My account was just liquidated and send to a foreign address, the IP of which seems to be in the Ukraine. Hmm how can you tell his IP?

Heh ok. I think you give these bots way too much credit. And what about all the human traders that are better than you should they have to pay extra fees?
GeniuSxBoY: Why do you care if a bot adds and removes orders? How does it effect you at all?
Wouldn't these double spend attacks be noticed by other clients though?

Of course, if you buy BTC as a currency instead of a speculative vehicle none of this matters much. Instead of sell, sell, sell, try spending your bitcoin. It will help make a more robust economy and you may find some bargains right now priced in bitcoin. Exactly! Either you are actually using bitcoins and you don't care what the price is or you are speculating and then these crazy swings are just what you want.

They have a bank in the UK that takes SEPA. Just use that.

Big Time Coin: You can just email mtgox and raise your limit.

Did you read the post? It doesn't extend 0% fee. It extends the .3% fee for *everyone*

https://support.mtgox.com/entries/20273158-announcement-extension-of-reduced-trade-feesDear Mt. Gox users, We are pleased to announce that as a way to say we sincerely appreciate our customers who are “hanging in there” with us as we recover from the “hackcrash” (not to mention our growing pains), we will be extending the current discounted trade fees. Those who are trading at 0% will continue at that rate until July 27. After the July 27 customers with the 0% trade fees will migrate to 0.3% trade fees which they will be able to take advantage of until August 9. Those who were trading at 0.3% will continue at the same rate until August 9 We would also like to remind those users who are trading at 0% that they are eligible for a free YubiKey, a new One Time Password security feature at Mt.Gox that will ensure the security of your online transactions with us. Unfortunately, we will only be able to offer this for a short time so please make sure to order your key at http://Yubikey.mtgox.com (be sure to login) before July 27. Sincerely, -Mt. Gox Team.

Bots aren't making the market stable. You are just pointing to a random thing and saying that is the cause of the stability. There have been bots almost from the time the exchange opened and it was rarely stable. Why do you think they are having a big effect all the sudden?

bytemaster: go to freenode on irc #mtgox and ask for MagicalTux. He is there right now and will fix your problem.

I just saw on the site. Mtgox now accepts GBP deposits.
Mark says Canada is on the way soon...

You should email mtgox. The LR backlog was cleared but some withdraws were lost on LR's end.

toddbethell: Wouldn't a lower price attract more investment? It the price goes to 10 there is clearly potential for 3x upside. 3x upside isn't that clear when the price is 30.
YoYa: you can't seriously trade on a market with a 1/10th the liquidity of the main market. You are just throwing money away if you do.

Gandlaf: No that isn't my statement. You seem to really want to misconstrue what you read. My statement is this: MtGox has enough funds to cover any losses from the recently stolen coins and has enough to cover what it owes me to date. MtGox will cover any debt to its customers before it pays me. The fact that I haven't been paid yet has nothing to do with mtgox's ability to pay. It only has to do with the fact that neither I nor Mark have made time to complete the payment.
