Gonna state this again, since nobody picked it up:

- we need somebody to run a faucet (https://github.com/invisibel/fedorafaucet)
- we need a paperwallet (https://github.com/dooglus/bitaddress.org)

I'm on to WebWallet, WarpDice and of course, v2.
For WarpDice we can set up a cold wallet for the initial fund if someone wants to invest and get dividends. Will make a plan about it, just give me some time.
More news on it soon. I have meetings regarding webwallet and v2 in the weekend, so that has priority.

Some people expressed desire to help, such as developer7. If you need any info please contact me via PM, slack, etc. Small but fair bounties will be paid.

I am busy but available to reply, usually at least 10hrs online.

Also, if you feel info is missing from the OP, please let me know.

and it's also a good idea to check if your computer time is correct (even seconds), in order to avoid orfans.

Very good point. It's an issue that can cause troubles.

Mine is still not stacking.......have received only one stake so far since I received IPO coins. Wallet is synced though.

"Not stacking because you don't have mature coins"  but I DO have mature coins.
correct me if im wrong here, But once you receive a staked block, the transaction that produced the block has its stake weight reset to 0 does it not? at which point, if you have only one transaction, you would have to wait the min stake age again.

Depends on how much you stake in the first place. Smaller amounts have less weight in proportion to the network.
People having orphans, might look ugly but you just need to ignore. Somebody else solved it instead of you.

Make sure you have no reserve amount if you wish to stake it all.

I created a "warp.conf" file here. Is it ok the way I did it?

Code:
addnode=109.235.71.102
addnode=24.48.120.173
addnode=70.83.227.32
server=0
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.1.*
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1

Thanks

All check!

It means something is wrong somewhere.

I want to see if there are more reports like this.
There shouldn't be anything wrong. You can sometimes lose coin maturity.
Let's see how it goes and let me know if it comes back. You should not have to wait for more than 8hrs.

*EDIT: anyway, for technical issues, the best is to come to the Slack channel. There's usually always someone there to help.
You can get an invite at http://warpslack.herokuapp.com

Hey!

Staking should be fine, the network shows no issues.

Remember to unlock wallet in order to stake!

I think distrubution is key at this point. 1000 's / 10.000 's of people must be able to join in and get this project up and running.

If we all sit around with the Warp in our Wallets then nothing happens.

How can we distribute:

- Launch a Faucet
- Do some kind of contest - signature design / meme design / video / roadmap
- Make a gambling site WarpDice.com

This is all to generate momentum and creating a community.

I am not a huge holder but would be willing to donate to the development.

Looking forward to the development of the features so a sharp roadmap can be made.

Let me know what you guys think.

All good points! I'll be working the next days to bring more awareness to the project.
I see excitement even outside of this thread. Some people have contacted me that they missed the sale, and are looking forward to a market.
We should not be very desperate to get listed, though. The interest will rise and the markets will naturally open.

About the faucet, I can pay for the cost of running one - as long as no advertisement is used in the page for personal profit. Will also donate the 600 coins I have left.
Anybody that would like to set one up, let me know.

I've actually registered warpdice.com domain the other day. Will set it up. Maybe someone want to invest some WARP in it?

Advertising will come, new website, videos, etc.

I have meetings today and tomorrow with developers to create WARP related services. I'll be letting people know what I'm working on.
Anybody that would like to work together, please ring!

Is there a warpcoin IRC channel? I want to put up a warpcoin IRC bot.

Good idea. This project must have one!

There is, #warpnet on freenode. But I'm not there usually.

I'm changing my bed sheets, gonna put a movie on, and enjoy the first good night of sleep in the last 10 days.
Hope you understand it.

Any issues, please report them and I will reply when I wake up.

decided to just check the code for min stake age lol
unsigned int nStakeMinAge = 8 * 60 * 60; // 10 hours
unsigned int nStakeMaxAge = 30 * 24 * 60 * 60;  // 30 days

which means staking age will be met at approx 5pm EST

edit
IMHO the longer we wait for an exchange the better! let's wait till theres some neat features finished.... then push to exchanges! THIS IS NOT A QUICK FLIP coin! IMO its a long-term investment. Those asking for exchanges within hours of getting their coins worry me a bit...

http://prntscr.com/9w1jea

It takes 8hrs for min stake. Not 10 like the commented line says.
Max stake age is 30 days.

