11901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NFL Off Season on: June 30, 2016, 05:35:31 AM
Just sharing an article from a month ago.

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/15667689/congressional-report-finds-nfl-improperly-intervened-brain-research-cost-taxpayers-16-million

Congressional report says NFL waged improper campaign to influence government study

All this concussion stuff is making the NFL look bad. The article is basically saying that the NFL is trying to control the scientists in charge of doing the research in order to make any reports as biased as possible.
11902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 200: Cormier vs. Jones 2 on: June 30, 2016, 04:49:33 AM
This really is a full stacked card! Most of the match ups are so good, I can't wait until next week.

My first impression of the match-ups:

Jones > Cormier - No question here. Jones is better than Cormier.

Hunt > Lesnar - I don't think Lesnar has trained well for this fight.

Nunes > Tate - If Tate survives the first round, which she will, her chances of winning are higher in later rounds.

Edgar > Aldo - We may not see Aldo of old for a while after a humiliating loss to McGregor. Meanwhile Edgar has improved more and more.

Velasquez > Browne - Cain is just too strong for Browne. Browne could get TKO'd or KO'd here because of his weak chin.

Actually among the the 5 fights, Jones vs Cormier is the one with most us having second thoughts. Jones have a lot of personal issues lately which may have an effect on his training camp and focus however this is also a good way for him to prove that even there is some personal issues behind him, he is still focused with his craft.

I don't think that will affect his performance in such an important fight. Cormier has no answer for the riddle that is Jones. In order to beat Jones, you have to be better than Jones. Cormier just isn't enough vs one of the best MMA pound for pound fighters of all time.

I just don't see Cormier out-wrestle Jones, out-strike Jones and even outsmart Jones.

Yeah! It's still over a month away but I'm also very excited. Preseason starts on August 7 and regular season starts on September 8.

11905  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I buy now? on: June 30, 2016, 02:48:07 AM
Bitcoin is around 560-580, should I buy or there's a chance that the bitcoin will hit a lower price any soon? What abou the bitfinex?

In my opinion, no. If you hold bitcoins, keep holding. But if you don't hold any just stay put. It's very risky buying into it now because we do not know where it's going. The momentum is gone and we have no clue if there's another wave of buying coming. Everyone is cautious now.

11906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your aim in gambling???? on: June 30, 2016, 02:41:23 AM
I do it as a form of entertainment and fun, and of course, if I can make a profit, I am happy. I think it is a good way of entertainment, and can make sports games very interesting if you bet on a sport.

This is true. Sporting events do become more interesting when you place a bet. I have a weakness for NFL and MMA betting. But more on MMA. I love watching the sport and I wouldn't mind placing bets in all the matches and also the prop bets. Grin I have not made any serious money in it honestly but having small wins here and there would be a plus in the fun factor.
11907  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price prediction after the halving on: June 30, 2016, 02:33:52 AM
Post your opinions about the changes in the bitcoin price after the halving.

Will the price climb higher or stay around ~$700ish ?

I doubt it. As mentioned in another thread, in my opinion, the drivers of the current price rise has left and there are no signs of them coming back at the moment. If they don't come back, btc could go down to $550. That's just a speculative guess, but I do think it will go sub $600. If they do come back, well, btc could go above $700 easy. Smiley
11908  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price predictions for after the halving on: June 30, 2016, 02:30:20 AM
I want to hear what everyone thinks the price will be after the halving happening in the next few weeks. I'm predicting at least a $1200 Bitcoin by the end of July. Thoughts?

Judging from the current price action, it could go back to sub $600. It looks like the drivers are gone and has left the rest of the pack with their profits. So my best guess would be btc price at $550 after the halving.
11909  Economy / Speculation / Re: PnF TA on: June 30, 2016, 02:22:09 AM
how's bitcoin doing klee? expecting lower lows or what? (cuz i obv didnt close some longs heh Grin)
I don't care about BTC to be honest - when Bitcoin suffers, alts party.

Important thing is to be in cryptos until (and if) the whole crypto market becomes bearish again.

...

Isn't it the other way around? When bitcoin suffers, altcoins also suffer in fiat value. And the logical thing to do is to short btc rather than hold alts. On the other hand, when bitcoins go up in fiat value, so do alts. But some alts grow faster against fiat making it grow faster vs bitcoin as well. So the logical move would be to hold those alts with the fast growth potential.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. But that's my impression of the btc - alts market. I would appreciate to be corrected and enlightened.
11910  Economy / Economics / A Global Recession on: June 30, 2016, 02:06:29 AM
Anyone have any thoughts on a global recession happening? Brexit obviously a huge deal, and people are talking about the breakup of UK and European Union.

