21  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: how to add "generate wallet address" option in my website.. please support on: July 30, 2018, 08:33:46 PM
You have 2 options:
- Using an API service
- Make your own node for each coin (This will cost you many money to invest on servers nodes)

1- For API service, you can use blockchain.com API / Blocktrail.com / or any others to accept bitcoin payments.

But apparently you want accept many altcoins aswell, so i suggest you coinpayments.net, you can accept up to 60+ Altcoins using this service.

For that, you need to be familiar with blockchain technology and learn more about it in order to start accepting payments.

The services i purposed for you, let you integrate programmatically payment solution on your website, if you want only a donation widget ... you can make a quick google search, you will get some results about that.

2- Buy and configure each server for a paticular altcoin, in this case, your money is the factor that let you know how many altcoins you will be able to accept on your website, each altcoin/cryptocurrency have their own blockchain size ... so before buying any server you have to check if it's compatible with your altcoin and if the specifications of the server meet the requirments for that altcoin.

Once done, your developers must learn about JSON RPC connection and the commands required to generate, send, receive or ... coins using a specific node server.
22  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blocktrail/btc.com SDK Fees estimation on: July 29, 2018, 11:08:50 PM
Here is how to do it:

Code:
<?php
use Blocktrail\SDK\BlocktrailSDK;
use
Blocktrail\SDK\Wallet;

// BEGIN - CHANGE REQUIRED INFOS
require_once __DIR__ "BLOCKTRAIL_SDK";

define("blocktrail_api""");
define("blocktrail_secret""");
define("blocktrail_wallet""");
define("blocktrail_password""");

$address ""// your address
$satoshi 100000// your amount in satoshi

// END - CHANGE REQUIRED INFOS

$client = new BlocktrailSDK(blocktrail_apiblocktrail_secret"BTC"false);
$wallet $client->initWallet(blocktrail_walletblocktrail_password);

$feeStrategy = \Blocktrail\SDK\Wallet::FEE_STRATEGY_LOW_PRIORITY// your fee type

$coinselect $wallet->coinSelection(
\
Blocktrail\SDK\Wallet::normalizeOutputsStruct([$address => $satoshi]),
falsefalse,
$feeStrategy
);

$fees $coinselect["fee"];

// Logs
var_dump($coinselect);
echo
"\n Fees for this transaction will be: ".$fees;
?>

Change some informations like: BLOCKTRAIL_SDK path, blocktrail api, address where you want to send the amount, and the amount it self in ($satoshi string).

I notice the bitcoin address you are trying to send BTC to:
Code:
66f4dec6ab29cd056ce1814c6fdfee05e1524b36
are not in correct format, a Bitcoin address start with number '1' or '3',  contains 26 to 33 characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9), excluding 'O', 'I' and 'l', to prevent visual ambiguity. And your address do not follow all this conditions ... i think you put a random MD5 string.

If it's a testnet address, please switch to testnet on Blocktrail, but i don't know if Fees estimation is supported or not for testnet, change this line:
Code:
$client = new BlocktrailSDK(blocktrail_api, blocktrail_secret, "BTC", false);
to

Code:
$client = new BlocktrailSDK(blocktrail_api, blocktrail_secret, "BTC", true);

I suggest to process payments semi-automatically ... when user submit new withdraw request, from admin panel you can process it with one button click.

I used Blocktrail API in the past, but personnaly i didn't liked it ... support is late or never answer to customers tickets/emails, and the fees for transactions are very high (I don't know if this changed from that time - Around one year ago).

24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You can now buy and sell Bitcoin with Skrill (In the official website) on: July 25, 2018, 07:10:57 PM
Technically speaking, you're not really buying anything:

Quote
At this stage, customers will only be able to buy and sell interests in cryptocurrency and will not be able to transfer their cryptocurrency holding to other Skrill customers or use it to transact with merchants. This service will be added in the future.

So unless the ability of withdrawing your funds is added, we shouldn't be that excited.