Dev, is the block explorer functioning properly? It shows 1971 blocks, but my wallet is on block 2103 already.

I see 2104 blocks in the explorer.

Strange, my wallet is now on 2138, on the block explorer last block is 2019 followed by 1971 ?!?!?
This is where I'm looking http://84.200.4.70:3001

You might need to clear cache? It shows up perfectly on my side.
Anyone else having same issue?

I submitted a request to be listed on Cryptopia - there is a voting section and it only applies to one coin per month - however there is a way to get instantly approved and my calculations say it will be approximately (1) btc.  I will let you know when I get a response.

I will not pay for exchange listings. But thanks for doing that awesome work!

Shapetwist - Congratulations on a wonderfully executed plan.  A few concerns I have may want to be considered.  Since the coin is not POW and only 1% per year interest stake - I do not leave my wallet open 24/7 (for security purposes).  How do we make sure that the blockchain does not stagnate or stop?  Meaning - if I have to leave my wallet unlocked for staking purposes (24) hrs a day for 1% - isn't it more secure to open your wallet for staking once or twice a month for a day or two?  Now if the answer to that is yes, how do we make sure that blockchain keeps moving?  Maybe some sort of masternode system with limited collateral required to start a mn?  Or maybe hybrid pow/pos mode like Diamondcoin?  Just wondering if you think it is a problem?  Sorry if my message is jumbled but I think you get the idea.

You raise good questions. It's imperial that staking happens across the network. We have a few more days until there is enough staking pressure.
The blockchain will then move only by POS after block 10000. We have 122 people (slightly less - some people bought more than once) now being able to stake.
I don't want to hardfork the coin just now for major changes, I believe the network can handle it.

If anything happens, we will fix it. For now, just contribute with staking.

An emotional bit, just because.

I find it really refreshing that you all joined in. It's great to see that it's possible to have projects developed with a strong community. We have generated a great momentum and ended up with a BTC fund that will allow further development. Thank you all for believing in me, I am ecstatic. I am so looking forward to this journey, and I can surely say you won't be disappointed. I'll be giving all I have to make WARP a truly innovative and useful cryptocurrency. Like someone said to me: "Let's make things simple for the end user". This sums up what I believe in.

Once a market exists, you can expect this thread to be filled with negative people. They will do anything to cause you doubts. Please stay strong. In doubt, contact me directly for advice, or join the community in the slack channel. I will treat all the WARP angels with great honesty and respect. I'm full on with WARP. Not everything is up to me, I also count on all of you, in the same way you have trusted me so far. We can have a brilliant future.

Let's turn crypto around. It's WARP time.

@Shapetwist - I would like to donate 100 WARP to you when we get our first exchange! - Please stay motivated and buy some WARP! - Please post your address for me to send the 100 WARP to - only when we have our first exchange!  Wink

** I LOVE THE NAME "WARP" !!! **
Great Pokey, i will step in and donate 100 WARP to Shapetwist as well.

You guys don't need to donate anything.
It's a bit ironic that I will try to buy WARP from you though. I hope you sell fairly once it hits an exchange.

Distribution looks awesome. http://explorer.warpcoin.com/richlist

Still waiting on what to do with the leftover 619.61746127 WARP. I think it's more fair if someone else runs a faucet with it.

Here's a newly generated WARP address that will be my personal: WfHnWNC6ars12QdsZX2pPje8Kuqekc5tu7
But let WARP be listed on an exchange first.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WARP - Something different - Crowdfunding Ended - 29.94BTC Raised on: January 28, 2016, 02:53:48 PM
Hey everyone, distribution is finished!

I have 619.61746127 left in my wallet - from the staking test earlier and a 0.0005 BTC (18 WARP) test transaction I did in the beginning.
Everything worked out perfectly and I am very happy! Please make sure you let the coins stake! It will take a bit until staking begins but you will make the network stronger.

Launch is a success! Now, let's move on to the next steps!