Obviously, times like these make people very happy about having cash reserves to take advantage of opportunities. Anyone have any thoughts on the next 6-24 months? And how would this affect the bitcoin economy? Would like to hear some thoughts/opinions.
11911  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you use multiple Bitcoin Wallets to store your Bitcoins? on: June 30, 2016, 01:29:00 AM
Hey guys,

I was wondering if you keep all your bitcoins in one wallet, or do you use multiple providers/accounts?

I am currently using 3 different wallets, it kinda feels safer not to store everything in once place...

Thoughts?

MC  Smiley

It's always a good idea to use multiple addresses. Some people would even advice not to use the same address twice. I think that's overkill. But if you don't want to be tracked, try changing your active addresses every week or two.
11912  Other / Archival / Re: Where you get Bitcoin ? on: June 30, 2016, 01:17:23 AM
- Faucet ?
- Cloud Mining ?
- Mining ?
- HYIP ?
- Tranding ?
- your answer ?

Thanks~~

I got bitcoin by buying them. I have recently started saving some of my salary and store them in btc as a long term investment. I tried looking to other altcoins to keep long term, but I have not found one worthy enough to hold. I also advice you to join a signature campaign if you are planning to hang around a lot in the forum. You get some extra bitcoins per post which is really good because they add up if you're patient.

11915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High bet amounts or low bet amounts? What is your style? on: June 29, 2016, 11:39:54 PM
I wonder if you just play for the fun with small amounts or if you roll big sums in hope to win a lot? What is your method?

That would really depend how much money you have as capital. I noticed that some professional gamblers refer to their capital in units with each unit equal to 1% of that capital. When they make a bet, they don't risk more than 5% of their capital in one bet. As they progress higher, they increase their bets accordingly and vice versa.

The objective of that strategy is to prolong and make their capital last in order to stay in the gsme for the long run. But if you're just gambling for fun, it wouldn't matter. Just bet any amount you want. Grin
11916  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin DUMP! on: June 29, 2016, 04:26:10 PM
It looks like the driver aka the pumper has gone and left bitcoin running like a headless horse. The price action really looks a lot like it will go further down below $600 when the other traders start selling and realize that there is no more upside momentum coming. But who knows, maybe the pumper is still there waiting for the right time to buy it up again.
11917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should we tip people asking for BTC in gambling websites? on: June 29, 2016, 04:03:42 PM
Many people post their problems and ask for help. Are they really needy? Should we tip them? If they were not needy, they would have tried faucets. Or maybe they are fooling us? What would you do?

I get turned off by people who post their sob stories asking and begging for money. But the funny thing is if they would just tell me that they needed the money and that they will pay me back later, I'll give it to them. I don't know what it is, but hearing sob stories and then begging for money annoys me.
11918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: June 29, 2016, 03:44:14 PM
hi guys, i bought 1BTC today and i am wondering to gamble or to invest the 1btc?

if to gamble

best site to gamble with a really nice provably fair..

and if to invest.

best investment program wherein no scam.

thank you for your opinions guys

cheers

There's only a thin line that separates "gambling" and "investing" in cryptocurrencies. If you want to gamble try to play the games that you can gain an edge like sportsbetting or blackjack. If you want to invest, avoid altcoins. Bitcoin is already an investment in itself.
11919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Predict what Bitcoin will be used for in the Year 2026 on: June 29, 2016, 03:36:05 PM
Will we see massive innovation in the field of Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology till the year 2026?

Try to predict what the Bitcoin in particular and the Blockchain Technology at large WILL be used for within the next 10 years

~CfA~

I can only primarily see that bitcoin will be accepted as a store of value and as a safe haven commodity like gold. While this is limiting, it's the other platforms, like Ethereum or Factom, that will be the ones pushing blockchain technology to a myriad of real world uses. We are already seeing that trend happening right now.
11920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin can be used as a method of payment online? on: June 29, 2016, 03:28:59 PM
There I was thinking of bitcoin and it is contained in the title of this post. Is bitcoin can be used as a method of payment online?
Seeing that bitcoin has prices that always change when it is used as a payment method definitely prices will change as well. That would make traders must often change the prices in order not to incur a loss if the price drops. What do you think ? Is bitcoin can be used as a method of payment online?

I was puzzled by your question and I had to check the date of your post. You know, bitcoin already is being used as a method of payment online, in a lot of sites and services. The dark market alone has a lot of people accepting it as payment. And so do a lot of merchants in legit sites. I think the real question is how far can bitcoin go as a method of payment online?