It should be added in the futur ... it's the first step for that.

Regarding the number of users and merchants around it, it will be only benifical for Bitcoin !

In 2011 only, the company's customer base reached 25 million, including 120,000 merchant accounts, what about 2018 !

26  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How satoshi could be anonymous when he was the only full-node ? on: July 24, 2018, 02:03:27 AM
I think there was more than 1 node when he launched it, if that was the case then anyone else was able to take control of the blockchain at that time.

Second thing, is the domain name bitcoin.org, how he used to purchase it ? Purhapse any anonymous payment method at that time like Liberty Reserve or ...

But at that time, why he would manage to keep him self anonymous with this revolutionary technology ? except if he didn't want that someone will make pressure on him in the futur to stop or limit it.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung start to accept Bitcoin on 3 countries on: July 22, 2018, 09:53:22 PM
Hi,

From your message it lookslike that you have problem in the way I am posting my messages !

I have a problem with clickbait topics that you make just for attention and merit....

Even with the included sources, I can see you posting spam posts like this !

You have provided nothing...
Two so-called bitcoin newspapers and a blog...
A source is this:
https://news.samsung.com/us/category/press-resources/news-releases/

For tomorrow, I would like to see Bitcoin growing more and coming with a big and good news again and again !

Bitcoin will not grow with clickbait topics

CoPay made cooperation with Samsung in order to allow him accept BITCOIN and other cryptocurrencies on official Samsung Stores.

Show me proof of those statements from Samsung...
And Copay is not a HIM.

Last thing: no one pushes you to comment or read the news I share! you can go your way or close your eyes when you see my posts, since they do not please you.

Nobody pushes you to read my comments...
But I will push the report button for this kind of threads from now on

You got official blog link of the society that made a cooperation with Samsung ! to give him autorization to accept Bitcoin on 3 countries official Samsung stores !

Do you think an official Samsung store will accept Bitcoin without autorization from the main house ?

Here is another source:
https://news.bitcoin.com/samsung-stores-in-the-baltic-states-now-accept-cryptocurrencies/

You can make some searches on google you will find many of trusted news website sharing this infos !

If you want official statement make your own searches and contact CopPay or Samsung for that, or even news websites that published this informations ! I am sharing a news only ! You got it ?

I am getting no merit for sharing this and winning nothing, on sharing news ... it's your view only and your intentions only ... it's not on BITCOIN DISCUSSION someone will look for merit ... so please ...

34  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-07-19] Bitcoin Price Has Bottomed, According to Barry Silbert on: July 20, 2018, 01:14:21 AM

35  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How does trading plateforms calculate percent change ? on: July 16, 2018, 02:11:54 AM
Here is the formula:

%delta is the percent change.

Xt is the exchange rate in the current period (t).

Xt – i is the exchange rate in the previous period (t – i), where "i" can be yesterday, last month, last year, or ten years ago.

For example:
Current bitcoin price: 6430$
Last day at the same moment: 6100$

Percent change = (6430 - 6100 / 6100 ) * 100

Percent change = 3.77%
36  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Symbol of blockchain on: July 11, 2018, 08:44:02 PM
I drew two variants.
I like the latter myself more.
How are you?

If you like it, use it without restriction.
Logos are the property of the crypto community.

This reflect nothing about blockchain !

Notice that one node interact with many others, so one arrow is not sufficient.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how to get all guids on my local wallet blockchain api? on: July 10, 2018, 11:40:09 PM
Did you downloaded your Wallet backup ? The seed of 12 words to save on PDF or to write on paper ?

If yes, you can recover your BTC, then you can create another wallet on blockchain.com and request for another API.

This in case you lost your GUID, and i think it's the only way to recover it since you didn't setup an email for it.

