Anyone who used crypsy for years would vouch that it was basically sound - albeit with warts.
I think BigVern is a regular guy who gave birth to something too big, lost control, suffered a big mishap and couldn't, in the end hold it together.
Lessons learned are:
Blame the real criminals - the hackers who stole from Crypsy and it's traders.
Don't hold more than a days trading in an exchange.
You only have to look at some of the Rich List wallets on Chainz to figure out how lazy some people are leaving their stash in exchanges. My rule is that if you are not going to use it within 48 hours for a trade and it is over 0.1BTC in value - Get it out!