Or purhapse you setup an ALIAS for it ?
38  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Symbol of blockchain on: July 10, 2018, 11:31:28 PM
You can use or make any interconnected squares, circles or any other object. Including a design of server with a red (or any other color, depend on your need) cross on it somewhere, demonstrating the decentralization.
39  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Alert Keys and Alert System Vulnerabilities Disclosure on: July 05, 2018, 09:11:26 PM
But it's not sufficient, sendalert system let all users to be informed about an event or critical issue at the same moment ... this system is really required for Bitcoin and it's not made for nothing in the firsts versions.

If we focus on online medias, you must notice that peoples not follow the same one, and time to publish news about an event differs from media to another, there even peoples that not follow news or read them ... there many peoples interested on Bitcoin, even those who don't speak English, and since almost all the news medias are in english, this exclude them aswell.
There are many Bitcoin media sites in non-english languages. There are also many forums in non-english languages. From previous events, we know that these things get reported on fairly quickly and the news spreads around fairly quickly. There isn't any need for the alert system.

The other reasons for removing the alert system were its centralization and insecurity. No one knew exactly who held the alert key. Anyone who did could send an alert and this poses a security risk. Furthermore, there was some talk previously about using the alert key for non-alert things and rather as a way for developers to force changes in a centralized manner. This is completely undesirable, and combined with the fact that we had no idea who had the alert key, it needed to be removed.

Since we are on a decentralized solution, and there a way for an improvement or create new similar alert system based on new algorythm or architecture, why not ?
Sure, that's something that has been discussed. But there is no urgent need for one, and we believe that existing news and media are sufficient for getting information out to everyone.

And to push things further, why not a decentralized self updating system ?
Automatic updates (and updates in general) are inherently centralized. You need to get the binaries from a centralized distribution source.

But what if we follow the majority ? just like mining system (A 51% Update)
That's not at all how mining works. It isn't just "follow the majority".

... blockchain detect the most used version of Bitcoin Core (Keeping all this decentralized) and update the other clients automatically in case of critical security alert. Or atleast notify the other clients instead of auto update them.
There is no way to detect reliably what version clients are running. It is easy to spoof the version you are using and it is impossible for a third party to verify that you are running that version. If an attacker compromises the distribution server, they can easily spin up fake nodes for their new compromised version and then people with the auto updater will then update to the compromised version. Any sort of auto updating feature has the same problem. Additionally, the Bitcoin Core developers do not want to force people to use specific versions; it is up to the node operators to update at their own convenience.

Instead of updating automatically Bitcoin Core, this one will make a notification directly (This prevent from forcing user to update it), of course some peoples will be able to spoof the version, but there will be a trick to solve this problem, like algo to crypt checksum of the bitcoin core with the version number in a way to enforce and apply an anti-spoofing system.

And this will help to get some stats about bitcoin (For public analytics), and this staying decentralized.

Make it on this way or with another idea, is something useful for bitcoin community, but like you said it's not an urgent matter, right now developer team must focus on the security (Main thing is protecting bitcoin users and ecosystem).

Good luck and thank you for your time.
40  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Alert Keys and Alert System Vulnerabilities Disclosure on: July 05, 2018, 03:00:43 PM
Why not fixing it ? Isn't it benifical for bitcoin core ? How you will manage to inform peoples about potential risk in the futur ?
Because we want to get rid of the alert system. It has already been removed from Bitcoin Core for several years. There are already sufficient media outlets and sites where people get their news about Bitcoin. If there is a network event in the future, people can easily get information about it from those places.

Thank you for your answer.

Since we are on a decentralized solution, and there a way for an improvement or create new similar alert system based on new algorythm or architecture, why not ? And to push things further, why not a decentralized self updating system ?

What is this ?
Update bitcoin core automatically when a new version is released, yes we all now this and it present a security measure, and it need trusting third party and it's not principle of Bitcoin.

A discussion already exist about this on (And purhapse other topics):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=293824.0

But what if we follow the majority ? just like mining system (A 51% Update) ... blockchain detect the most used version of Bitcoin Core (Keeping all this decentralized) and update the other clients automatically in case of critical security alert. It's not subject here, but this will open a door for improvements.
